Alexander didn't respond. Instead, he took another step closer, his eyes fixed on hers. Emilis felt a shiver run down her spine as he reached out a hand, his fingers brushing against her cheek. She felt a rush of emotions, a mix of fear and excitement, as she wondered what he was doing there, in her room, in the middle of the night.
Alexander's hand dropped to his side, and Emilia's eyes snapped open, searching for answers. But Alexander's face was inscrutable, his eyes gleaming in the dim light.
"Why are you here?" Emilia asked, her voice a little stronger this time.
Alexander didn't respond. Instead, he just stared at her for a while, his hands neatly tucked into his pockets.
Alexander's eyes seemed to bore into Emilia's soul as if searching for something hidden deep within her. Then, in a low, husky voice, he asked, "Have you experienced any...disturbances in the past few days?"
Emilia's heart skipped a beat as she hesitated, unsure of how to respond. What did he mean by disturbances? And how did he know that something was amiss?
She thought back to the strange noises, the creaking floorboards, and the feeling of being watched. It had been dismissed as mere paranoia, but now, with Alexander's piercing gaze on her, Emilia wondered if there was more to it.
"Yes," she replied finally, her voice barely above a whisper. "I've heard strange noises, and I've felt like someone's been watching me. One time I saw someone."
Alexander's expression remained unreadable, but Emilia detected a flicker of interest in his eyes. "Tell me more," he urged, his voice low and commanding.
Emilia hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. But there was something about Alexander's intense gaze that made her feel like she could trust him. So, she took a deep breath and began to recount the strange occurrences that had been plaguing her.
As she spoke, Alexander listened intently, his eyes never leaving hers. Emilia felt like she was being pulled into their depths, like she was drowning in a sea of mystery and intrigue. And yet, she couldn't look away.
Alexander slowly walked around the room, his eyes scanning every nook of the space.
“Is there a reason why you keep showing up?”… “I don't even know your name”… Emilia asked as she watched him, wondering what he was looking for.
“Alexander !”… he said without looking in her direction.
"I'm Emilia!”…
As he reached the dresser, his eyes landed on a small framed picture, his expression changing from calm to intense. Emilia followed his gaze, her eyes landing on the old photograph of Ethan.
“You're related to him, aren't you?”, … Alexander asked as he picked up the photo.
“How did you know?”… Emilia asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Before she could even blink, Alexander was standing right in front of her, his face inches from hers. Emilia's heart skipped a beat as she felt a rush of adrenaline at his sudden proximity.
"I've seen his face before," Alexander whispered, his breath caressing Emilia's skin. "A long time ago."
Emilia's eyes locked onto Alexander's, her mind reeling with the implications. How had he moved so fast? And what did he mean by "a long time ago"?
Her heart was racing, her senses overwhelmed by Alexander's sudden closeness. She felt like she was drowning in his piercing gaze, unable to look away.
"What do you mean?" Emilia whispered, her voice barely audible over the sound of her heartbeat.
Alexander's eyes seemed to bore into hers as if searching for something hidden deep within. "I mean that I've been around for a very long time," he said, his voice low and mysterious.
“How long?”, she asked, letting her inquisitiveness get the best of her.
“Long enough to see things that you humans can't even imagine”.
Emilia's mind was reeling, trying to process the implications of Alexander's words. What did he mean by "around for a very long time"? And what kind of things had he seen?
Just as Emilia was about to ask another question, a knock at the door broke the spell. "Emilia, dear, are you okay?" Mrs. Jenkins' voice called out from the other side of the door.
Emilia hesitated, unsure of how to respond. She didn't want to break the intense connection she felt with Alexander, but she also didn't want to be rude to Mrs. Jenkins.
"I'm okay, Mrs. Jenkins," Emilia called out, trying to sound casual. "Just... just reading."
There was a pause, and for a moment, Emilia wondered if Mrs. Jenkins would push the issue. But then the housekeeper's voice came again, “Alright, dear. If you're sure you're okay...”, “Let me know if you need anything, child... Goodnight!”.
"Sure, Goodnight," Emilia said, trying to sound reassuring.
The sound of Mrs. Jenkins' footsteps faded away, and Emilia turned back to Alexander. He was watching her, his eyes still piercing and intense.
"Where were we?" Alexander asked, his voice barely above a whisper, low and mysterious, his gaze seemed to burn with an inner fire.
Emilia's eyes narrowed, her mind racing with questions. She opened her mouth to ask a question, but Alexander forestalled her, almost like he could tell what she wanted to ask.
"Not now, Emilia," he said, his voice low and smooth. "Not yet."
Emilia's eyes flashed with annoyance, but before she could respond, Alexander's smile grew wider. And then, in an instant, he was a blur.
Emilia blinked, her eyes struggling to keep up with Alexander's sudden movement. He zipped around the room, a whirlwind of color and motion.
Before Emilia could even react, Alexander had vanished out the door, leaving her staring into space.
Emilia's mind reeled, trying to process what had just happened. One moment, Alexander was standing in front of her, and the next, he was gone.
She stumbled backward, her legs trembling beneath her. Emilia collapsed onto her bed, her heart pounding in her chest.
As she lay there, Emilia's thoughts swirled with questions. But she knew she wouldn't find the answers anytime soon.
The room seemed to grow quieter, the silence a stark contrast to the whirlwind that had just swept through. Emilia let out a soft sigh and closed her eyes, her mind still reeling with the mystery of Alexander's superhuman speed.
