Kono Greyson mourned the loss of his friend even as a man of magic Lakota Grace had been a good man who cared for all and was a friend to all , he had lost his wife Keisha Moon during childbirth and had come to love Amani even more as the last piece of his wife and the proof of the love they had shared for one another, his love for his daughter had kept her safe but killed him. The Grace family had even helped protect their pack, having all wolfs-bane uprooted and destroyed in the area, they had also saved his own mother when she had been shot with a silver bullet. They had a lifelong friendship and believed each other to be brother's of spirit. It was the Greyson family duty to protect Amani until not one Greyson was left standing on the planet. He continued to allow Motono to stay with Amani as she was calmer with him , when his Beta had tried to take her from him the child woke and started to wail so loud the shock of it made him drop her on Motono's lap where she stopped crying instantly. She was now awake looking around her in awe as they were crossing the river, seeing him watching her Amani smiled at the Hilasmus Alpha. As she smiled at him he was transported in his mind to a time where that smile turned to a frown and she was crying, she looked to be about 16 it was raining and she was in what looked like a school uniform or maybe a work uniform as if her eyes bore into his soul the only words she said were “Help , someone help me” feeling unsettle the vision passed. He saw the look on Motono's face and the way he held her closer and knew his son had also seen the same thing “Father are we making the right choice? I mean you saw it too right, that vision just now she's going to need us “ he shook his head at his son “this must be done we are connected to her through our pact with her father whenever she is in trouble any and every Greyson will know about it. As long as we have the information we can make sure to be there for her. I promise it will be okay” he looked at his son holding the young girl and prayed to the moon goddess “please make it so she will always be safe” After they docked the boat Amani would only allow a Greyson or their mate to hold her and so as they journeyed Koki kept her company.
After Amani joined the human clan in Lunaria the Greyson Alpha's no longer had contact with her in their human forms . They kept watching her from afar but as she was not a werewolf they had limited involvement in her life wanting her to follow the path the goddess had planned for her. The village elder Siri and Kita the Shaman would send them weekly report's on her schooling and send photos of her so they could see how she was thriving in the village or when she had an injury. Keokuk had come in contact with her on her 7th birthday and had been surprised by what he had seen that day. It was July 7th and the sun was shining brightly when his skin started to tingle he then heard Dakota's voice in his head “Daddy help me!” he had rushed towards the river where his son had been playing that morning as he reached the clearing in the woods he was taken aback a brief moment there before his eyes was a giant black bear with a menacing growl it was getting ready to lunge at not only his son but Amani as well. Amani was standing her ground looking just as fierce as any well trained warrior even though she stood at only 3“6 and was 7 years old there was not even a slight trace of fear on her determined face . He started to run towards the bear and as he aimed himself to grab it's neck he heard a loud “SNAP” and watched as both children fell into the water below the dock. “Wolfie hold on! I'll save you!”Amani called out hugging the wolf that had been trying to protect her from the bear moments before, she had been swimming in the river for years and knew how to navigate through the current “ don't struggle okay just paddle hard up down motion and paddle hard “ she said hoping somehow the wolf would understand what she was telling it to do. A moment later though a giant wolf had her by the shirt and dragged both her and the wolf she was hugging out the water. The giant black wolf had sat in front of her she looked him straight in the eye and then as if looking into the soul of the wolf she said “ thank you and your son both for saving me today , I was happy to have a friend with me for my birthday today , I am honored that Wolfie here thought I was important or special enough to save. I would love to treat you both to a small treat as thanks” she smiled then walked over to the basket he hadn't noticed on the shore she came back with a big blanket and placed it on the ground “please honored guests make yourselves comfortable”she then went to the river bank a foot away from where Keokuk had dragged them out the water and pulled out a trap that had 2 fish in it “ this is my secret to catching fish please enjoy these as my thanks” she said with a smile placing the fish in front of them. Both father and son bowed their heads and ate the fish silently before bowing towards her before they started to run away “Wolfie come here and play again! I will treat you to more fish” she called out to Dakota as they ran off. After that day at the river Dakota and Amani would spend many days together over the years and would on occasion even get in trouble together for pulling pranks on people in the village or town square.
