Her Clumsiness

“Who’s Carla?” I asked curiously braking their conversation. “CEO’s assistant, uh! The worst. You know she acts like she owns the whole damn company” Richa said making a disgusted face. “And god, she is so condescending. Just because Senior Mehta calls her to check up on Varun sir she thinks she will become his daughter-in-law in the future” Keith said shaking his head. “Ah, she’s one of those haa” I said dragging my words as realization drawn upon me. “Yep, she’s a bully alright” Richa said crunching her nose. “Who’s a bully?” Vani asked joining us, she sat beside Keith at the other end. “Carla” said Keith and her face crunched in distaste. So, okay. Everyone hates Carla. Apparently she’s a b***h. Cool. “She made me write my reports twice just because she lost the ones that I gave her” came a new voice. I looked up to see Ashish. “Dude, she did the same to me” Keith exclaimed. “Hey, I’m Ashish” He said nodding, he looked cute in his nerdy glasses. “Hi, I’m Akshara” I said with a smile. “Vani” same Vani looking at me with a blank face. I nodded in acknowledgement. I’m getting judgmental vibes from her. Eh! Worry for another time. I continued to eat and they started filling me up about the company and the people I should go to if I need to get my work done. They also told me about the people I should avoid and surprise surprise, Carla was the first one they warned about. Hey, I’m calm and cool with new people. Sure, I can be hesitant in the beginning but I warm up well. If anyone is a b***h to me, I don’t need to do much as it shows in my face how I feel about them. I’m like an open book that people can read easily. Whatever I feel will be easily written on my face, I can’t help it.    I can’t stand a bully. Some of my family members are bullies especially guys. They think guys are more superior than girls. I think their ego is bigger than their d***s. After lunch, we got back to our floor and I started watching those KT sessions and making notes. After an hour, Rahul came and made an announcement that we have to go to Varun sir’s floor for a stand up meeting. My hands started to clump remembering his glare that he bestowed upon me this morning. Okay, my English might sound weird but it is all because of ‘Bridgerton’ series. I’m obsessed with it and hence the twisted words. We all entered the elevator chatting. I was asking Aarav about the software that we would be using, we were basically discussing the session videos. When we entered his floor, my jaws dropped to the floor. This complete floor was like another world compared to the other floors. It’s very elegant and posh and my god, the color contrast is amazing. I’m getting ‘Devil wears Prada’ feeling. Feeling my throat parched, I asked Richa water. She took me to a gaming room on the opposite side of his cabin. It was every teenage guys dream. It had foosball, air hockey, Ms. Pac man, a large TV connected to PlayStation. Damn! I took a glass of water with me after drinking one. I forgot to get my bottle in a hurry this morning. I drink a lot of water when I’m nervous. And I get up to pee a lot too. I followed Richa, she opened the door and walked in without holding the door for me and I leaped it hold it open as I was holding my large phone in other hand and at the same time the door opened. It all happened so fast, I always react too quick. I always say things I shouldn’t say and embarrass myself. I overreact and get embarrassed. This is one of those times. The water in the cup leaped too and it spilt on the person who open the door. A gasp left my mouth at the action and trust I peed a little when I saw who that person was. Varun Mehta. I’m damn sure this is officially my first and last day at work.
