Magic Mirror and Princess Huma

Long ago a just king ruled over a lush and prosperous land He had an only daughter named Huma Princess Huma was incredibly beautiful innocent and kind hearted she treated the poor with great respect When Huma was very young her mother the queen passed away After her mother death the king and little Huma were left all alone and the liveliness of the palace seemed to vanish completely. And the magic mirror always gives the same answer Your Majesty you are the most beautiful in the world Hearing this the queen heart would leap with joy and she would strut about all day in pride convinced that her beauty would last forever and that she had no equal. As time passed the young princess Huma blossomed into a beautiful young woman Her beauty was radiant as luminous as the moonand she was as pure and noble in character as she was lovely in appearance People could not help but admire her. One day the Queen dressed as usual stood before her magic mirror and asked the same old question Mirror mirror tell me who is the fairest in the land The answer she received left her utterly devastated The mirror replied Your Majesty while you were undoubtedly a great beauty in your time your stepdaughter Huma has now surpassed you in beauty. The Queen summoned a royal huntsman and ordered him to take Princess Huma into the forest under some pretext and kill her The poor huntsman was compelled to obey he took Huma into the woods but when the moment came he could not bring himself to harm her He told the Princess to flee and never return warning her that the Queen wanted to take her life. Terrified the innocent Huma wept and wandered deep into the dense forest The forest was vast and dangerous Huma walked on alone until evening fell and she spotted a small house. When we knocked on the door of the house seven little dwarfs came out Seeing us weeping they kindly invited us inside they felt great pity for our plight and told us we could stay there with them safe and secure Meanwhile back at the palace when the Queen asked the magic mirror once again who was the fairest of them all the mirror spoke the same truth that Snow White was living in the forest with the seven dwarfs and remained the fairest of all. When the Queen discovered that Huma was still alive she disguised herself as an old woman took a poisoned offering and went into the forest She affectionately gave the offering to Huma and as soon as Huma consumed it she fell into a deathlike slumber When the seven companions returned in the evening they found her lifeless they wept bitterly and laid her to rest in a glass coffin adorning it with flowers. Some time later a prince from the kingdom was passing through the forest. Upon seeing Princess Huma asleep in the glass coffin he lost his heart to her at first sight As soon as the coffin was slightly jostled the poisonous shard lodged in Huma throat dislodged and fell out she opened her eyes and came back to life.
