June.
I held tight to him, my fingernails scaling his back. I gasped for breath, feeling the need for him to be there, right where I needed him.
“Ah…” I couldn’t hold it in.
My eyes rolled to my back, and I needed him to keep going as hard as he could. I could take all of it.
My eyes opened, and my hand was on the side of my lower region. The room I was in wasn’t pink, it was painted brown, a large bed with a white sheet, the masculine scent, the brown wardrobe at the side of the room, and the golden chandelier.
I didn’t need anyone to tell me this wasn’t Ariana’s room.
I stared at the bed and under the covers, I wasn’t in my dress, I was without my clothes.
I rubbed my forehead, trying to remember what had happened and how I ended up here. I glanced through the bed for something to put on, but there was a black shirt on the chair.
I had to get up to get it, I got up from bed, went to put the black shirt on, and had a silly dream that I had.
The door opened without a warning.
“You startled me, I was getting dressed…” I said and combed my messy hair with my hand, and he closed the door while his gaze assessed me. “Did you sleep well?”
The shirt smelled of him, and quite big for me. This man was forty last month, June.
He was stirring something in a cup.
“I’m sorry, I don’t remember …”
He stopped stirring, and dropped the cup on the table. He walked down to me. He looked everywhere in the room except his face. “Did something happen last night?”
“What do you think?” He asked, and I shut my eyes for a minute, trying to remember the last thing I did.
And the words I said to him raced back into my head.
“I want you to f**k me better than he did.” I and my wolf drowning in embarrassment in front of him.
I couldn’t believe I said that to him.
It was because of the drink, it wasn’t me.
His face was before me. “Do you remember?”
I held his gaze, the curve of his lips, the shape of his lips, and the sound of my heart.
“We didn’t do anything,” I said, breaking eye contact, and in a second I saw his lips curl in a smile.
“How are you so sure?”
“You wouldn’t touch me.”
The smile had gone out of his face, the look on his face as if he was studying me. In a split second, I thought his lips were going to come down to mine.
“Ari will be home soon. You don’t want her to see you in my clothes. I don’t think she would understand that nothing happened.”
I wished he had kissed me instead, and told me that he had touched me, but I knew he didn’t.
He walked back to the table and picked up a mug, stirred. “Come sit.”
I swallowed and walked to the table. His hand went to my waist, and he pulled me up to the table and I got a flashback of last night inside the bathroom. His fingers went through my hair for a second, and then my cheek, my nose, and my lips, which inadvertently parted.
“Drink, and go.” He placed the mug in my hand and walked into the bathroom.
I drank from it, it tasted bitter, and I couldn’t take it anymore. I kept the mug back on the table and left the room.
Ariana’s room was down the hallway, her name was on her door, and I didn't want any of the servants seeing me in this T-shirt. My headache seemed like it was getting worse, so I opened the door, and the room was a bit messy from last night. I went into the bathroom for a bath.
“The Alpha asked me to have them washed when we came to work this morning, and I had to make sure they were dried before I gave them to you.”
“Thank you.” I took my dress from the servant.
“You don’t have to thank me, I’m only doing my job,” She lowered her head at me and stepped out. The only thing that was missing was my heels.
I couldn’t give her his T-shirt, I kept it in the bag that I was taking home, my dress and heels that I wore were ordered.
“You’re home.”
“I had a blast!” She laughed and lay on the bed.
“It was one of the best birthdays I have ever had. I can’t believe he let me do everything that I wanted.”
“You mean your Dad.”
“Yeah.”
She rolled over and stared at me. “And you were fun last night, it was so fun watching the nerdy June get drunk.”
I chuckled.
“Have breakfast with us before you leave,” She said and sat up. “After we were dancing and Jimin came, there was no way to reach you, and before I left the house, I couldn’t find you. I thought you left with Ralph. I never knew you were going to lock yourself up in my room the whole time, you silly girl.”
She sighed. “I heard about Ralph this morning. Kelvin was the one who told me, I was calling to know if you were still with him.”
“That dog doesn’t deserve you, you know that.”
“Yeah.” I let out an estranged sigh.
“Come here.” She stretched out her arms for an embrace, and I took it, falling into her arms.
“You are going to be okay, you have me remember.”
“I know,” I replied with a sigh.
“Miss Ariana, the Alpha is waiting at the dining table, he said, five minutes.” The maid announced at the door.
She groaned as we parted. “I hate him.”
I laughed and watched her get up.
Whatever he gave me in his room, did help with my headache.
“Why are you still sitting?” She stared at me when she was at the door. “We are eating together.”
“Ari, I don’t think I can.”
“Don’t be scared, he’s not going to do anything to hurt you.”
“I know how my father is, that’s why I never wanted to introduce you to him. He might be harsh, condemning, but this isn’t the first time you’ve met him June, so come.”
It was entirely something else. The reason I wanted to keep my distance from him.
I went downstairs with Ariana, and we talked all the way about random stuff, but the second I came in contact with him, my lips clamped shut.
He was already seated at the head of the table, his arms folded, everyone walking on edge around him. He was sipping from the mug he gave me earlier. I thought it was not supposed to be shared, or did he perhaps share it with me?
“Let’s eat.”
I pulled out a chair and sat down, opposite Ariana.
He barely ate. I noticed how picky he was with the food.
On the table, and everything was exactly Ariana’s favorite, which she ate delightfully.
“What do you like, June?”
The hiccup came out of nowhere. How could he ask me that right here?
