Reminiscing

"Amani is a fire cracker just like your sister isn't she? I swear she reminded me so much of that night so many years ago " King Keegan was speaking to his wife as they got ready for bed she chuckled "we need to watch out for Amani , old dogs can learn new tricks and they are sneaky enough to try to be underhanded. especially that Hugo he's been trying to match his family members with ours for years now" she huffed hugging her husband she then smiled up at him "besides Amani already has a mate she just doesn't know it yet" she laughed happily her husband looked confused "she does? who is it?" she shook her head amazed he hadn't caught on to the fact Motono was her mate she had noticed it right away because she had seen them meet but had she not seen that seeing his reaction after they old men mentioned marriage alliances sealed the idea in her mind "she is mated to her saviour Motono Greyson, I bet her father and mother already knew that, that's why they formed a blood oath with his family her father always knew his brother would find a way to kill him so he entrusted her future to the Greyson's and I can tell he chose well everything I have ever heard about them is good they are loyal to the bone " Keegan was surprised how hadn't he noticed Motono was mated to Amani , of everyone who could have come to stay with her he had found it odd that it wasn't her closest friends but someone she barely seemed to know at all . He remembered what it was like when he had realized he was mated to his wife he had seen their whole childhood in her eyes and every grain of sand held a memory the filled the cracks in his heart. His big brother had been killed making him the next in line , he had always thought he would be forced into a marriage of convenience there was only one werewolf family that was deemed as royal. All other nobility were the oldest families in werewolf history, royal families would usually marry into those families as a way to expand their territories. When the gods were reborn a new royal was born as well and they would either build a kingdom of their own which their ancestors would then rule over or there would be a marriage between two royals neighboring each other and they would merge their lands together. That was what happened for the Moon and Sol families The moon family were the original royals ancestors of the Goddess Diana, they had been allies since Sol had been created but when their common neighbor had started attacking they had decided a marriage between them was the best way to ensure neither kingdom betrayed the other. The eldest children were then going to be forced into marriage regardless of the fact that they were not fated mates, while it turned out the second born children of both families were so when Prince Raff was killed Keisha Moon refused to marry Keegan instead insisting that he marry her sister. The royal court members had all tried to get Keisha to marry Keegan so that they could offer the second princess as a wife to the Frost Pack in an alliance bid to end the war but Keisha had shut them all down for trying to rule her sister's life when she already had a mate they were willing to make King and so the current Royals become the King and Queen while Keisha ran off to follow her dreams free of forced marriages for political gain. Otaktay had been obsessed with the new queen his careless actions had gotten him exiled and his kingdom became part of Azyra as not only were they outnumbered by the people from Sol immigrants from the south lands but the Moon pack were blessed by the Moon Goddess herself as the majority of them had the rare roan that showed their royal pure blood. The alpha of the Frost pack had killed himself leaving his lands to the royal family as his only son had been killed by rogues and his nephew Otaktay had been exiled with no way back he had become curse eating human flesh and was a rogue he knew Otaktay had brought death to his pack and had foresaw the hell that would follow his nephew before he killed himself not wanting to have to bare the guilt or embarrassment of being related to such an evil disgusting monster. He hugged his queen kissing her head gently "of all people who would have thought her daughter would show up and bring us our children back" "or that she would name our daughter Pearl , speaking of Pearl I think our daughter is going to be a seer" "I agree , it's so nice to have our babies back but I am a bit worried since she has not shifted even once into her human form. I know we can talk through our mind-links and howls but I want to hear our little girls voice calling out to me " She must still have a lot to learn from her wolf before it feels comfortable enough to let her shift they thought but refused to say outloud having changed they decided they would spend time with their pups so they made their way to the entertainment room where they would all gather to snuggle and watch a movie as a family. Rufus sat next to his father enjoying the closeness while Pearl laid down next to her mother who was leaning her head on her husband's lap. They had invited Amani to join them but she declined and instead was in her room with Rue and Motono looking through some of the old journals Rue had in her possession to see if they mentioned anything about a wolf seer who never shifted to human form or something along those lines.
