Allyssa
"David! You're back!" Hilga forced a smile at David. Nervousness was obvious on her face. She knew David saw me as a younger sister. And before he left for abroad, he was the one who protected me from Hannah's bullying.
"You're finally back, David! I miss you so much." Hannah ran over to David and smiled, reaching out to hold his arm. But David roughly pushed her hands away.
Hannah likes David but he doesn't like her. In fact, David gets annoyed with Hannah because she bullies me. That only made my half-sister hate me even more.
"Were you going to hit her if I hadn't stopped you?" David asked Hannah with narrowed eyes.
The smile immediately vanished from Hannah's lips and her face turned pale again. She had been punished by David several times before whenever he caught her bullying me.
"Of course not!" Hannah quickly denied it. "I was just joking with my sister."
"Yes, Hannah's right. She was just joking with Allyssa. She wasn't going to hit her for real. That's how siblings joke around like it's serious," Hilga immediately agreed with her daughter.
"Really? Are we close enough for you to joke around with me like that?" I said to Hannah with a raised eyebrow.
Hilga glared at me, but she didn't contradict what I said. She couldn't show her true colors to me in front of David. His family's company is my dad's biggest business partner. If they anger David and he pulls out the partnership, Dad's company will definitely lose even more money. Dad's company was the fruit of my mom's hard work. She worked for him until the company finally became stable in the industry. But Dad betrayed my Mom and made his ex-girlfriend his mistress.
"What are you waiting for, Allyssa? Go pack your things," David ordered me before giving the mother and daughter a sharp look. "If you stay here any longer, the wolves living in this house will surely devour you."
I just nodded at David and quickly went upstairs to get my things, which were already packed in a suitcase. I had packed everything last night because I had planned to leave this house and move out for good.
Since my suitcase was already ready, I was back in the living room in less than thirty minutes.
"Where are you going, Allyssa? You can't leave this house right now," Hannah panicked and stopped me, then turned to her mother for help. "Convince her not to leave, Mom. You know she can't leave."
Hilga immediately approached me and grabbed the handle of my suitcase. "Your sister is right, Allyssa. You can't leave right now. Your father will definitely look for you when he gets home later, and he'll be angry if he finds out you left. You don't want your Dad to be mad at you, do you?"
David walked over to Hilga and pushed her away from me. If Hannah hadn't caught her mom in time, she would have fallen to the floor.
"She can leave this house whenever she wants. She's not your captive," David said sharply to Hilga. Like Hannah, she also panicked. If I leave and Dad doesn't find me at home when he returns, he'll take his anger out on the mother and daughter for failing to stop me from leaving.
"You can send me your wedding invitations with Mr. Chua, Hannah. And I assure you, I'll attend no matter how busy I am," I said teasingly to Hannah before pulling my suitcase out of the house.
To secure an investment from Mr. Chua, Dad will definitely let Hannah marry that perverted old man instead of me. And even if Mr. Chua finds out he won't be marrying me, I'm sure he won't reject Hannah. Because he'll go after any woman, regardless of who she is. That's how perverted he is.
David brought me to his villa inside City Ville, an exclusive subdivision where only billionaires can afford to buy luxury villas.
"Where will my room be?" I asked David once we were inside his villa. I didn't want to assume we'd be sleeping in the same room. What happened between us before was because he was drunk.
"Of course, in my room. Where have you ever seen newlyweds sleeping in separate rooms?" he replied with a raised eyebrow.
"But our marriage wasn't real. We only got married because—"
"Our marriage is real, Allyssa," he cut me off immediately. "The judge who married us wasn't fake. So how can you say our marriage isn't real?"
"What I mean is we only got married because we wanted to take responsibility for what happened, not because we love each other. If we sleep in the same room, I'm afraid..." I couldn't finish what I was going to say. I was too embarrassed to tell him what I was thinking.
"You're worried that what happened between us last night might happen again?" David suddenly approached me.
I had to step back because he didn't seem to plan on stopping, even though we were already very close. I ended up sitting on the couch because there was nowhere left to go.
"Y-Yes," I whispered. I closed my eyes as our faces were only inches apart.
"Don't worry. I promise I won't touch you unless you let me," he whispered in my ear before gently biting it. After that, he stood up and stepped away from me.
I couldn't help but pout. He was clearly teasing me. He said he wouldn't touch me, but he bit my ear. He had no idea the effects of what he did to me. I suddenly felt hot all over, with butterflies in my stomach. It was a wonderful feeling only he could give me.
David just smiled at me before pulling my suitcase and carrying it upstairs to his room, which would now be mine too.
His bed was big enough for three people to sleep in. I'd just put something in the middle to keep me from rolling over to his side. I'm worried I couldn't control myself and crawl to him when he sleeps.
"You can take a shower first. The bathroom has all the toiletries you'll need," David said once we entered the room.
I quickly crossed my arms over my chest. "W-What are you planning to do with me?" If he wanted something to happen between us again, I wasn't sure I could say no to him.
David walked over to me, laughed, and gently flicked my forehead. "What are you thinking, lady? I'm telling you to shower because you haven't yet. After you shower, come down to the dining area and have breakfast with me."
I nodded shyly and slowly lowered my arms from my chest. When David left the room, I immediately scolded myself. Why did I jump to that conclusion when he just told me to take a shower? I'd completely forgotten he promised not to touch me unless I allowed it.
I went into the bathroom and showered quickly. When I came out, my phone, which I'd left on the side table before getting in the shower, vibrated exactly on cue. I picked it up right away to see who the message was from.
The message was from Eve. She wanted me to meet her tonight at our usual hangout spot.
I replied right away and told her I'd be there. I planned to tell her about my marriage to her brother and the one-night stand that happened between us.
Eve is my best friend, and we don't keep secrets from each other. If she finds out about our marriage from someone else, she'll definitely be upset with me. I don't want that to happen because she's my only friend in the world.
After replying to Eve, I got dressed quickly and left the room to join David for breakfast.
David smiled when he saw me. He stood up from his seat and pulled out the chair next to his for me.
"Did you cook all of this?" When he nodded, I secretly smiled. I never thought he'd know how to cook. Not only is he handsome and rich, but he can cook too. My admiration for him grew even more.
"When I'm here at the villa, I'll cook our meals. But when I'm not around, Mia is here. She will cook and clean the whole house," he said with a smile. He was gentle when talking to me, unlike how he spoke to Hannah and Hilga. Earlier, he'd been so intimidating and scary to talk to or joke with. But he was a completely different person around me.
"I can cook for you too," I offered with a smile.
"No," he quickly objected. "I just want you to be safe, happy, and carefree. That's all you need to do."
I just nodded and didn't argue with him. I felt like a princess being pampered by my prince.
My heart skipped so fast when he suddenly kneeled beside me while holding a pink diamond in his hand.
