“ Lottie.. Don't make me do this”, Francis pleaded.
“ You got Lottie a minute to give a reply, or your reply won't matter anymore”, She said sternly.
Francis slowly took his gaze from Lottie to Violet and back to Lottie.
The two ladies were staring daggers at him.
These were the two ladies he loved the most.
The two ladies he could choose between.
He wanted the two of them for himself, is it that hard to ask for?.
He drenched the day this would happen and now he was stuck between them.
“ You are running out of time”, Lottie rhymed.
“ Fine, I choose you Lottie”, He finally said.
“ I choose you over her”, Francis confirmed.
“ You heard him”, Lottie smirked at Violet.
“ Really?”.
" How could you Francis?"Violet shook her head.
“ I loved you. I supported you", Violet drawled.
"You know you are just a disgusting man who sucks at everything, you aren't even good in bed”.
" Who needs a guy like you?"She half-yelled.
"Our relationship ends here", Violet angrily grabbed her purse. She walked away angrily.
"You see Lottle. I love you".
“ I'm ready to lose anyone just for you. I will do anything for you”, Francis emphasized.
“ Unfortunately I wouldn't say the same”, Lottie suddenly grabbed his hand and pulled out the ring she gave him.
She pulled out hers and gave it to him.
"Our relationship also ends here", She said sternly.
"Lottie... don't do this. Don't leave me”, He tried holding on to her.
She snapped his hand away almost immediately.
"You should have thought about that when you decided to cheat on with my best friend”, She raised her voice a little.
She turned backwards immediately and made to walk away.
"Do you think you can find anyone like me?”.
" Do you think anyone can love you, the way I did?”.
" Aren't you scared of getting your reputation tarnished?”, Francis asked, gritting his teeth as he did.
Lottie slowly turned toward him.
"No Francis, I'm scared of no one".
“ And who said I wouldn't be getting married in two days time”, A smile suddenly spread across her lips.
“ For your information ex, I would", She spelt out.
"And yes, I know I won't ever find someone like you”.
" I mean a despicable man like you can only be one of a kind?”, She chuckled.
" I will find some one better", She demonstrated.
She turned backwards and slowly walked toward the stage.
She grabbed the microphone and demonstrated for the Disc Jockey to lower the song.
"Hello everyone".
“ As you all know, I'm Charlotte Daniels”, She started an announcement.
" I'm supposed to be getting married in two days”.
" But I just found out the truth about the man I was supposed to marry right now and dumbed him”.
" Like can I be any more unfortunately”, She let out another chuckle.
" Now, I'm giving out a proposal”.
" I'm giving out the multimillionaire business deal that many companies have been trying to bargain with me but with a condition..”,She slowly let down the microphone.
She held the microphone upright, right beneath her lips again.
“ A marriage contract would be attached", She dropped the bombshell.
" So who is ready to get married to me?", She dropped the question.
Everywhere suddenly fell silent.
Lottie held onto the microphone feeling nervousness creeping in.
Francis stared at her, a smile appearing on his lips.
“ I am," A reply suddenly came from the crowd.
Lottie suddenly took her gaze, to the voice.
It was the same man who had earlier saved her from falling.
“ Fine”, She dropped the microphone she held.
She stepped down from the stage and slowly walked toward the stranger.
“ Let's do this, the normal way", She said.
And without a warning, she went down on her knees.
“ Wait, is she proposing to him…”.
“ A girl proposing to a boy?”.
She could feel rumors fill her head up.
"Are you sure?" He suddenly asked, staring at her deeply.
“Will you marry me”, She finally popped the question.
He stared at her for a while.
“ Yes Princess”, He Smiled at her.
Almost immediately Lottie slid the ring into his finger.
The restaurant was suddenly filled with clapping.
Francis balled his fist, he was very angry.
“ Thank you…Thank you”, Lottie beamed.
" It would be a pleasure to see you all attending my weddin”, She suddenly turned toward Francis.
Her expression turned sour almost immediately.
"Especially you?", She said.
“ Drive me home please?", She said to her new fiance.
“ Sure", He smiled at her.
"I didn't bring my car, I don't know if….", She drawled playing with her fingers.
"No problem princess".
“ I got you covered?", He winked at her.
He suddenly stretched out his hand forward.
"Shall we?" He smiled.
Lottie slowly put her hands in his.
Almost immediately he pulled her closer to himself.
Francis stared at the both of them in rage. Trailing his gaze after them as they walked out.
“I will get you back for this!”, He mumbled…
**
He slowly took his gaze to the rear mirror, staring at Lottie through it.
She seemed gloomy and all.
“ I'm Tanie", He said trying to start a conversation.
"I never asked, Lottie replied.
"Yea, I know".
"Just wandering how we are gonna get married in two days and neither of us knows each other’s names”, He chuckled softly.
Lottie watched his back silently.
She didn't know why she did, what she did at the restaurant but she wasn't going to regret it.
“ Lottie”, She said after some time.
"Nice name for a beautiful princess" , He praised.
"Hmmm" Lottie mumbled.
" So are you really comfortable marrying a. stranger?”.
" Because of what people might say?", He suddenly popped the questions he had be longing to ask.
"I never mentioned I was getting married because I'm scared of what people might say”.
"I'm getting married to you cause I want to”.
“ Besides what's so wrong in marrying a stranger," She asked.
" Everything”, He drawled.
"I mean you don't know me at all",Tanie replied.
" What's there to know", She retorted.
“ You mean you don't want to know about me?”, He asked.
“ Are you some sort of a kidnapper, an assassin, a thief,a golddigger, or the devil?”, She rolled her eyes.
“ What if I'm worse than all you just mentioned”, He asked.
Lottie swallowed hard.
He was damn serious now.
What did he mean by that?..
Is he…
“ Just kidding”.
“ Just take a look of yourself”.
“ You seem like someone that just saw a ghost”, Tanie Chuckled.
“ That was a bad joke”, Lottie breathed.
“ More reason why we need to hold an introduction conversation tomorrow”, He added.
The car suddenly came to an halt.
“Home", He muttered.
Lottie slowly came out of the car, holding on to her phone firmly.
"You need me to stay over?", Tanie asked concerned.
"No, thank you", Lottie rolled her eyes, making her way into her home.
“ Pick you up by 10am", Tanie yelled after her.
**
She walked into her room.
She was completely hausted.
She suddenly stood still, her eyes widened
Her heart beating faster than normal.
Her room was turned upside down and scattered, almost as if someone had been there.
She suddenly felt a movement behind her.
She turned swiftly to the direction but found no one.
A hand suddenly grabbed her from behind.
An handkerchief was pressed against her nose almost immediately.
She struggled continuously for a while.
She suddenly stopped struggling, her hands dropping to her sides.
She was unconscious already.
**
Her eyes slowly opened up.
Her eyes widened staring at the view beneath her.
She slowly took her gaze upward to her tied hand trailing it to the terrace.
Her breath suddenly became heavy.
She was hanging in the air, just above the moving street.
"Help!!".
“ Help me!”, She let out a loud yell, staring at the piece of cloth that she was tied.
A cloth that would tear off anytime soon.
Her lips were shivering from fear.
The life she cherished so much.
The life many had sacrificed for.
Was going to end just like that!.
And then the piece of clothing suddenly snapped off.
