Chapter-6  Episode- 1  My Daughter Loves Fairy  -The pixies who live on the moon in the sky Pop-out at night and shout with a cry “let’s paint the sky with glow balls of light, Let’s stretch out wings and fly full flight!”  And off thy dance like acrobats With glittering skin and bell topped hats. Cartwheeling forth through the dusty air, They adorn all the stars with twinkle and flare. – A mother was reading out a poem from the fairy tale book that she held in her hands, sitting on the bed next to her five-year-old daughter Lily, who was wearing tiny red socks with white stripes, and her long blonde hair was in a beautiful round bun. Her cute face and small feet were all you will see as she was tucked in the Cinderella print duvet. It looked adorable, how she was listening to the poem her mom was reciting in her subtle soft voice when her eyelids were getting heavy as the sleep was devouring her. Her mom saw her drowsing, so leaving the rest of the poem for the next night, she kissed her before tucking her feet inside in the duvet too. And as she was about to leave the room, she hears Lily say, “Mom, are fairies real.” She asked in her sweet innocent sleepy voice. Her room was like a mini–Disney world for every die heart Disney enthusiast. It was pink, blue and white and some more soft colors. The curtains in her room were pink in color. There were wallpapers and posters of almost all the Disney princesses on the walls, from snow white to Mulan to the teeny tiny tinker bells, there were all of them, even her comforter had a Cinderella on it riding on her pumpkin carriage, and rat horse. Anyone will know by the look and vibe of her room that how much she liked fairies and princesses. She always asks this question to her mother before going to bed, are fairies real? Is there a prince charming waiting for her too? And always her mom would say the same thing to her. But no matter how many times she heard it; it was always just as new for her as for the first time, she always gets excited at the name of fairies. “Yes darling, fairies are real.” Her mom answered. “Do they like playing with kids? Will they be my friends and come to play with me?” she asked again, her innocence always allures her mother. “you remember Lily, fairy godmother from Cinderella?” the mother asked. “yes mommy, she does the magic on Cinderella to make her pretty” Lily answered. “fairy godmother loves children, she will send a fairy to the kid who does well in schools and listens to their parents, so they can play with them.” The mother told her daughter. “really mom? I will be a good girl from now. I will listen to whatever you say. I won’t even fight with that stupid Andrea at school even if she bullies me.” she said in her sleep’ish tone innocently. “if you do that fairy godmother will send her best fairy to you to be your best friend. And to be a good girl you should sleep early. Will you be a good girl?” the mommy spoke. “Okay mom, good night. I will sleep now” She wished her mom goodnight. “Bibidi Babido Bu,” Her mom said turning off the lights, as the lights went off in her room, her room in place of getting dimmed, it enlightens with hundreds of teeny tiny ‘glow in the night’ stars, on the walls, and the ceiling, almost everywhere. It was eyes pleasing to see just like how you will fill looking at the star on a clear night on the roof. After tucking her baby to sleep, Juliane went to the room next to her daughter’s, which was her bedroom, having a slight smile on her face from her child’s innocence. “Juliane is Lily asleep?” The husband asks his wife as he saw her coming to their bedroom. Their bedroom was neat, warm, and well-coordinated with brown and cream color on the walls. It had a French bed in the middle of the front wall to the door, with two lampshades on each side, a vanity table with three large oval mirrors, and a footstool on the left wall of the room beside the two large glass windows with cream and brown curtains hanging on it. They had a big family photo above the head post of their bed, it was maybe a bit old as Lily looked much tinier and adorable in it sucking a baby n****e in between her pink small lips, sitting on the lap of her parents who were wearing a toothy smile. “Yes Tom, she slept early, she didn’t wait for me to even complete the poem. She looked tired today.” Said Juliane as she sat on their bed next to her laid husband. “School is tiring her these days a lot. Don’t think too much about it. She is growing up” Thomas said, she knew how much his wife worries about her daughter who had always been a weak kid even as a newborn. “She told me that there is some girl Andrea in her school who is bullying her, she makes fun of her for being weak. Should I talk to the teacher at her school? she gets scared with a little scold, how will she handle being bullied?” She suggested worriedly. “I think we should let her deal with it. She should know how to protect herself; we can’t always protect her. If it gets too serious, then we will complain in school. I will go with you. Okay?” he said calmly soothing Juliane with his fingers on her arm. “Okay, we can do that.” Uttered Juliane rubbing her hand on Thomas’s bare chest pursing her lips in a weak smile. “come,” he said lightly patting on his shoulder while lying on the bed. Juliane laid in his arms, they talked about their days, and soon they both drifted to sleep. That’s