June.
His hand left mine roughly, and he took a step back, when he saw that we were being watched.
“You should lower your tone, June.”
“When you tried to hurt me?”
He glared at me. “I was not hurting you, I wanted to talk, you were the one who tried to be messy first.”
“Can you spare me that, Kelvin? I don’t f**k with you or your boyfriend.” He tried to hold me again, and I hit his hand off. “I have nothing to say to you.”
“I’m going to get back at you for what you did.”
I huffed and stared at him in disbelief. “You and Ralph hurt me and deceived me for two years, I should have been the one saying that, not you, f*****g bastard.” I pushed him off my path.
“You ruined us, June.” He spoke behind me, and I turned and gave him a look. “You must be kidding me, Kelvin.”
“You know what you did,”
I gritted out. “I did nothing.”
“I’m going to come back for you, I will f**k you up, I promise you that.” He spat and turned the other way. I watched him walk out of the hall, and when the next touch came on my shoulders I flinched.
“It’s me, June, are you okay?”
“I’m fine, Ari.” I clasped my hand over Ariana’s and we both stared in the direction that Kelvin had taken.
“Why was he acting that way?”
“He said I ruined him, I never did anything to him or Ralph. I just left, was that enough to ruin him?”
“I heard they broke up,” Ariana muttered, and I turned to her.
“They broke up?”
“That’s what I heard,” She shrugged. “…and Kelvin has been acting crazy ever since.”
“Do you know why they broke up?”
She shook her head. “I couldn’t find that out,”
“If they broke up, how did that get to me?”
“I have no idea what Kelvin is thinking, but I don’t want you stressing yourself over it, so come on.”
“We are having dinner after the exhibition, you should join us, I don’t want you out of my sight, and I noticed that you were about to leave earlier.”
“I just went out for some air.” I gave a flat lie which she bought.
“It’s at the house, and I want us to be together.”
I didn’t want to see him, but how was I supposed to tell that to Ariana?
“So you’re going to stick with me till the end of it, you’re not leaving.”
“I’m not leaving,” I said with a small smile, and wrapped my arms, my body, and a place to sit before it ended. I wasn’t the social type, I never knew how to function properly in an event, but Ariana seemed like she was made for this.
She was the Alpha’s daughter, so I guess they do have it in them.
We were having dinner to celebrate Ariana’s successful exhibition, Felicia was there as well, she sat on the right side of the Alpha, close to the table, beside him.
I was at the other end with Mr. Belt.
And Ariana was holding a glass of wine, they were talking, flirting, and having a time for themselves at the table, and I didn’t want to be here, but I had to remind myself that the reason I was here was because of Ariana.
“Will you spend the night?”
“I have to go home, I will be at the pack hospital tomorrow, sorry, Ari,” I said and picked up a glass of water, and drank from it. I didn’t have any appetite for a meal, and I hope they didn’t notice that I barely touched my meal.
“Can you take June home? It’s almost midnight and I want her to get home safe.”
“Sure sweetheart.”
She stood up from her chair and hugged Felicia, she kissed her on the cheek.
“Your Dad is supposed to take me home.”
“You can always go with Mr. Belt, Felicia, or wait for him to come back,” Ari replied, and she didn’t say anything else.
“I’m so tired.” Ariana yawned, holding her glass of wine as she took the stairs.
I didn’t have to talk to the other woman, I didn’t want to be introduced to her either, they seemed to have known her for a while. I wasn’t going to compete with that.
I was quite sensitive even though I tried not to care, I just couldn’t help but notice.
“I got you something.” I heard him say during the ride home, we were only in the car, and he was the one driving. And I kept my gaze off him the entire time.
“I don’t think I need anything from you, Alpha,” I said without looking at him.
He kept driving and said no words for a minute.
“Why?”
“I don’t want to be indebted to anyone.”
“You don’t have to pay me anything.”
“I got them for you, because I wanted you to have them.”
“I kept them at your house, you will see them when you get home, you seem not to be in a good mood tonight, and I think I’m making it worse.”
“That’s only one thing you got right.”
He placed his hand over my thigh, I wanted to take it off, tell him to take his hands off me but I couldn’t. He caressed it gently with his hand, and his other hand kept driving.
I exhaled deeply, swallowing down the words that I wanted to say to his face.
His hand moved up and down my thighs, “You look beautiful in green.”
“You look beautiful in everything.”
“You’re just that beautiful.”
I would have sworn that I was angry at him a while ago, but now, I just want to grab his face and kiss him, I want to kiss him so hard that my lips start to burn.
Our gaze locked for a second, I was hoping he could hear my thoughts, and what I wanted to do with him.
He broke eye contact and stared at the road.
“Kazimir.” He said with his gaze up front.
“That’s my name.”
“I want you to call me that.”
“I have never heard anyone call your name, not even Ari does that.”
“But you can.” He cast a swift glance my way.
“Because I want you to.”
“Go on, say it.”
I parted my lips and called out his name. “Kazimir.”
He nodded as I did it right.
“That’s how I want you moaning my name.”
