Avery has been experiencing some weird stuff since her 18th birthday; heightened senses, splitting headaches, and situations with no logical explanation. There's no one she can turn to having lost all family at age four. Now, Avery must race to find someone to tell her what is happening to her before it's too late.

But who she finds- or rather, finds her, will likely have far more answers then she's prepared for.

Avery
Avery sighed, nibbling the tip of her pen as she stared out the window. Rain droplets slid slowly down the window, as distant thunder shook the sky. She looked back at her journal. Lately, Avery hadn't been feeling quite herself. Something was off- she wasn't sleeping well, and most foods just repulsed her. She'd been through this before, but nothing so intense, and she was constantly finding her mind wandering. If she was being honest, she wasn't sure she even knew what 'herself' felt like anymore. Something had shifted in her 18th birthday, a hole in her heart, her stomach, that felt like it was about to engulf her. In what, she didn't know. But something wasn't right. She sighed again, and closed the journal. Usually organizing her thoughts helped her control her mind, her anxiety, but today she just couldn't find the words to put on the page to describe what she'd been feeling these last few weeks. When she did dream, it was off places she'd never seen before, and people she didn't recognize. Avery felt like she was looking for something or missing something. She looked up at the clock in her room, and realized the time. "s**t, I'm gonna be late," she said, springing out of bed, as she noticed the clock read 6:45pm. Her friends had noticed her pulling away and while most of them truly couldn't care less, her closest friend Jordan insisted they met up once a week at least. Avery suspected if was go check up on her and make sure she was still alive and not doing anything stupid. Avery scurried around her apartment trying to grab her keys, purse, and shoes.she was supposed to meet Jordan for dinner at 7 at the usual spot. She ran out the door, shutting and picking the door behind her as she ran through the drizzle to her car and climbed in. The restaurant they met in Tuesdays was just a few minutes from her place. No doubt an attempt on Jordan's end to ensure she actually showed up as planned. A little while later, she pulled into the parking lot and parked right next to Jor's car. Jordan waved, still sitting in the driver's seat and went to get out. "Avery, do you ever arrive anywhere on time?" Jordan smirked as she got out of her Subaru, and gave Avery a quick hug. Avery looked at her watch. Damn. 7:30. Where'd the time go? "Not if I can help it I don't. Plus, you should know I always arrive late by now, it's not like we do this every week," Avery retorted with a smile, warmly returning the hug of her friend.
