Kristen stopped counting the number of times she screwed things up with Zane. It really was getting embarrassing.
She watched him at the bar talking to Sean and wondered if he was going to come back to the table or leave. When he turned toward her and walked back, she held her breath.
He smiled at her and sat in his seat again. He reached for her hand, and she finally exhaled. Having another guy break-up with her at a wedding would turn her off marriage forever.
“I forgot to ask if you wanted another glass of wine,” Zane said.
Kristen shook her head. “I’m okay. Thanks.”
Zane nodded and dug back into his food. He kept a hand on her thigh, his thumb caressing her the entire time.
Kristen ate her food and started to feel a little better. She wouldn’t relax until the wedding was over