Amani had come into her powers on her 13th birthday before that point she had been aware of her talents and skills and was excelling as a medic under the tutelage of her master Shaman Kita. She had learned from him that her own Father had been a Shaman , with that knowledge she thought it was destiny that she would follow in her father's footsteps and eventually go back to his village to take up the role as Shaman . She spent a lot of her time with only 1 human the rest of the time she was with the wolf she heard Kita call Dakota but that she called Wolfie the only girl friend she had was walking towards her with her arms full of a basket of fish “Amani we need to prep the supper for tonight you deal with the fish you know I hate it” Zonta her best friend complained Zonta was an orphan just like Amani and that was what bonded them together in grade school they were polar opposites in looks where Amani was on the lighter side Zonta was the epitome of dark and mysterious. Zonta had black hair and eyes with bronze skin that had no blemishes , Zonta was also a good foot taller than her and had a very muscular build that kept the boys from picking on them now that they were in high school. Without a word of protest she started to gut the fish she left the guts in a big bowl , the wolves would eat the guts without complaint . The girls were doing chores for master Kita , he insisted that they each learnt to cook as soon as they could hold a knife without cutting themselves. After an hour they had made a nice fish stew for Kita, his wife and the two teens. “ Good job girls , the meal was well made, however I would like to see Zonta do the fish work next time you won't always be together and what if you need to cook fish when you are apart what will you do?” Zonta looked down at her feet “ aw man how did you know I didn't work on the fish ?” Kita smiled “the soup had Amani's signature taste to it next time she's doing the work make sure to add something to it to make it taste more like like something you would have made then maybe you will get away with it” from her place by the fire his wife Celeste laughed “ come on now Kita give the girls some slack they are still young let them enjoy life a bit too all they do is work picking herbs catching fish going to lessons learning survival tricks and trades let them just be children every now and then too “ he ruffled their hair with a sly grin “ well you heard the lady tomorrow you get a day off girls” “alright!” Both girls said in unison, smiling they happily walked away from the fire pit towards their own homes. Amani had her home in a tree while Zonta had a partially underground above ground hut and den , whenever they hung out they would usually be in Zonta's home as she would always tell Amani “ my feet were meant to be on the ground not in a tree no thank you” whenever she tried to get her to join her in her tree house. Feeling tired Amani had gone straight up to her home deciding she would have a bath in the morning , she got changed and went to her bed picking up a photo of her parents that had been in her possession for as long as she could remember. She looked over at a mirror at her reflection then back down at the photo she looked like her mother more than her father , she had the same hair as her mother and her father's olive skin with her mother's heart shaped face . As she laid there in bed looking at the photo her mind drifted away and her eyes closed and when she opened them again she felt disoriented she looked around her and saw she was still in her room but her physical body was now below her and she was floating above it attached by what appeared to be a thread . She slowed her breathing trying not to panic she had heard of this before it was astral projection , her body was now on a different plain it was there she met the spirit wolf who had no name but spoke to her with a voice full of concern “listen to me child never let anyone know that you can come here to this plain for if anyone were to know it could be your undoing. If you ever find yourself in danger there is one name and one name only you need to know and that is “Greyson” anyone with that name is someone you can trust. When in danger you can always come here I will help you anyway I can even if that just means connecting you to people who can help you better than I , now go child your body cannot yet handle you being away from it for so long yet but practice every day for a little at a time to build both your power and your endurance and know I am on your side always” thinking of her body her soul flew back into it and she woke with a start. She practiced every day for a year straight after that first meeting with the wolf who had still never told her what her name was, so she had taken to calling her teacher instead. Her teacher taught her many interesting things and the knowledge that her teacher was a very powerful all knowing being never left her mind with every lesson she learned. Leaving her body had become as easy as breathing after a year of practicing it and she couldn't help wondering if her powers were growing stronger with her improvement . The spirit paths had all types of beings that she would encounter there and some of them were very fascinating she listened to them tell her stories about what their lives were like before they died or messages the wished to tell their loved ones and being a shaman as she was it was her duty to write it all out and pass the messages on. There were spirit guides that also walked along the paths they never approached where she was; she would see them always in passing and they never paid her any mind at all .
