Luna's Great Escape

chapter 2 -The hunt

Trevor's POV

Arynn has been missing now for 6 months, my best trackers have been unable to find her and they've been everywhere. They even went to the spring lake pack thinking she ran home. But no avail. Didn't think she would be capable or resourceful enough to survive with out me. Looks like I have underestimated her. 

My wolf James still has a block on me and refuses to come out. I didn't know our wolves could stay so disconnected from us for so long. He is clearly still hurting from the loss. I for one just want her because she belongs to me. But with James feeling so distant its almost as if I'm losing my connection to him, like he is rejecting me. Can they do that i wonder?!

My pack is also starting to act like im no leader. With out my wolf I don't make much of an alpha. If my trackers dont find Arynn soon I fear I might lose not only my wolf but my pack as well.

BETA Jordan POV

It's seems like Alpha Trevor is loosing his grip on his leadership of this pack and I don't see good things happening to him with out his Luna.

"Track leader Ryan what is your status update on the missing Luna?" I mind link him. 

"Currently I have a lead and we are following up on it in California", he states

"A LEAD??"

"Yes sir, had a source inform me they may have seen her a few months back at the airport, so we are on our way to check it out now".

"Good job ryan keep me posted"

I run to inform Alpha Trevor immediately in hopes it will lift his spirits.

Knock knock knock

"Come in"

I walk into Alpha Trevor's office

"Well WHAT IS IT?" Trevor demands

"Alpha sir I have an update for you, I have just been informed the Trackers have a lead they are on their way now to investigate".

He slams his fists on the desk "IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME, good work. Where is this lead?"

"Sir, they are headed to California and they will update me if they find anything else".

"Good", he says happily but not satisfied.

I turn on my heal and leave.

Tracker leader Beta John POV

"We have a lead and are heading to California to investigate will keep you updated Beta Jordan". I inform him as we are about to board the packs private plane.

Its about a 10hour flight from Ireland where our territory is to California.

After a very long flight we arrive at the LA airport and are greeted by my source, Gamma Jacklyn from Ocean Storm Pack. She works here in security and scanned the camera footage over the last several months, believes the Luna arrived in LA little over 6 months ago. Since no connections with any other airport in California with have reported seeing her, we assume she may still be here in California some where.

~2 months later~

Arynn's POV

Started exploring the town more and getting involved in the community. Made some friends. Even met a she-wolf named Tara from the Sea Breeze Pack from the neighboring town over. She invited me to meet her pack but I wasn't ready. In my experience of packs they haven't been all that great. Plus being a rouge I didn't know if they would turn me in. I needed to stay safe, even changed my name to, Rosetta.

After getting to know her over the next few weeks I felt I could trust her a little more. We went out for a hike, she said there's a great place to go that's safe to let your wolf out to run. We hiked up a mountain for what felt like forever. But when we finally reach the top and came to an open meadow surrounded by dense trees, my wolf Alex was so excited to turn and stretch her legs.

"Ready?" Tara asks

"I am sooo ready"

We take off our clothes and Turn.

Tara's wolf is a good sized, beautiful and a lovely golden brown color with golden eyes to match.

Tara's POV

We just got to my favorite mountain top place. I come here all the time, especially when i just want to be alone and let my Wolf Summer run free, she loves the flowers and rolling around in them.

I've never brought anyone here before but something tells me Rosetta needs a good friend and place to escape sometimes to just let her wolf be free.

"Ready?" I ask her

"I am soo ready!" Rosetta announces

I turn into my Wolf Stellaria and stop to see Rosetta's wolf is a beautiful golden wolf like me but with a shimmer of pink to her hair with stunning icy blue eyes. Her wolf is on the smaller side, which is rare for us Californian wolfs. Makes me wonder if its normal for where ever she is from.

Our wolves have so much fun playing with each other running through the field and rolling through the flowers. We show her the pond and cave near by. Played in the pond then laid in the cave for a nice little nap. We must have been up in the mountains for hours, when i received a mind link from my Alpha.

"Tara where are you? We have visitors from the Autumn pack arrive and they are looking for their missing Luna. Have you seen a rouge she-wolf in the area?"

I look at Rosetta and think it could possibly be her. But believe she needs my help and she must have run away for a reason.

"Alpha Jacob, I am just letting my wolf run. No sir I have not seen any rouges."

He didn't question me any more.

I look over at Rosetta who was waking up from her nap. Our wolves head back to our belongings and we turn back to our human forms.

I cant help but ask her, because now I am worried and I just lied to my Alpha

"Rosetta, my alpha just told me that we have visitors from the Autumn pack at our pack house, asking about their missing Luna. Would that happen to be you?"

"Oh my goddess, I need to get out of here."

She says in a panic

"Rosetta don't go, I want to help you"

"WHY? how do i know i can trust you?"

"I am your friend and I believe that you need me, the moon goodness put you in my path for us to be friends and I know I can help you, please."

She pauses, staring at me for a moment.

"OK Tara" Rosetta says reluctantly.

"First my name is not Rosetta. I am Arynn Bancroft the missing Luna from the Autumn Pack. I rejected my Alpha Trevor for abuse, He is a mean cold man and I wont go back."

"Come with me I can take you somewhere you will be safe until they leave and we can figure something out, I promise".

We finish getting dressed and gather our things and head back towards the cave.

Alpha Jacob POV

"We need to increase our boarder patrol and the training of our best fighters."

"Yes Alpha Sir!" Beta Tyler confirms "Umm by why sir is something wrong?"

"Not yet no, but I believe something is coming".

"Sir we have visitors at our gate requesting to speak with you, they are from the Autumn Pack". The gate security guard announced by mind linked.

"Hmm ok let them thru", I tell him.

Moments later they pull up. My Beta and I greet them at the front door of the Pack house.

"Hello I'm Alpha Jacob, this is my Beta, Tyler"

The men bow their had to show respect.

"Alpha Jacob, I am Track Leader Ryan and these are my men, we are here from the Autumn Pack in Ireland, we have arrived here in search of our missing Luna, she abandoned her Alpha and Pack, we have reasons to believe she may be in your town". Tracker Ryan announces to me.

"I'm sorry to hear that, I will mind link my pack and see if anyone knows anything about a rouge female".

My eyes roll back as I send out a mass mind link, waiting to hear back. Everyone replies saying they have not met any rouges.

Waiting, listening to all the replies I realize one is missing. I send a direct mind link to my daughter Tara.

"Tara where are you? We have visitors from the Autumn pack arrive and they are looking for their missing Luna. Have you seen a rouge she-wolf in the area?"

"Alpha Jacob, I am just letting my wolf run. No sir I have not seen any rouges."

She tells me but I can tell she isn't being fully honest. Angry she just lied to me, but also understanding she must have a good reason,

I let it go and decide I should get rid of these guys and then figure out what's going on.

"Tracker Ryan, according to my Pack, no one has encountered any rouge females, but I would be happy to take your info and if anything changes you will be informed".

"Thank you, Alpha Jacob, that is all we can ask".

We exchange information, since they are not apart of our pack we can not link each other, so communication the human way is the only other option. I find out they are staying in a hotel in our town, Pismo Beach. So I have a couple of my men keep an eye on them, but to stay out of site for now.
