Things with Kristen and Zane were back on track after the wedding. She went tubing with a group of Zane’s adventurers one day, and they were talking regularly.
Zane was reviewing his schedule for Labor Day weekend when Danica walked in. None of their customers were there yet, so she grabbed a water from the fridge and sat next to him at the counter.
“Morning,” he said absently.
“Good morning,” she answered brightly.
“You’re in a good mood,” he said, glancing her way. He looked happy. Her eyes were bright and her smiled was enormous. Something was definitely going on.
She nodded.
“What’s up?”
She held out her hand. Her left hand. That was decorated with a ring as big as her grin.
“He proposed?” Zane asked.
She nodded again.
