Chapter 4: The Final Decision
Raymond stood at the door anxious to hear and answer, he was damn near sweating. She looked at him and smiled
“I’m choosing you.” She said as she ran into his arms. “Oh Sam… come on you can stay at my place tonight.” He said hugging her close. “I didn’t pack any clothes…” she began to say but as if she was reading her mind Sandy came out of Sam’s room with a big suitcase with all of her clothes. “What? I had a feeling you were gonna choose him so I packed all your clothes.” She said pulling the suitcase to
the door.
They all got to the door and looked at the apartment one last time, Raymond found himself asking her “are you sure this is what you want?” She looked up at him and hugged him close “yes I’d rather be with good friends than getting
the life beaten out of me, to be honest I couldn’t take it anymore.” She said and both Sandy and Ray were proud of her. They left the apartment and made their way to Ray’s house to put Sam’s clothes away. “You know this is the first time I’ve been to your place… it really is nice.” Samantha said looking it over. She couldn’t believe he could afford this place with the salary she’s paying him.
“Here is some of the new information on that night that Harry was talking about, the story he was telling is true we did a background check on the guy that wants to press charges and he was in Belleview for 5 years then when he was released he never took his medication.” He said, “Does Michael have a copy of this?” she asked getting right to the point. “That we don’t know but we can talk to Harry and tell him the little ray of light we’ve found today.” He said smiling “we could win this Sam.” He said standing behind her.
Back at Sam’s apartment, Michael came in to check up on her like he promised but to his surprise she wasn’t there. He found a note in her handwriting on the counter in the kitchen. “Dear Michael I’m sorry I had to do it this way but there was no other choice. We can’t be together anymore, I realized that what you do to me… I don’t deserve it at all and I can do better. I hope you understand that I’m doing this for my own good and that I forgive you for everything but it’s time for me to move on. I hope you have a good Life Michael…. Love Sam
