The Questions

Hannah slept for many hours, the next time she woke up, she was back in the hospital room, she had fled from. Toby and Cammie were by her side again.

“Hey cupcake, don’t you ever do that to me again” Cammie scolded “how are you feeling?”

Hannah closed her eyes feeling her body “Okay I think, my feet are hurting a bit” she replied. She sat up in the bed, Cammie placed a few pillows behind her back, and Hannah nodded being grateful for the kindness. Then she looked towards Toby who sat next to her, “Hey kiddo”

Toby frowned, by the sound of the word kiddo. “Hey Hannah” he mumbled softly.

“What’s up with that frown?”

He sighed but didn’t reply.

“Where is my troops?” she asked Toby.

“They are at a new house, Xander found. They are all good, they get food, and clothes, and real beds!” Toby was excited to tell about it. He kept telling about everything about the new house. They all got their own rooms, and there was light, and warm water for showers and they even went to a school now. While Toby was talking about all the things that had changed during her hospital days, Cammie just sat down on one of the comfortable chairs, watching them.

Hannah listened to every word, feeling as if Toby was painting a way to good picture. It couldn’t possibly be that good. She had only been out for a couple of weeks. It felt like it was to good to be true. She watched Toby while he was talking. He looked so different, more confident, His brown eyes looked like they had become another shade, somehow they had become darker than they used to be. He also looked a bit taller and muscular. Hannah wondered how he could have grown so much in just a fortnight. He looked so muck older. After a while of Toby telling her how great everything is, she decided she needed to see them for herself. It couldn’t be as good as he said. She needed to see her kids. That was the most important thing in her mind.

“I want to see them, I want to see that they are fine, can you take me to them?” she asked Toby.

Toby looked at her, “I think you should be better before you leave the hospital again, but I can ask Xander if they can visit you.

“Since when do you ask for permission to do anything” Hannah smiled.

“It’s a long story, but Xander is pretty cool. He also cares about you a lot”

Hannah got flustered by the thought of Xander liking her, he was so tall and handsome, and his green eyes, with the shade of golden. She felt a pleasuring shiver up her spine by the thought of him and her cheeks got a bit pink.

“I need to see them”

Cammie interrupted the conversation, “They will be brought here to you, in a few days. You need to relax some more. You almost died, more than once, and Xander really need you to be safe”

“Why does Xander care about me? What is in it for him?” Hannah eyed her with hesitation. “He has only met me a handful of times, most of the times he has saved me”

“That is because you are special to him” Cammie answered.

Hannah frowned; how could she be special to someone she hasn’t even really met. “I need to see my troops, and I need to see them now, If you wont bring them here, I will get up and visit them myself. I really don’t want to sound ungrateful towards Xander, but nothing, is going to keep me from seeing my kids!”Cammie sighed, okay cupcake, I will call Xander.

Cammie left the room with her phone but for some reason Hannah could still hear her through the closed door, She could only hear Cammies part of the conversation and she couldn’t help but to eavesdrop.

“Your mate wants to see her troops, and she is threatening to leave again, unless she sees them”

Are you sure it’s a good idea? She is still not well after everything that has happened during the last couple of days”

“Yes Alpha”

The conversation rose even more questions for Hannah. What does being a mate mean? Why did she call Xander alpha? Was it even Xander she called? Then she recalled the day at the school where Xander *rejected her as a mate*. Nothing really made sense for her.

When Cammie re-entered the room, she looked at Hannah, “Xander will have them transported here tomorrow. It is late and they are on their way to bed now.”

Hannah sighed with relief, leaning back and closing her eyes.

“Yeah it is getting late” Toby sighed, “Xander is going to have my ass served on a silverplate if I don’t go to school and practice tomorrow”

Hannah opened her eyes, “does he hit you?” she asked with horror.

“Toby looked at her and rolled his eyes. Do you really think, I would like him if he beat me up? It was just an expression, don’t worry mum, he said with a smirk.” He bent down and Hannah kissed his forehead and hugged him. “Remember, be kind and gentle she said and winked. Sleep well, I will see you tomorrow”

After Toby left, Hannah closed her eyes, she needed to get some answers, but she didn’t know where to start, after being in silence for awhile Cammie broke it. “Hannah, I am really sorry about yesterday”

Hannah frowned “why are you apologizing for?”

