CHAPTER 1- WITCH'S BLESSING
In the dark market of Saturnia, a sixteen-year-old girl stood in front of a male accessories shop. She looked to be hesitating a bit as to whether to go in or just pass by. Her left hand felt her moneybag, which jingled slightly, indicating the small amount of coins she had in it.
She sighed, just then...
" Luna!! Luna!! there you are, girl you're more slippery than slime. where have you been??" A girl of Luna's age came up panting.
She had long black hair, a contrast to Luna's silver hair.
Her hair colour was unique in the kingdom, making it easy to spot her.
Luna sighed again and looked up at the store, the girl's eyesight followed her gaze and she widened her eyes. She hadn't even noticed the place they stood.
" You... you want to go in?? " She asked.
" Is there a point? I wouldn't be able to afford anything in it anyway. looks like I won't be able to get anything for Phoenix, after tonight's ceremony."
"l knew he would be the reason you'd stand in front of a men's accessories shop. Let's go in"
" What?? Do you want me to make a joke of myself, Lisa? I don't have the money to buy anything in there." She refuted while furrowing her brows from frustration.
Lisa chuckled, then folding her arms she said
" How do you know you won't be able to afford anything in there? Even if that's the case it doesn't prevent anyone from going to check out the things in it. Come on, I'm sure Phoenix would get something even if it's the cheapest thing in there."
She said and then dragged Luna into the shop.
The two girls stepped onto the red-carpeted floor, with bright light orbs at the edges.
The place gave off the aura of great men. It wasn't a surprise as the shop was known to be visited by only rich men and rich women wanting to purchase stuff for their better halves.
It was Luna's first time visiting this shop, and she couldn't tell if she was just mocking herself. She had been filled with too much anxiety over tonight's event and now she was frustrated she might not be able to get Phoenix a gift like every other twin sister got their twin brothers on their special nights.
Yes! In Saturnia, twin babies of a boy and a girl are called the born mates.
It was said by their ancestors that they had come to the world with their life partners and were made to marry each other and no other.
The special night was an event for every twin boy and girl who had turned sixteen. It was called the witch's blessings.
As for the reason for this... Luna sighed with worry, expectation, and determination growing deep inside of her.
" Wow!! if I knew Obsidian Elegance was this elegant, I would have come in every day even if I never got a partner in this life to buy anything for" Lisa spoke out loud in admiration of the hall.
"Why do you say that? what about Jared?"
Luna asked, turning to look at Lisa's face which was glowing as if she had just met her crush. Her lips twitched.
Hearing this, Lisa snorted.
" Him?? how could a playboy like him be my life partner? He's unfit" she said folding her arms and letting out a huff.
Luna's lips twitched again, then holding Lisa's shoulder,
"ooh sweet Lisa, Jared would feel so hurt if he heard this" she mocked narrowing her eyes and feigning a sad look.
Lisa scoffed.
" Come on! Let's go in," She said and dragged Luna by cloth further into the shop, with Luna getting annoyed.
"Can't you hold my hand instead!!"
"Nope, it's sweaty"
" Ladies!"
A male's voice came calling from the shop's hallway.
Luna and Lisa halted.
They both turned their heads to the voice.
Lisa stared astonished.
To Lisa, only one word could describe the man in front of them, Handsome. Maybe not as handsome as Phoenix, Luna's twin brother, but it was good enough to make head turn twice.
"It's not always we get young pretty girls entering our shop. How may I assist you?" He asked politely while approaching them with decent steps giving the girls a clear view of his look.
He looked young probably in his twenties. He had his jet-black hair tied to the back with a few strands falling across his face giving him a sassy look. His tunic was long and you could tell it was of a good fabric.
"Err... we... are checking around, just err... looking through yeah..." Luna answered, releasing an embarrassing laughter.
Luna's embarrassed look caused the young man to chuckle. Starring at her face, he couldn't imagine there could be such a beautiful person on earth. Her silver was particularly very captivating and otherworldly plus that embarrassed smile, just made her look so cute.
" Ahem..."
They both turned to Lisa clearing her throat.
"Er... honestly, we would like to purchase something less expensive but nice for her twin brother..." She said with laughter that contained some bit of shyness after having both of them stare
"Lisa!!!" Luna spoke in a hushed tone, her voice cracking with a mix of shyness and embarrassment as her beautiful big round eyes widened alongside her brows furrowing.
She looked so racked up, that Lisa couldn't help chuckling.
"Oooh, you're a twin?" The handsome man asked, there was a little disappointment in his tone which the girls did not notice.
Lisa nodded, looking shyly at her feet. The nervousness grew deep inside her.
" And I'm guessing today is your witch's blessing?" He asked noticing her nervousness. Most twin girls were usually at their most happiest at this night, he wondered why she looked the opposite.
" It is" Lisa answered instead.
" Well... count yourself lucky today."
"Lucky??" the girls asked in chorus.
"Yeah, obsidian elegance has a privileged reward for the first twin that comes to purchase something on their witch's blessing day." He announced with a smile on his face.
"Really?? Never heard of that!" Lisa said, looking astonished.
" And we happen to be the first? it's already late past six this evening, someone must have already been here right?" Luna asked equally astonished and partly hoping they were the first.
He chuckled
" Well... we set the rule not long ago... and you just happen to be the first right after it..." He said.
Actually, he had just set that rule. There was no such rule at Obsidian Elegance, but he owned it so it was fine. He had built obsidian elegance but had never patrolled through it to speak to the customers. He had only wanted to do it today to see how his shop was faring.
He didn't know why, but he just felt obliged to help this silver haired girl.
