Queen Raphaelita had never felt so alive with anger as she did in the moment she heard about the things her mortal enemy Otaktay had done. The vile creature that stole her children away stole away the daughter of the village shaman. She had once been his victim and could sympathize with this young girl . The young girl didn't have a royal army to come to her rescue before things took too traumatic a turn like Raphaelita had.

As a queen she would do what she could to support this young teen. While watching her King lead his war council, she wrote letters to all the inns on route to the palace to ask for their co-operation with Amani's lodging. They would be waging war against Otaktay and the Vampires. Agents were currently giving their reports about another player in the game . A lone Dark Shaman whom they had yet to identify, their boarders were secure with all the kingdom's peoples doing their part . She currently had scouts out looking for Amani who was making her way towards the royal lands for shelter against Otaktay. She had heard that Amani was currently traveling with two young wolves, hope sparked in her then wondering if maybe one of the two may be one or both of her missing children. White and roan wolves were not very common unless they were from families with royal ties and so when she heard about the three traveling into her lands were different mixes of those colors and at least one of them could be the age of her own children.

Amani was enjoying her journey they no longer had to hide as they crossed into the territory of the North. The people lived differently from what Amani was used to. The people looked different and interacted differently instead of the little tent or cabin villages she was used to. There were farms with animals and houses everything had distance between them it was like she had entered a whole new world. She still learned magic lessons from both her wolf teacher in the spirit world and with a witch teacher that had joined them in their travels after Amani had saved her from the sickness that had taken over the whole village of Burnka. Amani had been helping the medicine man get everyone back on their feet , she had been surprised when she walked into the small dwelling that smelled like herbs and saw the young girl laid out on the ground gasping for breath.

After being saved by Amani Rue had felt indebted to her , Amani had stayed with her for three days before she was ready to move on to the next town. Upon learning that Amani was heading to the palace Rue decided she would tag along . Rue always dreamed of being a Palace witch they not only were well treated but they also had access to all sorts of herbs and magical ingredients.

Rue was from a long line of witches and she had inherited a full library of magic books , spells and theories. She could see the magic surrounding Amani so she asked her if she was a magic practitioner as well . She was happy when she found out Amani was a novice elemental magic user although her spirit magic , healing powers and knowledge were top tier . She decided to make a deal with her she would let her use all her books and teach her anything she didn't understand , all she asked was to tag along with her to the palace. Amani had readily agreed and now they were currently going down a dirt road in her mule drawn wagon with a little bit of earth magic she could allow the mule to follow the road without her holding the reins tightly. Rufus was learning how to drive the wagon while she was looking through a book trying to see if there was a way to connect mentally to Pearls wolf in hopes it may let Pearl shift into her human form.

As she got to a paragraph that might be helpful she felt the first drop of rain closed the book and looked up ahead at the condition of the road.

"Rufus the mules are better than horses since they will not spook as easily however they do not like storms even if I can keep them calm with magic for a little but we really need to stop at an inn or something before the big storm hits." he nodded "I understand I heard there is a small place about five minutes items away from the fork in the road that looks like it right up there " he said pointing towards a large tree where the dirt road dipped off to the right. As they reached the inn the first flash of lightning could be seen while thunder rolled in the distance . The inn keepers were so kind and generous to them giving them two rooms that were connected to each other and brought them up a full course meal. Shay who turned out to be a she and not a he as Amani had previously thought had decided she liked Amani and continued to follow the group everywhere the went so after they had their fill she opened the window and allowed Shay to enter the room to eat any of the left overs she wanted. After they finished eating Rue went to give Pearl a bath Amani curled up in the bed with a book to read Shay hopped up on the bed walked over to her and sat in her lap to nap. Amani petted Shay gently as she read "the best way to reach the inner wolf is to talk to the wolf stare into the wolves eyes until you connect through your soul , connecting spirits you can meet in the spirit plane and plead your case to the wolf that way. " she wondered if maybe her teacher could connect her to the wolf spirit of Pearls to see what she would need to overcome to be able to shift but she wondered if it was really a good idea after all since the wolf was protecting Pearls human which would be vulnerable if she shifted at a wrong time. Amani closed her eyes calmed her breathing as she pet Shay she fell into a trance "teacher can you contact Pearls wolf and find out if she will be able to shift into a human any time soon? or do you think it's better to just leave her be as is for the time being" she couldn't tell what expression her teacher had she could only see their head shake side to side "the young girl is not ready to shift yet she has much to learn about being a wolf. She will be fine you do not have to worry about her , you have your own studies to focus on you have much to learn still" she sighed "yes teacher " she said as she went through the mantras she learned as a child "death kills but the body the vessel of the soul it does not claim the spirit , spirit come to me " she felt the familiar tingling across her skin even though she wasn't in her body at the moment her breathing stilled even more the spirit that came forth did not take on a human shape but it did speak "you have 3 enemies in this world , one who wants you dead , one who would break you, use you then kill you, the last is the worse of all for he will defile your body and mind p*****t your mind as well as any future children" "I know of two enemies the monster that kidn*pped me and the other would be my Biological uncle who wanted to twist my mind so that I would marry him and create a family with him. But who would the third enemy be?" the misty form then spoke again "surely you were told how your father , your entire village died" "you mean vampires?" she questioned wondering why a vampire would want her dead. The spirit did not respond to her question instead it merely said "your uncle played in it's mind and now it is in league with your other enemy, I have said all I can say now good bye" as the spirit left she looked towards her teacher "I must leave now I have a lot to think about " without waiting for an answer she went back to her body with a deep breath her hand stilled and Shay peeked up at her with a half open lid "no stop cuddle" she chuckled then scratched her head "sorry lovely , I have too much on my mind " she hugged Shay who rubbed against her body "sad?" the crow asked rubbing against her cheek she nodded rubbed her cheek against the crow "I'm scared for the future" she admitted outloud "don't worry no matter what happens you won't face it alone" Rue said standing next to her the siblings nodded in agreement before Shay spoke clearly the first sentence she ever spoke "I will keep you safe" Amani smiles as tears fell from her eyes.