how a normal day ended for them. Juliane and Thomas were always busy but somehow, they manage to look after Lily and give her all the love she deserves. - - - - - - - - - - Next evening, after a long tough day of work in the office, Juliane was back home. Without taking any rest she went to pick her daughter up from school, which was certainly not the easiest thing to do in the snowy and freezing weather. She was in her car waiting for her darling to come out of the gate, when she saw her coming out of the school, walking slowly with heavy feet thumping lazily on the ground with every step, not like how she usually walks, excited and airy. “Hey baby, how was your day?” she asked joyfully seeing the tired state of her daughter. “It was good,” Lily uttered in an almost inaudible voice. It was strange for Julie as her daughter is always happy and smiling. She never saw her in a bad mood. Seeing her daughter’s smile always cheered the dull mood up.  So, she can’t help but ended up asking, “Did something happen today, honey? Why do you look so down?” she was worried that maybe she again got bullied today. “I am fine mom! Can we go home? I am hungry. I want spicy chicken wings.” Lily said, her tone was harsh and sounded more mature. Julie knew something was wrong with her honey, she never behaves this rude. She is the sweetest thing in her and she hates spicy food, she can’t tolerate even a bit of spice in her food. But having nothing more to say, Julie drove her car back to their home. It was still early for dinner and she was tired from her hours-long meeting today, and Lily was hungry, so she ordered chicken wings from a restaurant close by, just as Lily demanded. When the food was delivered, which took about half an hour, she called Lily, who was in her room, from the dining room. Serving the food on Lily’s favorite princess plate she told her to eat and she went to her room to freshen up. In her room, as she stripped out of her clothes and entered the hot stream of the shower, all the tiredness of the day just went away with the water. Her head cleared and she got a bit relaxed. After taking a quick shower she walked downstairs to prepare tea for herself, she saw Lily sleeping with her down on the dining table. She was reeking of alcohol and all the food that she ordered for the dinner was all finished, the boxes, cans, and napkins were all on the table. Juliane got scared, her daughter was just a kid she can’t even reach the cabinet in the refrigerator where the alcohol cans were and there was no one else in the room. But still to make sure she checked the whole house, but obviously, there was no one else in the house. It was just she and her daughter. She got terrified, she wanted to talk to her husband about this, but he was gonna be a bit late today. She had heard about kids suffering from mental disorders but her daughter, was always smiling and cheerful, how does her personality swap this soon. Her husband came at mid-night, she would have slept till this late, but today sleep was miles from her eyes. She told her husband as soon as he entered there. At first, he was didn’t gave much mind to what she was telling him, but when he himself sniffed her reeking of alcohol, he got worried about her like hell. “I'll get an appointment for the psychiatrist for tomorrow morning, we must go there and see what he diagnoses. don’t be worried it will all be fine.” Tom said embracing his wife in his arms. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -  “come on Reeve, this is not that bad. We have to work if we want to find something about the crossbreed creature.” Jim said in a convincing tone doing an air quotes posture with his fingers. They were both sitting on a table in the public library with at least half a dozen books on their table. “This is just your geeky ass saying. Anyway, this is how people waste their three years, sitting in the library reading book, they are not going to remember anyway?” He spoke out haughtily. “oh, come on, it is not all that bad,” Jim said. “it’s the worst,” Reeve commented hitting his head on the table. “all the answers that we are looking for might be hidden in the book, we have to keep researching no matter what,” Jim said. “by the way, did you called rocky, to see if he is fine or not?” Reeve asked in a muffled voice as they were in a library. “yes, and also there is no more strange activity in the town. I think the demons left that place.” Jim answered. “let’s now go back to work?” Jim added. “We have been doing this for the past week, if I don’t get some break now, I will surely go crazy,” Reeve told him. Suddenly his phone started buzzing, so to attend the call he walked out of the library leaving his nerdy book lover brother to continue his research. In just a few minutes, Reeve came back inside and said to Jim, “Jim, I got a case. I think we will have to go and take a look.” “what is it? And what about our work, our research?” he questioned. “we will continue this after the case, and if I don’t do some real work, and kick some asses now, I might actually become a book worm like you, so let’s just take a break,” Reeve replied in desperation. “But where are we going? At least tell me that.” Jim asked. “Omaha, Nebraska,” Reeve replied. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -  The lore says if you read without sharing the ghost might come after you.
