"Marcus" I sighed and rubbed the back of my head as I stalked over to the door which I pulled open. "What is it Isaac?" I asked the young vampire who was stood in the hallway.
"The council have called" he said striding past me without waiting for an invitation
"I know." I said Abraham had been bombarding me with mental calls for hours.
"Then why did you ignore it?" Isaac asked flopping down on the large leather sofa looking completely at home, which made me want to growl simply because it wasn't his home!
"I'm off rotation." I snapped closing the door with a little more force than completely necessary. "Like that matters, you've been summoned Abraham's pissed at you right now."
"You know this isn't inspiring me to go." I said striding over to the window feeling trapped. I hated this apartment it was the penthouse just because I liked to be further away from the hustle and bustle from below. All the windows were fitted with complete black out blinds as well as metal blinds that automatically locked my place down during the hours of sunshine, as honestly after a few seconds exposure to the sun I would start to burn my skin cracking and blistering and after a few minutes I would simply be consumed by flames. Sunlight would kill me in a matter of minutes. And of course the room I slept in had no windows at all it was safer that way (after all the majority of these apartments had been built with vampires in mind).
"Marcus I've been sent here to get you so get up off your ass and move." Isaac snapped,
"I can't I have things to do."
"The council are calling for you and you have things to do."
"yeah." I snapped keeping my eyes locked on the window as if I could see a view past the metal blinds that blocked out any hint of lingering sunlight.
"Do you expect me to go tell Abraham that?" Isaac snorted,
"Tell him whatever the f**k you want." I snarled agitated the sun may be going down but it was still too early. I didn't care about the council and their damn summons because my Girl needed me, she was scared. She had been whispering in the back of my mind, I could tell she was with a guy which I could cope with but then Someone had scared her that thought had shot through me so acutely it had awoken me from my sleep and I had been forced to pace my stupid apartment like a caged tiger until the sun went down. I wanted to race to her and defend her but I couldn't I would burst into flames before I could get anywhere near her besides I couldn't get out of this damn place until the sun went down (There were a lot of vamps in this building and they wouldn't approve of suicide). "What you going down to feed? Can't you wait?" he suggested lamely, I could feel my lips peeling back as I snarled.
"It's not even night yet."
"True but you're the only one who has completely failed to respond. ...So what are you going to do?" he asked when I failed to respond after he couldn't wait any longer.
"None of your f*****g Business. But if your going to try and make me attend to the council go ahead." I snarled softly but my threat was barely masked at all I could feel that my fangs had elongated.
"look Marcus I'm just saying your w****s are both two levels down go find one have a snack come to
see the council stay alive go eat later." I snarled but was spared the necessity of answering by the loud clattering of the shutters automatically clunking open as the sun went down. I sighed in pure relief. "Marcus." Isaac snarled, "please tell me you are not actually going to define a direct summons from the council." he said getting up to follow me as I moved to the doorway and pulled on my long black leather coat. It may seem a cliché but it does help you melt into the shadows, and for us not being seen is often the aim. "Look Brother you need to feed or f**k I get that go downstairs go to your f*****g w****s that's what you keep them for"
"You think I'd defy the council to f**k a w***e?" I snarled,
"Then what?" I opened the door,
"Tell Abraham whatever the f**k you want because I'm not coming." I said simply slamming the door and striding down the hall brimming for a fight so half wanting someone to give me a reason but nobody did stop me which was good really as I didn't have time. as soon as I was out of the stairwell on the ground floor I saw Tytus but he had been my brother a lot longer than Isaac so at the look on my face he didn't say anything but just raised an eyebrow at me. I snarled baring my fangs just in case but Tytus didn't do anything so I strode past him outside into the early dark. I took a slow calming breath as I slid into the darkness behind me and dematerialised floating in particle form out of the dark courtyard and into the night.
