Shades of Life

They say everyone’s life is different and everyone has one or the other thing going on in their life, which is true but up to certain extent. I grew up in a happy, loving family. My parents though had an arrange marriage, fell in love after that. They always loved and helped each other, so they are my biggest inspiration. They give preference to their work as well as their personal life. They are the kind of people you get jealous when you see them together. Though they have their ups and downs, they always pull through. So sorry, without introducing myself I’m making you guys envious of my parents. I’m Akshara Vashisht, loving daughter of Rohit Vashisht and Veena Vashisht. I’m 23 year old System Analyst, working in a start up company. I’ve lived my whole life in Mumbai. I’ve had an amazing childhood with a bunch of friends who I’m still in touch with, they all were my neighbors. I have a gang of friends in school which continued to college as well. Lot of my relatives are trying to get me married for their own selfish reason. I’m not going to say that my dad is rich but he does have crores together property inherited from my grandfather. All my dad’s younger brothers and elder sister did get the same amount of property but either them or their kids exploited it to a certain extent. And now they are jealous of the fact that I alone get my dad’s property and they want me to get married to- not sure but they just want to see me suffer, that is for sure. But I have other plans for myself which fortunately, my parents support. So, I’ll be leaving to Bangalore, which is a IT hub. I attended a job interview for Senior Software Engineer, in Mehta Industries and guess what, I got the job. I’ll be starting next week and I have packed all my stuff. My dad actually, brought a 3-BHK flat in Bangalore and thankfully, it is just few kilometers away from the company. My living scenario is set, I’ll be taking my car so travelling is also set. All I have to do in these 7 days is spend time with my parents, they support me but this is the first time I’ll be living away from them so they are a bit worried. Mehta Industries, is a part of Mehta Company. They have many branches in every industry there is. Opportunity to work in such a reputed company is an honor. Vir Mehta, the owner of the Company is a legend. Though, he inherited the company from his father he took it to another level. He recently released his memoir, I got the copy on the first day itself. I’m a big fan of his and he is an inspiration for sure. I’ve read about his struggle both professional and personal. He inherited the company at a young age, after his father’s sudden demise. He worked really hard on it and won many businessman awards. The turnover and the profit of the company is unbelievable. Personally, he had a rough life too. His wife passed away after his second son birth. He had to manage both his sons and the company at the same time. According to me, he is great. I’ve seen a lot of business wasting their money and getting themselves involved in a lot of scandals but this man is perfect. He cares about his company and his family just as much. According to tabloids, there are lots of rumors recently that his elder son moved to US with his wife cutting all this ties with the family but not sure how much this is true. However, his younger son Varun Mehta is the talk of the town. He joined the company few years back. He finished all his education in abroad so no surprise there. Apparently, he is very handsome and tough according to my friend’s gossip. My female friends were more than happy that I got a job in this company. They follow him on ** and Twitter and let me just say, all of them are crushing hard on him. Not that I’m an innocent, goody two shoes kind of girl but after my breakup I just want to concentrate on work and family. I’m really not interested in any movies star or any handsome hunk as my friends describe him. He is the CEO of the company; it is not that easy to take over a company which has such high standards. Especially, not at his age. He is only 27 I’m guessing. But surprisingly, he has handled everything very well. Everyone was skeptical at first about him but he had proved himself by gaining many wealthy projects and increasing company profit the year he joined. Though, his father and his uncle still work in the company and lend him a hand, he is doing an exceptional job. I know so much about their company because my manager was a huge fan of Vir Mehta. He used to keep tabs on their company from a long time. He used to talk about him every chance he got so I know a little bit more about them than I should. My manager was so jealous when I got a job in Mehta Industries. I chuckle every time I remember his face when I told him the news. Apart from their personal life, I’m very excited to work in this company because of their known protocols for work ethics. Their policies for embezzlement or s****l harassment is amazing. They have no tolerance towards any bullshit and have a safe environment for their customers, clients and mostly employees. So, I’m very excited to start working there. Meeting new people and working on new exciting projects in my goals. Did you find my life boring? Boy oh boy! Just wait and watch. You are in for a treat.
