Khalil prayed with them, entreating Allah for a successful outcome to the subject on his mind and when he had finished, he retraced his steps to find that Hassan had arrived home before him. They ate supper together but Khalil’s head was full of contradictory thoughts that left him unable to determine a definite course of action.
