The Orders

Melzgad took off after Aria, his feet pounding the ground as he chased after her. "Aria, wait!" he called out, but she didn't slow down. He caught up to her just as she was about to turn a corner. He reached out and grabbed her arm, spinning her around to face him. "Aria, please listen to me," he said, his eyes locked on hers. "I don't want to be against you. I value our friendship and I don't want to lose it." Aria's expression was cold and hard, but Melzgad could see the hurt and anger simmering beneath the surface. "You're choosing them over me," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "You're choosing the Order of Flames over our friendship." Melzgad shook his head. "No, Aria, that's not true. I'm not choosing anyone over you. I'm just trying to do what's right." Aria's eyes flashed with anger. "What's right?" she repeated. "You call joining the Order of Flames 'right'? They're the ones who have been trying to destroy the timeline, Melzgad. They're the ones who have been causing all the chaos and destruction." Melzgad took a deep breath, trying to calm Aria down. "I know that's what they've been doing, Aria. But I also know that they're not all bad. There are some good people in the Order of Flames, people who genuinely want to help and protect the timeline." Aria's expression didn't change, but Melzgad could see the faintest glimmer of doubt in her eyes. He pressed on, trying to convince her. "I'm not saying that I agree with everything the Order of Flames does, Aria. But I am saying that I think they have the potential to be a force for good. And I want to be a part of that." Aria's gaze held his for a long moment, and then she looked away, her shoulders sagging in defeat. "I don't know if I can trust you anymore, Melzgad," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. Melzgad felt a pang of sadness and regret. He knew that he had hurt Aria's trust, and he wasn't sure how to repair it. "Aria, please," he said, reaching out to her. "Don't say that. I'm still the same person I've always been. I'm still your friend." Aria looked up at him, her eyes shining with tears. "I don't know if that's true anymore, Melzgad," she said. "You're getting deeper and deeper into the Order of Flames, and I don't know if you'll ever be able to get out." Melzgad felt a surge of frustration. Why couldn't Aria see that he was trying to do the right thing? "I'm trying to protect the timeline, Aria," he said. "I'm trying to make sure that the Order of Flames doesn't a***e its power." Aria shook her head. "You're not thinking about the bigger picture, Melzgad," she said. "You're not thinking about what could happen if the Order of Flames gets its hands on your will in sync with the Crystal of Atlas." Melzgad felt a chill run down his spine. He knew that Aria was right. He was taking a huge risk by joining the Order of Flames. But he also knew that he couldn't turn his back on them now. He had to see this through, no matter what happened. "Aria, I understand your concerns," he said. "But I have to do this. I have to try to make a difference." Aria looked at him for a long moment, and then she turned and walked away, leaving Melzgad feeling sad and uncertain. Melzgad watched as Aria walked away, feeling a sense of sadness and loss. He knew that he had hurt her, and he wasn't sure how to repair their friendship. But as he stood there, he had an epiphany. He realized that the conflict between the Order of the Veil and the Order of Flames was unnecessary. Both orders had the same goal: to protect the timeline. The only difference was in their methods. The Order of the Veil believed in maintaining the status quo, while the Order of Flames believed in taking a more proactive approach. Melzgad's eyes lit up as he realized that he could bring the two orders together. He could merge them into a single, more powerful organization that would be able to protect the timeline more effectively. Excited by his idea, Melzgad set off to find Roy and Zara. He found them in the same room where they had first met. "I've had an idea," Melzgad said, barely containing his excitement. "We can merge the Order of the Veil and the Order of Flames into a single organization." Roy and Zara exchanged a skeptical glance. "That's not possible," Roy said. "The two orders have been at odds for centuries." Melzgad nodded. "I know it won't be easy," he said. "But I believe it's necessary. We can't keep fighting each other. We have to work together if we want to protect the timeline." Zara raised an eyebrow. "And what makes you think you can bring the two orders together?" she asked. Melzgad smiled. "I'm the only one who can," he said. "I'm the only one who has connections to both orders." Roy and Zara looked at each other, and then back at Melzgad. "Okay," Roy said. "We'll support you. But it won't be easy." Melzgad grinned. "I know it won't," he said. "But I'm ready for the challenge." Melzgad stood before the leaders of the Order of the Veil and the Order of Flames, his heart pounding with excitement and nerves. He had spent countless hours gathering support from members of both orders, and he was confident that his plan to merge the two orders would be met with enthusiasm. "I propose that we merge the Order of the Veil and the Order of Flames into a single organization," he said, his voice clear and confident. "Together, we can protect the timeline more effectively and efficiently." The leaders of both orders looked at each other, and then back at Melzgad. The leader of the Order of the Veil, a tall and imposing figure with a stern expression, spoke first. "I don't think this is a good idea," he said. "The Order of Flames has always been a thorn in our side, trying to disrupt the natural order of things. Why would we want to merge with them?" The leader of the Order of Flames, a man with a strong jaw and piercing eyes, shot back. "And why would we want to merge with you?" he asked. "The Order of the Veil has always been so rigid and inflexible, refusing to adapt to changing circumstances. We are the ones who are truly committed to protecting the timeline." Melzgad listened patiently as the two leaders continued to argue. He had expected this reaction, and he was prepared to address their concerns. "I understand your reservations," he said. "But I truly believe that merging our two orders is the best way to protect the timeline. We can pool our resources and expertise, and work together to address the challenges that we face." The leader of the Order of the Veil scoffed. "And what makes you think that we would be able to work together?" he asked. "We have fundamentally different philosophies and approaches." Melzgad nodded. "I understand that," he said. "But I also know that we share a common goal: to protect the timeline. And I believe that, despite our differences, we can find common ground and work together towards that goal." The leader of the Order of Flames spoke up. "I must admit, Melzgad, that I am intrigued by your proposal," he said. "And I think I have a solution that could work for both of our orders." "What is it?" Melzgad asked. "I think you should be the new leader of the merged organization," the leader of the Order of Flames said. "You have shown great wisdom and leadership skills, and I believe you are the only one who can bring our two orders together." Melzgad was taken aback by the suggestion. He had not expected to be put forward as the leader of the merged organization. But as he thought about it, he realized that it made sense. He was the one who had brought the two orders together, and he was the one who had a vision for a united timeline. "I accept," Melzgad said finally. "I will do everything in my power to lead our merged organization and protect the timeline." The leader of the Order of the Veil nodded, a small smile on his face. "I think we can work together," he said. "Let us begin this new chapter in our history." And with that, the leaders of both orders extended their hands, and Melzgad shook them, sealing the deal. The merger of the Order of the Veil and the Order of Flames was officially underway, with Melzgad as its new leader.
