Staciel
"I'm so sorry Stace!" Talia had been apologizing to me for half an hour already. She came to my house first thing in the morning and when I woke up she was already in my room. My uncle gave me a long scolding because when I got home last night I was already drunk and sleeping.
I looked at Jace near the door and I saw how his expression was stern. Apparently, he was planning to stay at my house last night until I got home. Now he looks unhappy seeing me drunk and the worst part is the guy whom I met recently is the one who delivered me home. I found out Talia was drunk too last night after he danced with a guy and he offered her to have a drink in a private room where they do the deed. Making out and stuff and I don't want to imagine disgusting things they did together.
"It's okay Talia. We both got home safe," I assured her because she was about to cry.
"Don't do things like that again without informing me,"Jace interrupted us. I can't help but roll my eyes. He sounded like my uncle except his forehead was not creased.
"Kids come here. Breakfast is ready," Uncle called us. Talia went off first because she literally got here after waking up. She's still wearing her snoopy-designed pajamas.
I sighed and got up. My stomach is grumbling now and my head hurts. I noticed Jace was still at the door watching me closely, so I looked at him with confusion.
"Don't you wanna go and have your breakfast?" I asked.
"I'm waiting for you," he simply answered.
I looked away before I went out. I feel him walking behind me and his gaze is still on me. Is he still thinking he could marry me?
Just then I remembered the guy I met last night. The one with blue eyes that stared back at me. Aside from his handsome features, his eyes looked familiar. It's like I saw them before, which is totally impossible, because I've never seen a man as handsome as he is. I shook my head. This is not the right time to think about him.
One step took me by surprise as I noticed that I had reached the stairs already. I was too busy thinking about that blue-eyed guy that I missteped on this staircase. I screamed in surprise and horror as I closed my eyes.
"Careful!" A voice behind me.
I felt an arm wrapped around my waist and a manly scent. I opened my eyes and found out that I was leaning on his chest as I breathed heavily due to shock.
"Are you okay Stace? Your mind is wandering off." He looked at me full of concern.
I nodded. If he wasn't here I might have fallen downstairs and knocked my head off. His arms were still around me so I turned my head on him, which was a huge mistake. His face was too close and I could feel his hot breath. My eyes widened in shock and that's when his expression changed. From a concerned look to a serious one. His grip on me tightened and his eyes bore on my lips.
Wait! What an embarrassing position! This is inappropriate! Red alert!
I wiggled myself to get out of his grasp. He let go of me easily but his eyes were locked on my lips. As if he is ready to claim them as his.
"S-should we go downstairs now?" I awkwardly broke the silence. His eyes went up at me and a smirk suddenly formed on his lips.
"Damn, what a wasted opportunity," he whispered to himself, which appeared vague to me.
"Did you say something?" I asked, but he only shook his head with a disappointed look. He then held my hand.
"Let's go now. I'm hungry," We both went to the kitchen and saw Talia eating along with my uncle. She is laughing now.
"Jace, Staciel!" Uncle called us the moment he saw us. He waved his hand and pointed to two vacant chairs alongside each other. Great, now we have to sit next to each other after that awkward scenario just a few minutes ago.
Before I could take my seat, Jace suddenly held it on his back and signaled me to sit. He has always been a gentleman, ever since we were kids. Normally, I would take this as an act of friendship, but now I know his intentions I cannot think of it the same way. He then sat beside me and I raised my brow when he filled my plate with food. Uncle noticed his actions and a small smile formed on his lips. Talia, on the other hand, is too busy stuffing foods into her mouth like she hasn't eaten for years.
"Jace, that's too much food," I stopped his hand. Seriously, what does he think of me? A hungry lion?
"You need to eat more. Look at you. You're skinny," he said. I looked at my arms and yeah, it really is skinny. I sighed.
"Class starts next month, right?" Talia asked. I nodded at her. Talia, Jace and I are now in our last year of college. Jace is going to be the next CEO of their company. Talia, on the other hand, wants to become a fashion designer. Their family runs and produces high-quality outfits and designs that are worn by famous celebrities. Me? I don't know. Both my parents aren't rich. My uncle runs a small business. His wife died last year, so it's just the two of us now. They never had children, so they treat me like I am their own child.
"I'm so excited about school starting. I can hunt guys," Talia said with a twinkle in her eyes. There she is again. A playgirl on our campus will be running wild. My uncle only laughed at her remark.
"Don't take things too far Talia," My uncle reminded her. .
