Chapter 2. Escape

His voice electrified her body, and she froze right on the spot!
Vesper, stunned with terror, and her eyes bulged out, with red lines....
She felt her air passage were getting squeezed, taking in limited air, and her face gradually turned white as sheet!
" I..........."
Her lips trembled slightly, and her eyes rolled to her brain, feeling as if she was going to fall into darkness any moment from now.
" Ple...ase. ..... . "
Tears shimmered in her eyes, bright and clear. Like a small ball, they slowly roll down from her forest green eyes. ....
Those eyes!!!
Raven's black eyes contracted, his brows snapping! However , his hand was still tightly gripping Vesper's neck!
In fact, he squeezed it even more, feeling his sense of irritation crackling as he watched her tears slide down.......
Those eyes were too familiar! His dark mind thought...
A strange emotion surged from the bottom of his frosty heart.

As his thoughts became fuzzy, his expression transformed into something unreadable. He didn't know when his hand loosened around Vesper's neck.
Vesper took this as her chance and shuffled two steps backward, blinking repeatedly. She was clearly intimidated by Riven's strong presence.
She lowered her head shakily, terrified by his piercing eyes and started fidgeting with her slender fingers.
" Get lost!"
Clenching his palms, he turned his back, and bellowed!
This was the highest pardon he could give to her for disturbing his peace, otherwise, he would tear her apart and feed her to his hellhounds!
Vesper lifted her head when she heard this and quickly panicked, a sob rising in her throat.
She didn't know why she jumped into his cave but she couldn't leave now! Not when the guards were still hunting for her.
" Please........I can't leave. ...the..y will take....me...." She pleaded in a hoarse voice, her eyelids dropping, and she choked, " Please.......help me ......save...me...fr..om them..... please......"
Riven didn't bother to glance at her pitiful state and sneered with disdain, " I don't help weak and irrelevant people. Leave this instant before my patience wears thin, or I won't spare you!"
The atmosphere dropped down to a freezing point with his words, and it immediately stabbed Vesper's heart strangely!
Her nose turned sour, and her insides burned as the pain spread from her heart to her body!
Her face crumbled like a used tissue, set in resigned sad lines, and a haunted look dominated her face.
She didn't know why she felt a prick of sharp sadness when she heard Riven's words. Even though, she felt a strong sense of terrible danger emanating from him, the same time she still weirdly felt comfortable....
Who is this man?
Familiar voices of the guards sounded again, and at this point, Vesper couldn't escape the dread.
" I think she is in the cave!"
" There's no other place for her to go!"
" Let's check the cave and all around it! This is our last chance!"
Riven also heard the voices but cared less. He snapped his fingers and gestured for her to leave for the last time!
Promptly, something sparked in Vesper's brain and in a desperate attempt to save her situation, she rushed towards Riven.
Without considering her action, she moved her face forward.....
Before Riven could comprehend what was happening, a cool soft touch like a feather warmed his hot lips.......
The soft but stagnant kiss on his lips brought a sudden sensation, which triggered something in him.
It was like........like a feeling he had missed so greatly and craved all the nights........
For a second, his whole world froze, while his piercing gaze just steadied on Vesper's delicate clammy face........
Just then, a wet drop fell on his skin, and he quickly realized Vesper was still in tears....
" Please......save me....."
Vesper requested softly, her body shaking due to so much fear and comfort. She had no idea how she got the courage to kiss Riven's lips out of the blue, but she was too drawn to him strangely to stop herself.
This. ....
She slowly withdrew herself from him, shyly shifting her gaze away, and a red color creeped unto her face.
Riven narrowed his eyes, a calculating look grazing over his face.
Without any word, he turned his sharp face and bared out his claws!
Vesper saw this and decided to trail after him.
She felt an inner desire to watch how he was going to take down the numerous guards that were chasing her.
Riven's black eyes turned red, like the blood moon! His fangs emerging and glinting under the soft moonlight!
He jumped, flipping backward and raised his claws at the guards! Three heads rolled to the floor at the same time!
Vesper gasped, not expecting this, and her lips twitched. She silently watched this gore scene, biting her bottom lip anxiously.......
Blood flowed and bloomed like mandala flower, the smell mixing with the damp earthy smell of the forest.
In no time, Riven had brought down all the guards incredibly, and one could even see traces of tore blood limps, brain matters, and some other parts... .. .
Riven snorted darkly and stepped away from dead bodies.
Then, he faced Vesper, who was meticulously watching him. The forest seemed to shrink under Riven's intimidating gaze.
Seeing him like this, Vesper instantly sensed something sinister in his eyes, and her breath hitched.
What's happening?
With a steady gait, he approached her, like a predator strolling towards it trapped prey.
" I demand again, who are you?!"
He raised his claws, that were stained with deep blood of the guards and speedily aimed it towards Vesper's heart!!