“I should have known how much the other children means to you and told you they were safe. It didn’t occur to me to tell you. When we came to the orphanage, looking for you. We saw Toby on the floor and the other kids in a big room. They all were so scared, and Tom was so brave trying to defend them all. We just couldn’t let them stay there. Xander comes from a huge family with money, and he made all of his family participate in trying to care for them. I am really sorry I didn’t tell you. It didn’t occur to me that you felt they were more important than your own health” Cammie looked a bit ashamed.

Hannah didn’t say anything at first astounded by Cammie’s words, and the guilt she felt. “I didn’t ask. I didn’t think you knew anything about them. So, it is not really your fault.”

Cammie smiled a bit; “I should have known; you are my Luna.”

“What does that word mean. Luna”

Before Cammie could answer, the door opened, and two young men entered. One of them had short blond hair, green eyes and a tattoo of a wolf howling towards the moon on his left overarm. The other guy was a tall dark-haired guy with brown eyes “Hey Hannah, you are finally awake, are you done playing sleeping beauty.” the young blond guy said with a smirk. Cammie rolled her eyes. “This dumbass is called Luke; I don’t think you have officially met before.

“Well we haven’t, but I have watched you sleep” He said with a wink.

The other guy slapped him on the back of his head” Way to go if you want to sound like a creep”. He reached out his right hand “Hello, my name is Christian”

Hannah took his hand and shook it, “Hello” She smiled at their tone. “How can I help you?”

“Oh, we are just here to make sure we don’t have to run around the city looking for you again” Luke said with a smile.

“Hannah giggled at his tone; she could sense that he was the funny one of the group. “I am truly sorry about the problems I have caused you”

“Well it is our job, don’t worry about it” Christian replied.

“You are probably tired, it has been a long day,” Cammie said, “I will be back tomorrow morning, and one of these charmers are going to stay outside your room tonight. You will be safe and if you need anything, just yell for them. The doctor will be here first thing tomorrow morning”

“Okay, thank you”

The three of them left the room and Hannah was by herself for the first time since she woke up today. She laid back, and suddenly her stomach growled, she couldn’t remember when she had last eaten. Maybe she could find something on the hallway. She got out of the bed and headed to the door on her very sore feet, she walked very slowly since they pained her. She opened the door slowly, and outside she found Luke and Xander. “Hey Hannah, I thought you were in bed, what can I do for you?” Xander said surprised.

Hannah blushed, “Uhm, could I get some food, I forgot to ask Cammie about some food before she left” Hannah’s stomach suddenly growled loudly.

Xander smiled, “of course you can get some, Luke will grab it”.

“Oh, I can go by myself, if you want, you can lead the way” Hannah said, and took a small step outside and made a pained face.

Xander growled by her expression, and lifted her up bridal style, she placed her arms around his neck, “you shouldn’t go on your feet. They are not properly healed yet. Luke, can you grab her some food” he said while carrying her back into the room and her bed. He sat her back down onto the bed.

After he put her down, his head was close to Hannah’s. He looked into her eyes.

“Why do you keep on hurting yourself princess”he said with a low rough voice. He let his left hand caress her cheek. The feel of his touch created small sparks, on her skin. She felt her cheeks heat up. Hannah looked at him, not capable of uttering a single word, but just enjoying his touch.

“Why do you keep calling me princess”

“Because you are the prettiest girl I know, and you are a princess to me”He said, still with his hand on her cheek.

Hannah didn’t know how to respond to those words. Suddenly a knock interrupted their moment and Luke entered the room with a silver tray.

“Hey there I have gotten some food. I didn’t know what you like, so I got a bit of everything” He handed gave Hannah the tray.

She looked at it and laughed, “Who could ever eat this much food. The tray was filled with, freshly cut fruit, potatoes, steak, bread, salad and youghurt.

