Health Awareness - Daily Routine - Organ Clock
In acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), the organ clock is a concept used to understand the body's energy flow and its relationship to specific organs at different times of the day. It's based on the belief that each organ has a two-hour period of peak activity and energy flow, known as the "qi" or vital energy.
General overview of the organ clock:
Liver (1 am - 3 am): This time is associated with the liver's detoxification and regeneration processes. Waking up frequently during this time may indicate liver imbalance. Fall into a deep sleep during this time
Lungs (3 am - 5 am): The lungs are believed to be most active during this time, supporting respiration and the immune system. Waking up at this time may indicate respiratory issues or grief. It is good to wake up at this time and do Yoga, Meditation, Breathing Exercise ...etc
Large Intestine (5 am - 7 am): This period is associated with elimination and bowel movements. It's considered an optimal time for bowel movements and cleansing. This time can be used for Defecation
Stomach (7 am - 9 am): The stomach is most active during breakfast time, aiding in digestion. Eating a nourishing breakfast is emphasized during this time. Must have a good breakfast
Spleen/Pancreas (9 am - 11 am): This period is associated with energy absorption and distribution. It's a good time for mental work and digestion of information. During this time, you can drink plenty of water or juice items to support blood purification, blood circulation, Plate late count, RBC, HP.
Heart (11 am - 1 pm): The heart's peak activity aligns with midday. It's a time for emotional balance, joy, and circulation. Avoid hard work during this time if possible.
Small Intestine (1 pm - 3 pm): This period is associated with further digestion and nutrient absorption. It's also a time for sorting through thoughts and making decisions. Avoid food items during this time.
Bladder (3 pm - 5 pm): The bladder's (Urinary Bladder) peak activity coincides with the need for frequent bathroom breaks. It's a time for relaxation and releasing tension. During this time you can drink plenty of water, juice items, avoid heavy food.
Kidneys (5 pm - 7 pm): This period is associated with kidney function, including filtration and hormone regulation. It's also a time for rest and rejuvenation. The kidney is seen in the position of the soul and prayers can be engaged at this time.
Pericardium (7 pm - 9 pm): The pericardium, which protects the heart, is believed to be most active during this time. It's a time for winding down and socializing. During this time, important decisions can be taken, like marriage and purchase of property.
Triple Burner (San Jiao) (9 pm - 11 pm): The triple burner regulates body temperature and metabolism. It's a time for settling down and preparing for sleep. During this time the spine needs rest, so try to lie flat.
Gallbladder (11 pm - 1 am): The gallbladder's peak activity aligns with bedtime. It's a time for detoxification and processing emotions. Should be in deep sleep at this time.
The organ clock is used by acupuncturists and TCM practitioners to diagnose imbalances and plan treatments based on the body's natural rhythms. It's important to note that individual experiences may vary, and the organ clock is just one aspect of a comprehensive approach to health and wellness in acupuncture and TCM.
