Chapter 5: The Report  “So now comes the hard part.” Ray said while they  entered the police station. Sam looked at him “No it’s not… sandy took pictures of all the marks and bruises  Michael gave me and I still have some.” she said pulling  up one of her sleeves showing bruises all up her arm. Ray  felt his anger coming up as he looked at the hand prints  made on her skin. She quickly covered her arm up and   looked away “let’s get this over with.” She said walking to the front desk, the desk clerk smiled at them. “Well what  can I do for you two?” the young lady asked.  Sam opened her button down shirt to reveal her tank top  underneath and all of the bruises that she’d gotten from  Michael. The young woman looked at the marks and then  at Ray “Oh no he’s my assistant, my ex gave me these and  I’d like to report him.” Sam said saving his butt, the young clerk gave a sigh of relief and got a detective on the phone  to come talk to them. A female detective came out to talk   to Sam. “Well well well Samantha Steele what are you  doing here?” the officer said as she walked over. Sam  turned around and the officer was Rebecca Knowles, an  old high school friend.  Her face turned quickly, “Who did this to you Sam?” she  asked analyzing her bruises which made Sam a little bit uncomfortable but she let it slide because she knew she  had to do it for her sake. “My ex did this… I made the foolish mistake of letting him back in my life and this is what I got for it.” She said and Rebecca looked at her “No woman deserves this Sam… no matter if they did anything or not ok?” She said strongly then got down to the routine questions. Rebecca didn’t hide her uncertainty “I don’t know if we’re  gonna be able to get him Sam… he is pretty popular he  knows all the big guys and not to mention he’s one of the  best.” She said looking sad. Sam knew all of that already  and she was ready to take that on. She looked at Becca  and said “don’t worry I’m pretty popular too and I’m willing to face this head on and if I need to go to extremes  to win… then I will.” Said and Ray nodded his head “She’s  got me so we’ll get through this together, there’s no way  we’re gonna let them keep him out of jail after what he did to her.” He said feeling his rage coming on so he  stopped and calmed down.  “We’ll bring him in but the chances of him staying are slim, I’ll do my best to see that he gets his.” Rebecca said  as Sam put her shirt back on. Ray and Sam left the station  and met up with Sandy. They ate lunch at the nearest café and decided to talk about what is the next move is gonna  be. “I think you should get a lawyer Sam it wouldn’t be a  good thing to try to defend yourself in court trust me.”  Ray said looking at her but she shook her head. “I have to  be on guard and who thinks Michael isn’t gonna defend  himself?” she asked  “Even if he was defending himself you’d still need your  own lawyer, Michael is very good at getting people on his  side.” Sandy said sipping her double chocolate Latte. Sam  honestly didn’t know what to do, she felt backed in a corner between a rock and a hard place. She knew defending herself would be taking a huge risk and she was ready to do it but talking it over with Ray and Sandy really  made her question her judgment on this case. She looked  at them and sighed. “I guess I might as well get a lawyer.”  She said looking exhausted.   “Well I guess I’ll see you two later… I have a family to take care of… a mother and wife’s duties are never done.”  Sandy said getting up and walking out the door and since there was nothing else to talk about, they decided to head  back to the house. “Well this was an eventful day wasn’t  it?” she said coming inside behind him, but Raymond  stayed silent and Sam tried to get his attention “Hey  what’s up?” she asked squeezing passed him to see Michael sitting in the living room.  “Samantha… we need to talk.” He said walking towards her but once again like the last time he was there  Raymond in between the two of them. “I don’t  understand… I tell you I’m sorry for doing what I did to  you and now I’m being brought in for questioning? WHAT TYPE OF BULLSHIT IS THIS!!!?” he yelled while trying to  get close to her but Ray pushed him back. “I’m gonna need you to stay back man.” Ray said calmly and he had  no choice but to comply. “Michael saying sorry isn’t  enough to make these marks and scars go away and you had no right to hit me… you don’t hit the one you love but  I guess you never loved me in the first place did you?” she  asked crying now. He couldn’t answer that question and  he knew it so she continued. “I had to do this for me Michael you can’t get away for doing what you did.”   Michael stood there for a minute, then began to laugh  “It’s gonna be my word against yours and I’m a very  popular man Sam… what makes you think you’re going to win this case? You only won the boy’s case by luck but this  time… you’re not going anywhere with this.” He said as he left. Sam looked up at Ray with tears in her eyes, she  turned around to him wrapped her arms around his neck  and kissed him. Ray picked her up and carried her to the  bedroom and still kissing he laid her on the bed. He knew  this was what he wanted and she wanted it too but he  couldn’t shake the feeling that this was too fast and it  wasn’t the right time. “Sam… I need you but I need to  know if you really want this?” Ray said holding back his  emotions.  “I want this…more than you know.” She said pulling him  on the bed. She kissed him while he worked his way to  unbutton her shirt but she pulled away. “Ray… my scars.” She said but he kissed her. “I don’t care Sam… you’re still beautiful to me and I want you to see that.” He said  kissing her while he traced his hands up her skirt. She  couldn’t help but blush and when she felt his fingers near  her c**t she jumped in surprise, his hands were warm and  soft not cold and rough like Michael’s. It was like nothing Sam had ever felt before. He started flicking her c**t with one finger and used his other hand to enter her.   She moaned from his carnal pleasure and just when she thought he was gonna take her over the edge he stopped and just looked at her. “Not yet Sam I want you to enjoy  every minute slowly.” He said smiling at her and with that  he got down, spread her thighs apart and went in for the kill. Sam gasped when she felt his tongue licking and flicking her and she could feel her climax coming but just  as soon as she was about to c*m he stopped. She tried to use her fingers to finish that push but he stopped her and  restrained her hands. He kissed her slowly as he entered  her which caught her by surprise and she let out a loud  moan.  He started pumping in and out of her and it felt like  everything she dreamed of, his pace got faster and she  could feel her climax getting closer. She held onto him  tight and got ready for her climax as did he and they came  together. The next morning they woke up next to each  other and both smiled. “I love you” she said and Ray’s  eyes widened “what did you just say?” he said shocked.  She grabbed and held his head and said “I love you Raymond… and I’m glad you saved me…” he kissed her until the both fell asleep again.  They woke up later to loud banging on the door, Ray got  ready to get up but she stopped him. “I’ll get it it’s  probably the police they said someone would come over  for more questions.” She said getting up and putting his  robe on, she got to the door and opened it; Michael  brushed passed her and went straight for Raymond.  “Michael stop it now, you have no right to be he…” but she  didn’t get to finish her sentence because he hit her. Ray  came to get him away from her but Michael knocked him  out then turned to her.   She screamed and tried to get away but he grabbed her,  after that everything went black… Ray called her name as he shook her and her eyes flew open; she looked around  the room in a panic. She turned to see Ray next to her and  sighed with relief “It was just a dream… a horrible,   horrible dream” she said holding him. He rubbed her back slowly to calm her down and she looked up. “I just want  this to be over and done with” she said hugging him, he looked at her and made a promise. “We’ll get passed this  Sam… together and trust me he’ll never bother you again.  I don’t care how popular he is, he’ll get what he  deserves.” He said with a stern face.  She smiled softly and kissed his cheek, she then got up  and went to the kitchen to fix breakfast. He couldn’t  believe how she was acting… it was a totally different  Samantha, this was the vulnerable Samantha, this was the  side of her that he wanted to see but not the way it’s  been forced by Michael. He went to the kitchen to check  on her and he gasped when he saw her at the stove.  There was a glow to her brown skin that filled the room and her jet black hair shined in the sunlight. He was caught staring when she turned around and gave him a smirk.  “You like what you see?” she asked walking to the table  and he smiled. She put one of the big plates on the table and asked him to help her with the rest of the food on the  table. They were about to eat when who should come in?  Sandy. “Hey.” She said with a big smile walking in the  dining room, Rays eyes narrowed “How did you get in  here Sandra if you don’t mind me asking?” he said with his brow raised. “Oh that’s easy there was a key under the  welcome mat.” She said sitting next to Sam.  They all started talking about the upcoming trail against Michael and out of nowhere Sam asks “what if he wins  and he just goes and does this to another girl?” Ray shook  his head. “I don’t think even Michael has that kind of hold  on any judge but even if he does we will do whatever it  takes to get him put away.” He said looking at Sam. Sandy got up from the table and put their plates in the sink and  asked “So Ray don’t you have classes anymore? I thought  being law school meant going to class every day.” Ray laughed and answered. “Sam created a program for students to be her assistant and all we have to do is check  in with all of our professors, I contact all of mine via Email  or Facebook.”   Sam added “yeah out of all the students I’ve had here  before Raymond he’s the only one that stayed throughout  the program and he’s graduating soon… I couldn’t be  more proud of him.” They smiled at each other and Sandy gave a big grin and announced “well I better get going  thanks for the breakfast now I’m off to enjoy peace and quiet cause the kids are with their dad.” She said smiling  and leaving the room. The room was silent for about 5  minutes but was then broken by the doorbell.   Ray went to open the door and it was a police officer  telling him that they have Michael in custody for questioning. later my graduation is today so I won’t be in the office  today because my family is here for the ceremony.” He  said looking at the calendar and she frowned. She totally  forgot about his graduation and she really wanted to go  but she had a lot of work to do and she knew nothing was  gonna get done if she didn’t go in today and she knew   deep down that he knew she was proud of him and how  far he’s come.
