My boyfriend Oscar and I were sitting in my living room on the couch, just watching random sitcoms that were playing on the tv.
"Ven, you've been awfully quiet. Is everything alright?"
I sighed and leaned my head on Oscar's shoulder. "I'm fine Oscar, just tired because I have mainly morning classes this semester."
"That sucks, but at least we have the rest of the day to hang out." He winked and pecked the top of my head.
"Oscar, you have evening classes." I muttered with a captain obvious tone to my voice, a little confused by his comment because it was... well, it was kind of stupid. I loved the kid but he was a little slow sometimes.
"Oh. Yeah that's true," he mumbled as if it just dawned upon him. "But we'll manage, you know. We always do."
I smiled lightly and nodded my head, "Yeah, we do."
Lately things have been a little weird between us. It was like we never had anything to talk about and then there were times when it felt like we were in the most awkwardness of silence when we should feel comfortable. Maybe it was just me, I don't know.
"I'm home!" Galen called out dramatically as he entered the house. "Oh gosh, get a room."
"We're watching a movie," I rolled my eyes at my brother as I sat up straighter so I was no longer leaning into Oscar. We weren't even watching the movie, we were talking.
He narrowed his eyes at me, his protective side coming out. "Mhm. That's all it should be. I don't want to hear anything, thanks." He muttered before walking up to his room as I rolled my eyes again.
"Sorry about him." I sighed as I leaned back into the couch cushions feeling exhausted.
"Tired?" He asked as he moved closer to me and placed his head on my shoulder. Did I not just tell him a was tired? My crankiness was getting the best of me. Usually I would never react to his comments this way. I was just tired, that's all.
"Mhm," I nodded as I fixed my gaze on the tv screen.
His lips traveled and made their way on my neck as he started leaving soft kisses. I sighed as I shut my eyes, not because I was feeling intimate but because I wanted to sleep.
I felt like I could doze off but Oscar started climbing further on to me and sucking on my neck.
I moaned as I shook him away, "Oz, not tonight." I muttered weakly, not in the mood. That's what college does - it wears you out.
"Come on babe, we haven't had any time to each other lately." He retorted softly as he continued to leave kisses on me.
He started leaving kisses against my jaw so I placed my hand on his chin, "Oz, I'm really tired. Not tonight, okay?" I lightly pecked his lips.
He sighed and then leaned back on the couch, "I feel like you've been a little distant lately." He glanced at me from the corner of his eye.
"It's just classes. They've been tiring lately, I'm not sure why." That was partially true. Yes classes were tiring as hell but honestly, I just hadn't been feeling very intimate lately. In other words - I didn't feel like having s*x with my boyfriend.
"Are you sure?" Oscar looked at me skeptically with his eyes narrowed. He didn't seem convinced.
I looked at him, "What does that mean?" My eyebrows pulled together as I sat up straighter.
"Is there someone else?"
I raised an eyebrow, "You're seriously inquiring that you think I'd cheat? That's a little low, no?"
I was taken by surprise from his comment. I didn't expect a curve ball like that and also didn't understand why he would assume that.
Maybe I was also starting to PMS. That's another one of the only valid reasons I could come up with.
"What, no!" He exclaimed as he sat up straighter. "That's not what I meant."
"That's literally what you inquired." I shook my head as I stood up, not in the mood to argue right now either.
"Come on, Ven. I'm just checking to see if we're okay." He sighed as he stood up and grabbed my wrist.
I blinked. "Oscar, maybe you should go. I think I want to head to bed."
"Babe-"
"No, really," I wriggled my wrist out of his grasp. "I'm tired and I want to sleep."
"Can't we just talk about this?" He groaned. I could sense the annoyance in his tone now.
"Can we talk tomorrow?" I offered, my eyelids feeling heavy. I was not in the mood for this right now. I really just wanted him to leave.
"But why can't w-"
"Oscar, buddy," Angelo came over and placed a hand on Oscar's shoulder. "She said she wants to sleep so maybe you should go." I hadn't even realized he came in.
Angelo's voice was cold and firm. I could tell he was ready to throw a punch at Oscar.
"Angelo this isn't nece-"
"Man, just stay out of it, this is between us." Oscar cut me off and shook Angelo's hand away. He was getting angry and when he got angry it wasn't always pleasant since he was normally an aggressive person.
"Oscar," I reached out and grabbed his forearm. "Just relax, maybe you should head out now. It's getting late." My voice was calm but tired and I smiled weakly in attempts to keep the situation under control but I could sense Angelo glaring at Oscar without even having to look.
"Like I said, she said she wants you to leave." Angelo said firmly as he kept his gaze set on Oscar.
"What is going on here?" Galen called from the top of the staircase. I looked at him with pleading eyes, hoping he would understand that I just wanted this situation to pass over so I could head to bed.
My bed felt like heaven right now. I would kill to be wrapped up in my blankets.
"Back off man, I already said that this doesn't involve you." Oscar growled.
"Oscar-"
"Just leave, okay. You're clearly not wanted here anymore." Angelo retorted, anger growing in his voice as he took a step closer to Oscar.
"And what are you going to do if I don't?" Oscar was trying to get the last word.
"This isn't even your house," Angelo muttered with furrowed eyebrows. He let out a bigger chuckle, clearly amused by Oscar's easily developed anger that we all had witnessed more than once.
"And it's yours?" Oscar shot back. "No, I didn't think so."
I swallowed as I watched the growing feud in front of my with no idea what to do at the moment. Galen was making his way down the stairs now.
"Oscar, come on, just let it go." I said softly as I stepped closer to him and placed a hand on his arm.
He pushed me away and kept a harsh gaze on Angelo, obviously feeling threatened by him. I wasn't an i***t, I could see it.
"Hey, what the hell!" Galen called out. "Don't touch her like that."
"Leave," Angelo exhaled sharply. "Leave before I kick your a*s out."
Oscar shot him one last glare before he stomped out of the house. I didn't think he'd talk to me too easily tomorrow.
"Are you okay?" Galen turned to me and wrapped a protective arm around me.
I sighed, too tired to think properly. "Yeah, I'm fine."
"No, Venezia, I'm serious. Are you okay?" Galen had a look of concern on his face as he stared at me.
I nodded, "Yes, G, I'm fine. Don't worry about me-"
"No, he can't touch you like that. He literally just shoved you." Angelo retorted, not happy with what just happened but also having a look of concern in his eyes.
"Guys I'm fine. It was just in the moment and he was mad but it wasn't even that hard. I just want to sleep now so I'm going to bed." I didn't wait for either of them to say anything but instead, just headed up to my room and flopped onto my bed, praising the lord for the comfiness I was blessed with.
