Kristen tied on her bikini and grinned at her reflection in the mirror. Her phoenix tattoo had healed perfectly and looked amazing next to the black string holding up her top. She made the right choice saying goodbye to Phillip.
One day she’d have the courage to go to him and say goodbye. She was getting stronger and wanted to see him before his wedding, but she didn’t know if she could. There was a part of her that worried she was still in love with him.
Whatever she felt for Phillip was nothing compared to the way she was falling for Zane, though. He gave her the confidence to trust she was over, or almost over, Phillip. He loved her in ways that Phillip never did. Not that he was in love with her, she wouldn’t count on that one, but he showed her how much he cared about her.
