June.
I got to my room and slammed my door, leaning over it slowly, I couldn’t even believe that had happened. The Alpha was outside and I needed to get dressed. Because I couldn’t keep him waiting for that long.
I covered my face with my hands, buried in my own embarrassment.
“Is this decent enough?” I ran my hand through the dress, he dropped the magazine from his hand, dropped his crossed legs, and looked at me and nodded curtly.
“Let’s go.”
I dropped my hands to the side, and picked up the things I needed from the table, followed him out through the door.
I noticed he had a spare key to my apartment, and I wanted to ask him why he had one. He could get in and out of the house whenever he wanted to. Mr Belt wasn’t the one driving, it was someone else, and I kept quiet the entire ride, even though the Alpha was just beside me. Each time I glanced at him, his eyes were on the magazine from earlier, which was what he was reading the whole time.
“Alpha we are here.”
The door was open for me, and I stepped out, holding my backpack along with me. The pack hospital was huge, not as I had imagined, it was a lot bigger than I thought.
“Alpha.”
“Yes, we have been expecting her.”
“There she is…”
He took a step aside because I was behind him. “June Hopper.” He said my name to the director of the hospital, and he went ahead to take my hand.
“Good to see you, June.”
“Good to see you…” I stared at the name tag on his shirt. “Doctor Marcus.”
He nodded at me, and let go of my hand.
“I’m going to do my best, Doctor.” I was ready to learn, the look he gave me had a slight doubt either way, he took me on a tour of the hospital, and introduced me to the door that I was going to be working under. The Alpha was quiet the whole time but he came with us, even when he didn’t have to.
He was there as if he wanted to make it seem there was someone at my side. I was shown my locker and bunk bed just in case I needed to rest or sleep over at the hospital because of work.
When I felt his hand on my shoulder with a gentle squeeze, I sighed and spun around to face him. “Are you okay?”
“Yes, Alpha.”
“Thank you for being here.”
The tour was over and I needed to start assisting, I had just changed into my scrub, and the Alpha was with Mr Belt.
“It was nothing.”
“If there’s any time you feel discomfort let me know,”
I smiled softly. “I can handle it, Alpha.”
“You don’t have to worry, everything will be fine.”
He studied my expression, I was just trying to be positive about it. I didn't want to have any trouble thinking about my stay and work here.
“Burgundy looks good on you.” He muttered with his eyes still fixed on my scrubs.
“Thank you, Alpha.”
“I will see you at the exhibition tomorrow.”
“Yes, Alpha,” I replied.
He beckoned to Mr Belt, and he left the doctor he was talking with and came to the Alpha, his eyes met mine and we lowered our heads at each other. I watched him leave, I couldn’t feel that anxiety because he was there the whole time, talking into the conversation and then the doctors were stiff as they talked as if they had practiced their speech.
“.., it’s hard for someone from a low pack in Emerald college to be here. You sure are using the advantage of being friends with the Alpha’s daughter quite well.” I heard the sharp voice behind me, and turned slowly,
“And do you have a problem with that?”
“You don’t belong here,”
“And who are you to decide that?” I shot back and folded my arms and stared at the lady who might be the same age as well, she was around six feet, with long brown hair and brown eyes.
“I can smell your weak and sick wolf.”
“How can you take care of others when you cannot even take care of yourself? You just enjoy the benefits, that’s why you are here.”
“I’m sure you heard that I’m the top student."
She chuckled, “You are so silly.”
“Riri, that's enough.” Someone cut in, she was black, and Pettie was around 5 '2, she didn’t seem more than that, she walked down to her side. “You should leave her alone.”
“I hate seeing people like that just study and don’t even have passion for it, and now here because of some benefits.”
“You are just mad because you’re not benefiting from it either, if it had been you, I’m sure you won’t be saying this right now, and I have nothing to prove to you, you can think whatever you like.”
Riri bit her lips. “The Alpha won’t hesitate to throw you out if you make just one mistake, you have no idea the kind of man he is.”
“I’m not ready to find out.”
She chuckled bitterly. “You don’t even have to because soon he’s going to show you his claws, and that’s when you will know.”
“I did nothing wrong.”
“What if you did something?”
“Riri.” The girl pulled her off my side and started to drag her along the hallway. They wore the same scrubs as I did, she made me start to think if there was something wrong in being here, or if she just hated the fact that she saw me with the Alpha.
I couldn’t pick which, but it just had to be one.
Ariana’s exhibition was finally happening, and I was going to be there for her tonight. I already had my dress ready, I will leave the hospital on time, and be in time to get dressed for the event. I should let her know how proud I am, so I didn’t intend to go to the exhibition empty-handed.
I got her some flowers, a bracelet from her favorite jewelry company. It cost a fortune, but Ariana was worth every penny.
When I got to the exhibition, with a woman at his side, her arm linked around his, she had kissed him, his hand had moved down to her waist to grab her ass, and kissed her back.
