"Wait a minute!" Summer Sutton became alert, abruptly stopping in her tracks, standing at the doorway unwilling to go in, "The smell of alcohol will dissipate on its own, I don't want to wash."
"Miss Sutton, the young master has a cleanliness obsession!" The maid showed no intention of listening to her, forcibly pushing her into the bathroom from both sides.
Summer Sutton was practically forced inside; throughout the process, she passively let several maids wipe and wash her here and there, her face expressionless.
After the maids finished cleaning her, they wrapped her in a bathrobe and sprayed a bit of perfume on her.
The scent was wonderful, a very light floral fragrance, like the scent of Blue Bell flowers.
"Miss Sutton, please wait in the room, the young master should be up shortly." The maids instructed, and then closed the door behind them as they left.
Summer Sutton sat stiffly on the bed, her face looking quite displeased.
Didn't she resemble a concubine from ancient palaces, waiting for the emperor's favor?
But why did she have to wait for that man to come up?
The desire to escape surged in Summer once again, she suddenly stood up, and hurried to the window, pulling back the curtains to look down.
She wanted to try climbing out the window, but seeing the pitch-black scene below, she lost her courage.
Jumping out the window was too dangerous.
Sitting back on the bed, Summer Sutton felt increasingly uneasy.
If she couldn't escape, did she really have to sit here and wait, surrendering her fate to that man?
No sound came from outside the room, it seemed that no one was coming.
Sitting on the bed, Summer Sutton waited for a while, but no one came. Exhausted and hungry, she let her guard down a little and dozed off for a short while.
But just as she fell asleep, she was awakened by her hunger.
She hadn't eaten a bite since lunch, and drank a few glasses of wine at the party, her stomach was feeling truly uncomfortable now.
Glancing around, unable to resist, Summer Sutton opened the door and went out.
The corridor was eerily quiet, it seemed the servants had gone downstairs to rest, and only the faint snippets of conversation from the night guards in the garden could be heard throughout the villa.
Summer Sutton tiptoed downstairs, intending to find the kitchen, when suddenly, a cold voice rang out, "Sneaking around, acting like a thief?"
Startled, Summer Sutton looked up to see a man standing beside her, she snapped, "Can't you make a bit of noise when you walk?"
Adrian Walyon ignored her words, his dark eyes scanning up and down on her, frowning as he took in her appearance.
Summer Sutton was wearing a bathrobe; her fair skin seemed to shimmer with a pearly glow, swaying slightly in front of Adrian, dazzling him.
"Who told you to dress like that?" Adrian Walyon appeared momentarily distracted, a hint of annoyance evident in his demeanor. He quickly took off his jacket and casually threw it over Summer Sutton, the large coat draping over her like a robe.
"Wasn't it you who arranged this?" Summer Sutton retorted confidently.
Did he think she wanted to wear so little while wandering in a man's villa?
Adrian Walyon was momentarily taken aback by her response, expressionless as he helped straighten the coat on her. The oversized garment perfectly enveloped Summer Sutton, "I'm telling you to wear it properly now! In the future, do not wear clothes like this out of your room!"
Summer Sutton was speechless at him, this man was truly unpredictable.
Adrian Walyon walked past her towards the dining room, sitting down, slicing the steak the maids had just prepared unhurriedly, tasting it before raising his eyes to look at her, "Why did you come down?"
Summer Sutton's gaze fell on the beef on his plate, her eyes unblinking.
She was hungry!
However, she didn't want to show weakness in front of Adrian Walyon.
"Nothing, just wandering around." Her gaze moved away with difficulty, and she deliberately spoke casually.
"Go back to the room and wait for me!" Adrian Walyon ordered.
"Wait for what?" Summer Sutton didn't react for a moment.
Adrian's gaze lingered on her face, and he replied slowly, "To do what a couple should do!"
Summer Sutton was so embarrassed that she didn't even know where to put her face.
After choking for a while, she reminded him, "You can't do this! I haven't agreed to marry you!"
"Does Miss Sutton have a choice?" Adrian Walyon dismissed her words with disdain.
His tone was light and breezy.
Summer Sutton couldn't imagine how powerful the forces behind him were to treat marriage so lawlessly.
Summer Sutton knew she couldn't fight him, so she could only reason with him.
"I'm only nineteen, not even at the legal marriage age!"
"Nineteen years and eight months, in four months you'll be twenty." Adrian Walyon leisurely put down his cutlery, "These four months are perfect for preparing the wedding!"
Summer Sutton didn't know how to respond for a moment.
He even calculated this for her?
Could she lie and say there was a mistake on her birth certificate, claim she's underage, and pretend to be younger?
Right now, Summer Sutton really wished she could be two years younger.
"Any other questions?" At this time, Adrian Walyon was still fairly patient.
Summer Sutton looked at him steadily, her gaze lingering on his face a bit too long, "Why do you want to marry me?"
With his outstanding appearance, he's not lacking in potential spouses.
And Summer Sutton, though possessing a beauty of campus queen level, knew well that her looks alone were not enough for him to marry her without really knowing her.
In fact, marrying a Sutton daughter wasn't Adrian Walyon's decision but rather an arrangement by his grandfather.
Adrian's grandfather and Summer Sutton's deceased grandfather had been long-time comrades-in-arms and had a family alliance agreement.
However, the agreement only mentioned marrying a Sutton daughter, without specifying which one.
There were two Sutton daughters in total, this was something Adrian Walyon had always known, one being Summer Sutton, and the other her cousin Gina Sutton.
The Walyon Family had recently been arranging the engagement between the two families, and Summer Sutton, already forgotten by both families, was certainly not in line to marry into the Walyon Family.
Having no interest in marrying Gina Sutton, Adrian Walyon secretly found Summer Sutton to deliver a decisive blow at a critical moment.
Without telling her so much, Adrian Walyon looked at Summer Sutton for a long time and then softly said, "Because Miss Sutton is naturally beautiful!"
Summer Sutton, "..."
Adrian Walyon had finished his meal and went upstairs first, "Follow me!"
Summer Sutton watched his figure disappear on the spiral staircase, and her first reaction was to turn and run towards the villa door.
However, as soon as she stepped forward, Adrian Walyon's cold voice came from upstairs, "If you leave the villa tonight and I catch you, for every meter you run, you'll spend an hour with me in the room!"
He was threatening her!
Summer Sutton's face turned pale, and her leg, already stepping out, was pulled back with force.
She didn't know precisely what kind of man he was, but she was absolutely sure he could subdue her.
Summer Sutton had no power or influence, not even a person to rely on in Northtown, she was just the meat on his chopping board, at his mercy.
"Come up!" Adrian Walyon commanded from high up on the stairs.
Summer Sutton was reluctant, but after hesitating and hesitating again, she eventually pulled her legs towards him and walked over.
