I passed by the bakery and bought some pastries for Jericho. I wanted to celebrate a bit and have a treat when I share the good news with my son. He might not appreciate it as much, but he’ll know that I am happy, and he’ll be happy for me too.
When I got to my neighbor’s house, I panicked as she said that Jericho was not there.
Jessica: “What? Where’s my son?”
Neighbor: “A handsome man named Paul took him. Your son said he knows him, so I let him go.”
Jessica: “Oh. Uhm, next time, can you please call or text me first before you let my son go with anyone other than me?”
Neighbor: “Yeah, I should have done that. I didn’t think it was needed because Jericho was so excited to see him. He even called him uncle.”
Jessica: “I understand. Thank you.”
Neighbor: “No probl
