CHAPTER 3: THE RIPPLE EFFECT

793 Words
The news about Madisons secrets spread fast at Willowbrook High. People were always whispering about Madison. When Madison walked by students would look at each other. Teachers would take Madison aside to talk to her. Madisons friends were acting weird too. Tyler was really mad at Madison. He would not even look at Madison. Tyler's face would turn red whenever he saw Madison. Sophia was still friends, with Madison. Madison was really upset because her friends were not being very supportive. Tyler and Sophia who were supposed to be her friends at Willowbrook High were not acting like friends at all.. She was not as close to them as she used to be. Madison did not want to get in trouble with the rest of the group at Willowbrook High. Madison was worried about what the rest of the group would think of her. Madison just wanted Tyler and Sophia to be there for her like they used to be when they were all, at Willowbrook High together. Anastasia watched everything with a heart. She had made a drink that did exactly what she wanted. It lasted long enough to cause some trouble but not so long that it hurt anyone too badly. Anastasia knew this was not the end of everything. Getting revenge was not one thing, it was like a lot of things happening together getting bigger and bigger until Anastasia's revenge was really big. Anastasia thought about her revenge and her revenge was, like music it had to build up to be really good. Anastasia's revenge had to start and get louder and louder like a song that gets better and better. In the class the teacher was talking about tragedies but she was not really paying attention. Anastasia was sitting there drawing symbols in her notebook, like the kind of symbols that're like runes you know the ones that mean you are confused or having bad luck. Then she started thinking about Tyler, the quarterback on our school football team. Tyler has always been really mean to Anastasia,he is always pushing her into lockers. Making her trip, in the hallway, which is really not very nice of Tyler. Anastasia was probably thinking that Tyler is a big bully and that she does not like Tyler very much. Anastasia thought it was time for Tyler to feel scared. She wanted Tyler to feel unsure of himself. Anastasia thought that Tyler should not feel like he is in control all the time. Elara believed that Tyler needs to feel like Tyler's not always, in charge. After school Elara followed him quietly to football practice. She. Hid, behind the bleachers. Then Elara said a spell: "Feet of clay balance sway let the football players fall today." Soon as Anastasia said the spell, a little mist came up from the ground. Anastasia was the one who could see the mist. Tyler had a time during the scrimmage. He just could not hold onto the ball and his feet were not moving like they normally do. The field was really slippery because the turf was so dry. Tyler fell down. That made his ankle hurt. It was not a deal but it was bad enough that he could not play for a whole week. The coach was really upset with him. His teammates were not happy either. This made Tyler feel really bad because Tyler is usually the player, on the team. Tyler feels bad when Tyler is not playing well. The scrimmage did not go well. For Tyler his performance was really disappointing. People were expecting a lot from Tyler. Tyler did not play like Tyler usually does. Tyler just was not himself during the game. The whole thing was pretty bad, for Tyler. That evening Anastasia wrote in her journal, a leather book that her grandmother had given to her. People have a lot of thoughts about Anastasia. They think she is not strong.. That is not right. Anastasia is, like a storm that people do not see coming. Anastasia is very strong. Anastasia can handle things that people do not think she can handle. Anastasia is the storm that they do not expect. She drew pictures of herbs in her journal. She was thinking about what she would do to Sophia, the person who spreads rumors about people. Sophia says things that really hurt Anastasia more than if Sophia hit her. Anastasia wants to do something about Sophia and her hurtful words. Anastasia was very upset, with Sophia and the hurtful things Sophia says to her. But doubts crept in. Was she becoming the monster they accused her of being? Her grandmother's voice echoed: "Justice, not vengeance." Anastasia pushed the thought aside. They had started this and she would finish it.
