That night, I thought about what Cedrick said about Paul as I lay on the couch. He said that he’s been getting drunk every night after we left his condo. I have been expecting Paul to come to the apartment and force Jericho and me to move back to his condo, but he hasn’t come.
My neighbor did tell me that a handsome, tall man was knocking on our apartment door the day that we got home from the condo. I assumed that was Paul.
Despite what he did, I have developed some feelings for him, and I do miss him sometimes. Some men have hit on me in the store, and I even got an indecent proposal from the husband of one of our customers. I stayed away as far away from him as possible and passed them on to Wanda. I’d rather sacrifice my commission than get fired from my job.
