Chapter 1 - Can She Come?

“Alpha?” Lexi asked.

“Hmm?” He replied not looking away from the document in his hand.

“I was wondering if it would be okay if my best friend from my old pack came to visit me for a couple of weeks.” Lexi asked.

“And when would this friend of yours arrive?” He asked setting the document down and giving Lexi his full attention.

“This coming Monday. Her birthday is on Saturday. She wants to spend it with me, Chucho and Pepito. So, she wants to arrive a few days before so she can have time to settle in and what not.” Lexi explained shakily.

“You know how I feel about outsiders Lexi.” He stated.

This is what Lexi feared most that her alpha wouldn’t allow her best friend to come for a visit. She hasn’t seen Analise in almost two years. She missed her desperately. Of course, they would talk on the phone or Facetime one another daily, but it wasn’t the same. She wanted to see her best friend. Lexi felt tears begin to well up in her eyes and right before a tear became loose, her alpha asked her, “How do you know this friend of yours?”

“We grew up together, our dads are really good friends and we used to play together all the time when we were kids.” Lexi responded with a hopeful smile reminiscing on how her and Ana used to drive their parents crazy running throughout the pack house at her old pack.

“So, she’s from your old pack?” He asked questioning her further.

“Yes alpha.” She answered him.

“Does Alpha Antonio know that she wants to visit the pack?” he questioned again.

“Yes, he said if you were alright with it, he was also fine with it. He said that he trusts you with one of his pack members.” Lexi answered with a bit of exaggeration.

“Well, if Alpha is aware and you’re sure that this girl isn’t of any danger to our pack, then I’m fine with it. Will she be staying with you and Chucho? Or will a room need to be made available for her?” He asked.

Lexi was so surprised that her alpha said yes to this. He never allows outsiders in after his mother was killed by one of her cousins that was visiting the pack years ago. He said that our lands were closed off forever. The pack used to be the go to pack for alpha meetings and huge balls that were thrown for the Lunar New Year and the Moon Festival. Packs from all over would come here to celebrate in hopes to finding their mates or to extend alliance invitations. Since Luna Maggie’s death, that all changed. No one can get in now. The alpha spent huge amounts of money on reconstructing the walls around the territory to ensure that no one could get in. There is only one gate in and out and no one could come in or out without the alpha’s approval.

“A room for her would be preferred, but if it’s to much of a hassle, we can put her in Pepito’s room and Pepito can sleep with me and Chucho.” Lexi answered him.

“I will arrange for a room to be set up for her. I don’t want my beta and his family to have to feel crammed. I need Chucho to get his rest so he can help me train our warriors every day. I’ve seen how Pepito sleeps. I can’t imagine having to sleep next to that kid every night for two weeks straight.” He answered with a slight chuckle.

“Thank you alpha! You have no idea how much this means to me! I’ll go and call Analise and let her know that you approved her visit!” Lexi said excitedly with a slight jump.

“I’ll take your word for it. Now go make your phone call and let Ashley know that a room on the beta floor needs to be set up before Monday.” He instructed.

“Yes alpha! Thank you again alpha!” Lexi responded skipping out of her alpha’s office and heading towards the stairs. She needed to get down to the first floor to let Ashley know about the room. Ashley is an older she-wolf. She is the head Omega in the pack and is basically treated like royalty due to her complete dedication and devotion to the pack and alpha family. Loyal wolves like her are really hard to find now a days but her being the best friend to the late Luna, has its perks.

Lexi did her due diligence by letting Ashly know and Ashley assured her that the room would be ready in time for Ana’s arrival. Lexi was so excited, she ran back up to the fourth floor, the beta’s floor and found her phone. She unlocked it with a click and dialed Ana’s phone number.

“Hello?” Ana answered.

“Guess what?” Lexi responded in a curious tone plopping on her bed.

“What?” Ana asked. You’re not pregnant again, are you? Because I could totally do with out the months of emotional trauma that you put me through with Pepito."

“No silly! Alpha approved of your visit! He said you can come and visit us on Monday like we were wanting!” Lexi explained excitedly.

“Oh my gosh! No way! I’m so excited! I can’t wait to see you all! Especially Pepito, I haven’t seen him since he was a tiny little cachorro! I’m going to start packing now. I’ll leave Sunday night, so I make it there by Friday morning!” Ana exclaimed.

“Yay! I’ll see you then! I can’t wait!” Lexi said and hung up the phone. She then stood up and did a happy dance. Now she needed to do a grocery run. She wanted to get all of Ana’s favorite snacks and drinks for her visit so she would feel welcomed.
