Gamma & Mate

Rue had been watching Motono and Amani from the corner of her eye as she divided the journals she had into four piles. There was a pile for each of them plus someone from Motono's pack that would be joining them shortly. Rue had never really seen the inner workings of a pack since she was a witch, but she found it all fascinating how their hierarchy worked. She watched Motono and Amani stealing glances at each other and smiled to herself thinking how cute it was , she knew they had a relatively big age gap between them but she had a feeling that wouldn't matter down the road. Motono and Rue had spoken about the fact he and Amani were mates , he told her he had no plans on pursuing anything with her until she was an adult no matter what the gods thought of their union as fated soul mates she was raised as a human and they had certain laws and traditions they followed in regards to dating, marriage and all that where minors were concerned. He also did not want people believing he was preying on her and so he had decided he was not going to make any moves on her romantically . Motono wanted them to truly get to know each other as people should she want to take things to the next level after she turned 21 he would consider it then but he was not going to steal anymore of her childhood innocence from her. The room was silent except for the sound of pages turning until there was a knock on the door "come in" Amani's voice was clear and welcoming the door opened slowly "sorry if I am disturbing you but is my Alpha here? " Mathius asked timidly as he entered the room not expecting such a young sounding voice to invite him in the room his nose was telling him his Alpha was in. Motono's chuckle had his head swerving in the opposite direction if he hadn't been trained so well he would be pulling his jaw up off the floor , in all the years he knew his best friend Motono had never discarded his suit jacket and tie in such a careless manner he was slouching on a chair with a stack of books next to him on the floor while he held one in his hand . After he blinked a few times he looked around the room while Motono spoke to him " the red headed beauty over there on the bed is Amani, and her friend Rue the owner of all these books is on the double seater over to your left . Ladies this is my Gamma Marthius , he also happen's to be one of my best friends as well " he smiled warmly making goosebumps appear on Marthius's arms he shook his head before mind linking Motono "bruh you feeling alright , you have never called me your best friend in front of a woman before " Motono raised a brow but turned his attention back to Amani instead " As a gamma he's responsible of discipline in my pack among other duties like being my head of military , as such he will play a big part in whatever befalls Otaktay" she smiled before she stood up walking over to him she held out her hand to shake his "it's nice to meet you , I appreciate your efforts going forward let's cooperate well together let me introduce you to Rue she will be your partner as the head of my witches committee, I hope you will get along well she's highly capable in healing but she has other tricks up her sleeve as well " she brought him over to Rue who hadn't looked up the whole time as she was in an interesting part of the book although she had heard everything being said . As they approached the girl sitting curled up in the two seater Marthius felt his hairs all standing on end it was like he was approaching an electrical current when the girl looked up he felt as though her eyes sent high voltage shocks through his entire body it felt as though he was free falling into her eyes his breath hitched then a rush of warmth filled him before he felt himself blushing as he called her "beautiful" she continued to stare into his eyes blushing as well before blinking her eyes saying "wow , what was THAT?" her eyes were wide "that's the first time I have had a vision so clear while awake, I wonder if this is that mate thing I've heard about" she blushed some more while Marthius nodded his head face flushed with wide eyes. Amani looked between Motono and the two still gazing at each other with uncertainty she walked over to him "umm what did I miss exactly? are they mates?" he smiled at her and nodded "it would seem that way yes, lets just leave them to their own devices" he would never show just how happy he was that Rue and Marthius were mates , his friend had longed for his mate for as long as he had heard about them .Amani shrugged her shoulders and went back to reading the journal she was reading but instead of going back to the position she was previously in on the bed she took a seat in the chair next to his. Amani had been caught up in what she was reading she hadn't noticed that at some point Rue and Marthius had left her room, so when she had stretched her body she was surprised to see she was the only person in the room still awake as Moton was still in the chair next to her but he had fallen asleep . She had debated waking him up or not as the heir apparent of Queen Keisha Moon a future queen shouldn't be unchaperoned or alone in a bedroom with an unwed man, however he was her saviour and perspective king even if he didn't know about it. She was aware she would have to wait until she was a full-fledged adult before attempting to sway his emotions to those of more than just a family friend and see her as more than just some little kid he saved as a toddler but she had the feeling she would never trust anyone the way she trusted him instinctively . After seeing how her friend reacted so suspected Motono might actually be her mate, but what man of his age would want to be mated to a freshly turned 17 year old when he was hitting his 30's he must find that disturbing even though he hadn't shown any signs of it. She knew very little of mate bonds could it be possible that someone theirs was a mistake? would he not reject her due to the loyalty his family had towards her own? she was conflicted she shook her head went over to him and shook his shoulder gently "Motono ? sorry to wake you but I'd like to go to bed now and I cannot do that with you still in my bedroom" he cracked an eye open grunted closed his eye then opened it quickly looking around "oh man did I doze off ? sorry about that but honestly that book was pretty boring" they shared a laugh "do you mind if I leave the books here for tonight? I will let you get your sleep now highness" he bowed to her and she smiled at the twinkle in his eye, feigned indifference with a wave of her hand "yes, yes now off with you Alpha , you have work to do in the morning" they laughed again smiling at one another "good night " they said at the same time Amani waved gently at him as he closed the door to her bedroom as he walked down the hall he saw a guard station "Princess Amani has retired for the night please make sure to send a guard to watch over her door good night " yes alpha, we will get on it as soon as the King tells us which of us has be given the honor of guarding her room. good night alpha sleep well someone will be positioned out side your door as well" he nodded he felt like telling them not to waste their efforts on him and to just double up on Amani's protections but held back this wasn't his castle or pack after all he trusted the royal family to know what they were doing so he went to his room to have a shower before turning in for the night.
