Jane wakes up to Lacy getting ready for work. She put on dark blue jeans that made her ass look good with a black work shirt. "You wore that when I asked you out," Jane stated with a scratchy voice. A smile appeared on both of their faces. Lacy went to the bathroom and started putting on makeup. Jane followed her. Lacy saw her looking around and told her they were outside. Jane looked up at her and said, "You know you look beautiful without makeup." Lacy smirked and applied lipstick. "Damn sexy." Kyle said. Jane elbowed him in the stomach and Lacy laughed. Lacy got done and went to the kitchen. She glanced at the time, and she needed to leave now. She grabbed an apple, kissed Jane and hugged Kyle goodbye.
When she walked out, Kyle looked at Jane with a stern look. "I know you didn't tell her." He stated. Jane ignored that comment and asked when he worked today. He rolled his eyes and told her he was going in at one and getting off at five. He asked her, and she said she doesn't work today, but Lacy thinks she goes in at three. They notice the news is talking about the blood moon happening tonight, which puts them on edge because the blood moon makes their wolf side more powerful and their emotions uncontrollable. Kyle grabbed a bottle of orange juice. He takes a sip of it and a wave of anger rushes through him before he can calm down. He snapped. He slams the bottle down, making the juice go everywhere. Jane jumped at the sudden act and asked, "What the hell is wrong with you?" "You need to tell her tonight, or I will!" Kyle screamed at her. Anger boiled inside of him thinking how Jane was playing with his mate's heart, Lacy.
He sees how Lacy truly cares about Jane, and she is just playing with her emotions. He has to get away from Jane, or he will attack her. He could feel his skin tingle like little needles stabbing him. He stormed to his bedroom and slammed the door. Jane sighs and shakes her head. It's probably the moon making his emotions crazy. She thought. She grabbed a towel and cleaned up the orange juice. They didn't talk to each other for the rest of the day.
Lacy drives home from work. She worked overtime the first day back. She loved working in the bookshop, so she didn't mind helping them. Jane texted her stating they needed to talk. Lacy was thinking about what she wanted to talk about. Lacy went to the house and was welcomed by her beloved dogs. She knelt down to pet them. She heads to the kitchen to check if they have some food and fresh water. She saw that both of the bowls were empty. She opened the fridge and saw half of a steak. She took it out and saw them going crazy, so she took it and chopped it up. She got them fresh water.
The smell of food made her stomach growl. She searched for something to eat and found nothing. She doesn't want to go to the store, but her stomach says she has to. She walked outside to her car and a breeze hit her making her shiver. On the way to the store she felt kinda funny. She had never felt like this before. She brushed it off, thinking maybe she was just tired from work after being out for so long. 10 minutes later, she arrived at the store. The funny feeling subsided. She made sure to grab enough food to last a couple of days. Luckily, she has an emergency credit card to use.
When she gets back to the house and puts all the food away, it is just a beautiful day out. She put Roxy and Sam in the car and drove to a secret spot she goes to when she needs fresh air. She arrived at a meadow and let the dogs out to run around while she sat down and enjoyed the view. The funny feeling came back but a little stronger this time. She felt like a caged animal that wanted to be free when she was at the house with Jane and Kyle. They are always on top of her, mostly Jane. She lay down and watched the birds fly above her.
She was woken up by Roxy and Sam licking her face. She didn't realize she had fallen asleep. The sun had begun to set. She looked at her phone and it was 6 pm. She shot up, gathered the dogs and headed back. By the time they got to the house, it was dark. She let Roxy and Sam inside to let them eat and drink. Lacy looked up at the blood moon. She was amazed by it. She walked down the driveway to get a clearer view. The funny feeling came back. The longer she stared at the moon, the feeling got stronger. Pain shot up her back and caused her to yell out in pain and fall to her knees. She tried to stand up, but her right leg snapped backwards.
Two people she had never met came up to her. Lacy tries to think about what is happening to her, but the pain is too much. Her body was shaking and sweating. Her eyes burn and begin to change. She could see better in the dark. Her back snapped and arched up. "Calm down and focus on breathing." The lady said sweetly. Lacy managed to turn to look at who said that. She saw a woman with caramel skin and hazel eyes. A gentle hand stroked her hair. She looked over to the other side and saw a white male with one green eye and one brown. Every time she tries to use her brain, a sharp pain shoots through her body.
With every little movement, pain hit her. Whenever she lets out a scream, they try to calm her down. Lacy's face begins to stretch out and form into a wolf's face. It feels like someone is ripping her face completely off. Fur started to replace her skin. It feels like someone is stabbing her all over with needles. She tried to scream but all that came out was a howl. Lacy looked down at her hands and saw, felt her hands snap and transform into paws. A mixer of sweat and tears fell from her face. Lacy felt a rag of some sort on her forehead. ""You're doing great Lacy. You will get used to this and learn to control it."" The man said with a soft tone. It felt like a lifetime before she got done changing and the pain stopped. Lacy started to get up when she caught her breath. Her legs are still shaky. After a few seconds later, she shook her fur to shake away the last bit of pain that lingered. She felt free, she lifted all of her paws one by one.
Lacy walked forward a couple of steps, then turned to look at the people that were helping her. They have a look of shock on their faces, as Lacy stares at their eyes, they remind her of her dogs. Especially the guy's eyes being the same color as Sam the dog. She tilt her in confusion. The guy started to head to the house. It scared Lacy, and she quickly stepped in front of him. He slowly walked backwards with his hands up. The lady pulled out her camera on her phone. Lacy's eyes widened. Her fur is silver like her hair and her eyes are purple. She doesn't understand. Lacy looked down at her paws. Her fur swayed in the wind.
When she looked up at the two people, instead she was looking at her dogs. She backed up a little bit. "It's OK Lacy, you need to follow us." Sam said, walking up to her. Lacy's head is swimming. She can't think of anything logical at this point. All she can think of asking is what happened to her. Before she could ask that question, they started to walk behind the house. She slowly followed them. When they walked into the woods, Roxy and Sam started to run. She followed them. Lacy had never felt this free before.