“Oh, what you don’t eat I will, Luke said with a smirk, and left the room, leaving Hannah and Xander in the room again.

Hannah began eating, she ate small bites and enjoyed it. Xander watching her every move. When she was full, she tried to get up so she could carry the tray to the table. Xander took it from her he sighed “What part of resting don’t you understand”

He removed the tray and carried it outside the door to Luke, then he came back.

“Th... Thank you for everything Xander.” Hannah smiled. “I can never repay you for your kindness, you keep saving me, and then this hospital, I don’t have any money so I can never repay you”

“You don’t owe me everything” He answered. “But you need to sleep now”

“Uhm, can I ask you another favour before you go, it is kind of embarrassing…” Hannah asked, now beet red.

“Anything”

“Can you carry me to the bathroom” Hannah was embarrassed by her request, but the thought of walking on her feet was even worse.

Xander smiled by her request, “of course, he lifted her up bridal style again, and carried her to the bathroom door, she went inside the few steps. Finished her business. Then stumbled to the door again, and Xander carried her back to the bed.

“Now sleep well Princess,” he said and kissed her forehead. She laid back on the pillow, and he left the room.

“Our mate is sure fine” a familiar voice purred inside her head.

“Alina, is that you” Hannah replied within the mindlink

“Yes”

“Why did you disappear the other day, I thought I was going crazy?”

“Well we are not so strong yet, but being with our mate helps”

“What does that mean, Alina, mate?”

But the voice of Alina was gone again. Hannah sighed, and fell into a deep sleep again, dreaming of Xander, and amazing sparks on her skin.

Xander

Xander sighed with relief when he had gotten the message about Hannah being awake, but this time he wasn’t going to see her. He couldn’t be around her with all his feelings jumping around. He couldn’t be a good alpha while worrying about her all the time.

He frowned when he got a call from Cammie. “Your mate to see her troops, and she is threatening to leave again, unless she sees them”

“I will let them visit her tomorrow”

“Are you sure it’s a good idea? She is still not well after everything that has happened during the last couple of days” Cammie asked with worry.

“Don’t doubt me, Cammie, I am pretty sure that she will find a way to leave if she doesn’t get to see them. That’s a risk I do not want to take, I just found her, sick and almost dying, twice. I just need her to be safe”

“Yes alpha”

Xander tried to stay away from the hospital, but all he could think off was her scent, and her amazing body and angelic face. Xavi wasn’t any help, he kept complaining. He wanted to see his mate. So Xander decided to go to the hospital late when she was asleep. That way he could calm Xavi down while she was asleep, and he didn’t have to worry about her.

When he walked on the hallway, Xavi, became calmer as he got closer to her room. He saw Luke sit in front of her door, it satisfied him a lot, seeing his friend taking it seriously to guard her door. They didn’t really get to talk before Hannah, opened the door, again he got taken back from how beautiful she looked. Her golden locks were around her head, and with her white dress she looked like an angel, oh moon goddess, this woman was beautiful.

At first he was scared that she was trying to leave again, but then she had asked for some food. She looked so cute, but when she tried to walk, he saw the pain in her eyes. He decided to carry her back into her room. Sparks flew around on his skin, where he touched her.

Xavi was purring with contempt inside him. It was the best feeling in the world, and he didn’t want to let go of her.

He touched her blushing cheeks, and all he could think off was touching her lips, and letting his lips touch hers. It was hard to pull back from her, but Luke brought her food.

He looked at her while she was eating, she enjoyed every bite of the food. She had almost moaned when she took a bite of the mashed potatoes. Then she had some on her upper lip. He wanted to remove it, but then she licked it off with her pink tongue. He had a really hard time trying to control his libido.

When she was done eating, she tried to get up again, and it wanted to growl at her, but he didn’t. he removed the tray, and it seems like she understood that he didn’t want her to move around, because she asked him to help her to the bathroom, Xavi purred with the exciting thoughts of touching his mate again. She was so cute and amazing. He carried her back and forth and tugged her into bed. He kissed her forehead and told her to go to sleep. It was the hardest thing in the world to leave her. All he wanted was to sleep next to her.
