Hey guys: Just a reminder I came across some quotes that symbolizes what I want to depict in this story at some point so I thought of adding few quotes and my thoughts describing them in my point of view. You guys can read it or skip it totally up to you. Don't forget to comment and let me know what you think. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ “The first step toward success is taken when you refuse to be a captive of the environment in which you first find yourself.” -Mark Caine To be very brief, the above quote means that we won’t attain great success if we don’t get out of our comfort zone which is absolutely true. Humans usually go out of their comfort zone when they are desperate. That’s when they either make some good decisions or bad, it’s usually bad. Mark Caine is an analyst, strategist, and communicator operating at the intersection of technology, policy, markets, and society. In life we need to learn to take risk and that happens when you passionate about something and are ready to go out of your way to get it. If we want to reach a whole new level, we must get out of the environment that we dwell in and take some charge on life. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Enjoy the chapter: I reached office early today. I could hardly sleep because I slept with my head filled with thoughts so I had a heavy dream where I’m running and it was so twisted that I woke up all tired. This happens when I’m too tired or stressed. When I’m too tired I do talk in my sleep and my friends told me that it’s mostly in English. I get well versed in English when I’m either asleep or drunk. You should listen to me when I’m drunk, I’m savage. I remember after college, Mona and I had few months’ time before we joined the company so we both went to Delhi to do some computer science course. Since few of our high school friends were there, we all enjoyed those 3 months a lot. I remember one day we all went to a retro pub as it was one of our friend’s birthday. I drank few shots and I saw drunk. That was the first time in my life that I got drunk. I did so confidently because Mona was with me. When we came back to PG, I was scholar in English. ‘Okay! Okay! control. Your English is getting out of hand. We don’t have to alert anyone’ that’s what Mona said when I went on and on about something in English. Those were some of the good times. We meet few girls there and were like a gang. They were fun but after that we all drifted away after Mona and I came back to Mumbai. Chuckling at my thoughts, I took my bottle and phone out of my purse. After settling myself, I started working. It’s the last day of work and I’m happy. Tomorrow Richa and I are going shopping and after that we might go out for lunch or dinner. Sunday, I’m planning to spend the whole day watching K-dramas and eating junk food. That reminds me I have to go grocery shopping. Yeah, I need some junk food. I’m getting shorthanded on them. I started my computer and gathered all the documents that I needed. I always like to make hard copy for the documents that I need more often. Staring at a soft copy and working on it is very irritating say the girl who had read and still reads tons of books on websites that too on phone. I still can’t figure out myself. “Hey Aksh” I heard someone as they opened my door. I moved my eyes from my pc and looked at the door to see Aarav as he entered my cabin and placed himself comfortably on the guest chair. He looks awfully cheery. “Hey, what’s up?” I asked casually turning back to my pc. I’m trying to find a flow in which I want to set up the code and break it down into parts to allot it to the supporting team. “I heard you helped Archie yesterday” Aarav asked with a wide smile. “Yes” I said sternly not wanting to remember what happened next. I’m still sensitive about it. I don’t want to see him either and not think about him at all. “Thank you” He said sincerely looking at me with a kind look. “I just did what anyone could Aarav and no one can see Archie in pain. Now can we start arranging these requirements. Monday we should explain the other team about it” I said trying to change the topic. I kept my voice professional. “Is something wrong?” He asked looking at me to find some clue. “No, why?” I said nonchalantly. “You sound different” He said carefully not wanting to offend me. “I didn’t get much sleep last night Aarav, that’s it. I plan on sleeping s**t ton today so let’s get started” I said pointing at the pc. He nodded and got into business mode. We divided the code requirements to all the other team members and to us as well. We took the basic one’s as we have to give them the foundation at least so that they can build on it. Once we did it, he went to his cabin and we started working on our own. I forgot about the time and kept working, it was until Ashish came and called me for lunch. Keeping pc in sleep mode, I went out. I was so into work that I forgot about lunch and to we frank I’m not that hungry. That’s what happens every time whenever I’m working I don’t feel hungry. When I’m not doing anything and don’t have any tension I eat like a pig. We all took our food and sat in our sofa. Surprisingly, everyone is here at the same time. “Man, todays chicken biryani looks good” Keith said rubbing his palm. I have to agree with him, it does look fine. If I was hungry I would have taken that definitely. “Even egg biryani is tasty” Ashish chimed in pointing towards his food. “Both are basically same, instead of chicken they have added egg that’s it. Rice is the same” I said shrugging. “True, let me take a bite” Keith said placing his spoon in Ashish’s food. I’m not that comfortable with sharing my food and also eating in the same spoon as other person. I didn’t even eat the food my parents have touch till I was in college. Now the only person I’m okay with letting them put their spoon in my food is Mona. If that spoon has curd on it then hell no to everyone. “Guys, are we directly going to the inaugural function or are we meeting here” Richa asked taking a bite of her food. “Since we don’t have office that day, it’s better to meet there itself” Vani said nonchalantly. I swear, I’ve never seen her laugh at all. “True” Aarav agreed with her and rest nodded their head including me. “So when are we going for shopping?” Richa asked me all excited. “Tomorrow, if you are free” I said shrugging. “I’m totally free, we can go for lunch after that” She chimed in and I nodded enthusiastically. “Guys, how about we go to a pub tomorrow? There is this DJ coming to Tryst pub. He is amazing” Keith pitched in all excited. “With a dance floor?” I exclaimed looking at him like a kid on sugar rush. “Of course” he said smiling brightly. “Then count me in. I want to dance my heart out and let free” I said getting excited. I love dancing that too in a pub. With loud music and vibrant lighting, it will be a blast. It’s been too long since I went to one. “Me too, let’s buy new dress for that too” Richa said excited to me and I nodded back enthusiastically. “I’ll on board” Aarav said raising his arm lazily. We all turned towards Ashish and Vani. “I’m out” Vani said shrugging. We didn’t even blink and turned towards Ashish. We know forcing her is a lost cause. “Is it okay if I bring someone?” Ashish asked looking at us flustered. “Ooohh, it is your girlfriend?” Richa asked winking at us. We all looked at him controlling our smiles. “Never mind” Ashish said sighing. “Oh come on, tell us. We promise, we will be on our best behavior. Right guys?” I asked everyone, all except Vani nodded. “Fine and yes she is my girlfriend” He admitted shyly and Richa and I cheered making him more flustered. Awe, he is so cute. “To a great weekend ahead” Aarav said smirking raising his water cup. We all chuckled and raised our cups and cheered. Obviously excluding Vani.
