Episode 1: Sold to the Devil
The sound of rain against the windows felt like a warning.
Or maybe… a farewell.
I stood in the center of the room, my hands trembling, my heart beating so loudly it drowned everything else. The air smelled of expensive cigars and danger — the kind of danger that didn’t just threaten your life… but swallowed it whole.
“Please… just give me more time,” my father’s voice broke.
I froze.
No.
No, no, no…
He wouldn’t.
He couldn’t.
My fingers slowly curled into fists as I turned toward him. His face was pale, eyes filled with desperation… but not for me.
For himself.
“You already had time,” a deep, cold voice cut through the room like a blade.
Every muscle in my body stiffened.
That voice…
It wasn’t loud. It didn’t need to be.
It carried power. Control. Death.
I swallowed hard and forced myself to look toward the man sitting in the shadows.
He didn’t move at first.
Just watched.
Like a predator studying its prey.
My breath caught as he leaned forward slightly, the dim light finally revealing part of his face.
Sharp jaw. Cold eyes. No emotion.
A man who didn’t feel.
A man who didn’t forgive.
“Your debt has doubled,” he continued calmly. “And I’m not known for patience.”
“I’ll pay! I swear, I’ll find a way!” my father rushed out, almost falling to his knees.
Shame burned inside me.
This was the man who raised me?
The man who promised to protect me?
“Find a way?” The stranger let out a quiet, humorless laugh. “You should have thought of that before you borrowed money you couldn’t return.”
Silence fell.
Heavy.
Crushing.
And then…
“I have something more valuable.”
My heart stopped.
Slowly… painfully… I turned my head toward my father.
His eyes avoided mine.
“Take her.”
The words hit me like a gunshot.
For a second, I couldn’t breathe.
“…what?” My voice came out barely a whisper.
“I’m sorry,” he said quickly, still not looking at me. “This is the only way.”
Only way?
ONLY WAY?!
“I’m not an object!” I screamed, the fear inside me turning into fire. “You can’t just—”
“Enough.”
One word.
And everything went silent.
Even my voice died in my throat.
The man in the shadows stood up.
Slowly.
Calmly.
Terrifyingly.
Each step he took echoed against the marble floor, sending chills down my spine. My body refused to move, as if something deep inside me already knew…
There was no escape.
He stopped right in front of me.
So close I could feel his presence… cold, suffocating, overwhelming.
“From this moment on,” he said quietly, his voice dangerously soft, “you belong to me.”
My heart pounded violently.
I forced myself to look up.
And the world shattered.
No…
No, this is impossible…
“…Alexey?” My lips trembled as his name slipped out.
For a moment, time froze.
Memories flashed in my mind — laughter, warmth, soft touches, promises whispered under the stars…
The boy who once looked at me like I was his entire world.
But the man standing in front of me now…
Was a stranger.
His eyes held nothing.
No warmth.
No love.
Only darkness.
Recognition flickered for just a second… before disappearing completely.
His lips curved into a cold, cruel smile.
“So,” he said slowly, tilting his head slightly, “you remember me.”
My chest tightened.
“What happened to you…?” I whispered, my voice breaking.
He didn’t answer.
Instead, he reached out and gently lifted my chin with his fingers.
The touch should have felt familiar.
It didn’t.
It felt like a warning.
“Wife,” he said, the word dripping with something dark and dangerous, “you took your time.”
Wife…
The word echoed in my head.
No.
No, I won’t accept this.
“I’m not marrying you,” I said, pulling back, my voice shaking but firm.
For a second…
Silence.
Then—
He laughed.
Low.
Cold.
Terrifying.
“You think you have a choice?” he asked.
My stomach dropped.
“I won’t stay,” I said, even though fear clawed at my chest. “I’ll run.”
Big mistake.
The air changed instantly.
His eyes darkened.
In one swift movement, he grabbed my wrist and pulled me closer.
I gasped.
“Try,” he whispered near my ear, his voice deadly calm. “And I’ll make sure your father pays the price.”
My blood ran cold.
He let go just as suddenly, as if I meant nothing.
“As of tonight,” he continued, stepping back, “you move into my house.”
My legs felt weak.
“You will follow my rules.”
Silence.
“You will obey.”
My heart cracked.
“And you will never try to escape.”
Tears burned in my eyes, but I refused to let them fall.
Not in front of him.
Not in front of this… monster.
“Welcome to your new life,” Alexey said, his gaze locking onto mine like chains.
“There’s no way out.”
---
That night…
Everything ended.
My freedom.
My past.
My life.
And as the car door closed behind me, taking me away from everything I once knew…
I realized one terrifying truth.
I wasn’t just sold…
I was trapped.
With the devil himself.
And this time—
There would be no saving me.
