Final apocalypse

Chapter Eleven: Tradegy.

"Why would you do such a thing?" I busted out of anger.

"Well, you have something I want," King Daniel stated.

"And what would that be?" I asked.

"You stupid fool, you have my power, I own all the power of this world, and you are the only one that I haven't gotten powers from, yet, I don't really understand how someone that isn't from our world would have my powers like me"

"Well I am here to destroy you once and for all, leave these innocent people alone or else things are going to get ugly" I busted out with a lot of adrenaline pulling through every corner of my body.

"And what will a small girl like you do?" The king annoyed the adrenaline out of me, "I got your parent now, give me your power or say your last goodbye"

"Leave my parents alone, they have done nothing wrong to you" I struggled with the chains that were tied to my hands, I tried as much as I could to bring out the adrenaline into reality but decisions held me back.

     Should I give him my powers and save me parents, or should I protect this world and let the family that tossed me away like I was nothing, but Ucheoma treated me very well, she defended me like a real elder sister, but here comes another decision.

     My friends, Favour and Clara, even if we haven't interacted with them as friend for a long time I can't let them suffer, the orb chose me to protect this so called world of KINDREDIN, I can't let them down, I don't even know the penalty for backing down.

I have to protect this world and my family, but how?

Flashback;

I waited impatiently in my class by the age of 10 with the happiness of what I was about to experience at home. 

Immediately the bell went with the first sound I ran outside. In a childish looking expression, I went into the waiting area where we would wait for our parents or guardian to come to pick us. I waited in my seat waiting for my mum to pick me.

Even if my parents weren't in the financial part they supported me in study, they took me to the best school in the village and paid the necessary bills even if it isn't on time they'll eventually pay up.

The school wasn't really the type I would like, they still had pot holes and broken windows and walls, but I didn't expect better, it was a village school, all this bad mentioned in better compared to the other public schools where there isn't even a chair or table.

"Janet!" I called out from the position of my waiting area after waiting for my parents for over 1 hour, It was only Me, Janet and one other boy that was still around.

I stood up to meet my best friend those days, "Janet, your Daddy hasn't come yet?" I asked, wanting to know the details of her.

"No, they haven't" Janet. Replied. "When will yours come?" She asked.

"I don't know for them oh, but sha I have good news," I happily said.

"Okay?, what is it?" Janet asked with the same amebó [nosepoker] voice she uses.

"You know that my uncle"

"Which one?"

"That one na, that on my father side that was poor before and he was living with us"

"Is it that one that is fat?" 

"No, this one I am talking about is not too fat not to thin, the guy that came to school that day na"

"Oh okay, I remember, the guy that came for interview"

"Yes"

"Okay, what happened to him?"

"He just got a job" 

"Wow"

"Yes, he just got a good paying job"

"What is the job?"

"He hasn't said it yet, but he got it, I think about 3 weeks ago, a week after he left our house"

"Okay when he tell you don't forget to tell me oh"

"I will call your Daddy so he can give you the phone, that way I can tell you"

"Why can't you tell me tomorrow, aren't you coming to school ni,"

"Well, my dear uncle said he is going to take me to Lagos today, that is why I am so excited, he had already gotten the money ready and I packed my clothes yesterday"

"Wow, you are really lucky"

"You know it has always been my dream to go to Lagos and live a luxurious life, and the best part is that I get to go to a private school"

"I wish I were you right now" After that statement we let out a little chuckle.

"The only problem now is that my parents are taking too long…."

Before I heard Janet reply my mum's rough car came rushing in.

"Thank God, Janet bye, I'll use my uncle's phone to call you tomorrow or today" I said with my voice echoing halfway to the journey to my mum's car.

"Okay, I'll be expecting it"

I jumped into the car and I stayed still throughout the 30 minute to our home, but for an unknown reason my parents' faces were sad, what was wrong?, that was the one question that kept holding my happiness back.

We reached the location of our house, I quickly opened the door, as the small child that I was I didn't care to know what was wrong with in parent, I ran into the house to look for the whereabout of my uncle, according to my mum yesterday he would be here by around 10am and this is 4pm, what's wrong.

I looked around to see if any surprise was coming but none, what is happening, where is Uncle.

"Mummy, Daddy, where is Uncle Jeff?"

They both looked at me with watery eyes, my mum held my shoulder when tears dropped from her eyes immediately she let out a blink. "Am sorry Chioma, am so sorry"

"Wh…. What happened, did he…."

"Am so sorry Chioma"

"NO!, NO, does Ucheoma know?" I asked with tears dropping from my eyes.

"No yet, when she come back from school will let her know"

"No no no! This can't be happening, this must be a joke, is this a surprise?" I kept on disagreeing with my mum, "Uncle Jeff, come out know, I know this is no…. Not true, you are not dead, Mum and Dad are really good actors.

"Chioma just stop"

"I WON'T!, Mum I don't like this game you are playing with me right now, it isn't funny" I turned around and headed into my room, "Uncle Jeff, I am ready to go to Lagos with you, my things are already packed, let's go!, let's go!, let's go!!!" I kept on saying.

I ran into my mum's hands to ask a question, "Where is Uncle Jeff?"

"Daddy, where are you going?" I asked when I noticed his movement.

"Chioma he is DEAD! Dead I tell you, stop behaving like this" 

"How…. How did he die?" I sadly asked.

"Well, he died when he was on his way to our house, he died in a car accident.

"So it was my fault" I cried.

"What are you saying Chioma?" My mum questioned.

"Well, he wanted to come because of me, he wanted to take me to Lagos that's why all this happen, if he didn't come all of this wouldn't have happened"

"Stop all of this Chio…."

"I WON'T STOP!, I cut her off" but because of my action I received a heavy slap from my mother, "I won't stop" I continued.

"I cared only about going to the city, I didn't think of the good side for my Uncle, it is all my fault, he took real good care of me and how I repay him is by killing him…." Before I finished my mum cutted me off with another slap.

"SHUT UP!, you didn't kill him, now go to your room.

"I ran into my room with my scattered uniform, I grabbed my uncle's picture portrait, I stirred at the picture for a long while, the glass on the top of the picture was filled with a flood of tears.

"Uncle Jeff, why did you leave me alone?"

Flashback over;

I have a plan.

"King Daniel, I will give you my power" I agreed.

"Chioma You don't know what you are getting yourself into, don't do this" Favour warned.

"I know what I am doing, I have to surrender, my family's life is on the line"

"Good girl, release her" King Daniel said, "But don't try anything stupid, remember I am stronger than you" he warned.

I walked down to him for the transfer to take place, "I am here, what should I do?" I asked.

"Just stand unto the circle there and kneel down" King Daniel introduced.

Now is my chance….. .

When he stretched his hands towards me blue lighted rays shot toward me, immediately I jumped out of the circle, the next thing that happened was me blasting his staff which was the source that magically held my family and my friend.

"Quickly guys, run!, I'll try to hold him off" I acted.

"Okay" everyone chorused.

"Guards!, get them!" King Daniel ordered.

"No you not" I referred to the guards as I blasted them all at once. I teleported to where my family and Friends were.

"Everyone, hold your hands!" I said.

"Why?" My mom asked.

"Just do it," I was convinced.

We all held hands through that I transferred my energy into everyone leading all of us to teleport.

We all teleported to another abandoned building.

"Is everyone okay?" I asked with a chorus replied answer by everyone.

"Ucheoma are you alright?" I asked with no reply, "Ucheoma?!" I called again.

"Where is Ucheoma?" I asked my mother.

"I haven't seen her since we teleported" she replied.

"King Daniel must have taken her," Favour said.
