Chapter-2 Episode-3 Irony “Aaaaaaaaa…………”, Rose shouted at the top of her lungs seeing the gruesome view in front of her eyes. Seeing such a thing in front of your eyes isn’t something anyone can forget in a lifetime. A while ago, “reeve is that your mom’s car?” rose asked seeing the car parked in the alley near the house. “It is my mom’s car, and that’s my dad’s car, the blue one. He is here too. I didn’t know he was coming. He said he will be back in a month.” Reeve spoke out. “Your dad wasn’t in the town?” rose asked. “yes, he stays out of town most of the time because of his work. But he sends us gifts and cards.” Reeve answered his teacher’s question. “if they are both here then why didn’t anyone come to pick you up? No one answered the call either.” Roose said in confusion. “I don’t know maybe they wanted to surprise me. I should go in and ask mom.” Reeve said. “I will come with you to make sure everything is fine. I’ll go after that.” They both got out of the car and walked to the house’s entry gate. As they were about to ring the bell, they noticed that the door was ajar. So instead of ringing the bell they directly went inside. “Mrs. Beaver, I'm reeve’s homeroom teacher. Mrs. Reeve, I've brought him home. Mrs. Beaver.” Rose called out for Jenna many times but there was no reply. The house was completely silent like no one was in the house. But there were two cars outside, so there has to be someone here. “why isn’t anyone answering? Mom… dad… Jim…., no one is saying anything, Ms. Rose.” Reeve said worriedly. Suddenly a phone rang slashing the silence. The room was so quiet before that the ringtone resonated with the whole room. The sound was coming from the kitchen. So, they walked to the kitchen to check if there was anyone or not. But seeing the gruesomeness in the kitchen rose shrieked. “Aaaahhhhhhhh…………”, Rose shouted at the top of her lungs seeing the gruesome view in front of her eyes. Seeing such a thing in front of your eyes isn’t something anyone can forget in a lifetime. “Mom! Dad……….” Reeve shouted for his mom and seeing their lifeless body laying on the floor. They looked like they were stabbed millions of times before they fell lifelessly. The wall has been painted red with all the blood splattered over them. The kitchen counter, wall, table, fridge everything was bloody. The whole kitchen was a horror show. And for a nine-year-old seeing his dead parents in front of his eyes in such condition was like a death sentence. You’ll never be the same after that. Reeve was on the floor grieving for his parents. His teacher turned back to call the cops, when suddenly, “where is jimmy?” Reeve yelled out as if he was asking himself where his brother is. His teacher looked at him turning back to look at him running somewhere. He ran to Jim’s room to see if he was there. Rose followed him from behind running at his pace. He went to his brother’s room and open the door. He was looking for his brother in the room everywhere. In his mind, he was expecting him sitting on the floor playing with his red remote-control car just like the last time when reeve went into his room. But this time was different, it didn’t seem like he was in his room. The room was all kept, nothing like how Jim would keep it on a normal day. All his toys were neatly arranged. Reeve thought that maybe his brother is not here in the room so he was about to leave to look for him upstairs when he heard his brother calling for him. “reeve… reeve…,” he came out calling for him from inside the cupboard. He was weeping and shivering from fear and dark. He was all sweaty when he came out. Cheeks wet with tears, nose all red and runny. He must have been sob silently there. “hey, Jim come here, don’t cry,” Reeve said hugging and embracing his little brother, who was a crying and shivering mess. “reeve… hic…. Mom…. Hic… dad….” He could hardly say anything in his state. He was hiccupping with every word coming out of his mouth. “shhh… don’t cry. Everything is gonna be fine. They are all fine.” Reve said consoling him. “but they were fighting, mom locked me in here,” Jim told him. “It's okay, guess what I've brought for you?” reeve asked his brother acting as if everything was normal. “What did you bring for me?” Jim asked excitedly.” come, it’s in Ms. Rose’s car. It’s in the alley. “Okay, can we go and get it?” Jim asked. “let’s get it then.” Reeve took his brother back to his teacher’s car where Jim slept after playing with the flute that he got from his brother. While the teacher called cops to report the murder. After a while, the cops were there. The whole place was accumulated with people who live nearby and the cops of course. While jimmy was peacefully asleep in the car, reeve was far from it. He was still shocked and restless. His nerves were all hyped up. He couldn’t wrap his head around what just happened to his parents. He couldn’t understand why God did that to his parents and him. He was old enough to understand what happened in his house but the cruelty on the walls, how they died was too much to take it. He sat beside his sleeping brother silently when his emotions were all over the place. - - - - - - - - - - - Even after the autopsy report came out, no one can conclude that what happened in the house.
