Adira was shocked, even Bane’s father was the same, ‘what kind of family was this,” she cursed herself for being an i***t, for blindly trusting this jerk. Its true when they say that onlookers know more than the people involved on whats happening , everyone knew about Bane, everyone but she.
One of the men tore her trail from the bottom of the dress as the ring whirled due to multiple layers of her dress. She was completely red in face and teary eyed.
“Noooo.. Please don’t do this, this is illegal, Ill take you to the cops.. stop this nonsense right now.” she tried to brave this thing though she knew it was all in vain.
“There’s nothing legal or illegal for men who define the paragraphs in the book of law.’ smirked Mak as he leered at her body .
"We are already being kind to you b*tch, had it been Bane's brother Athen, you'd be a pickled chicken by now, no betting crap, simply grab and f*ck" Elton smirked
" Yeah Bane, good thing Athen isn't here or you would have lost the girl anyway, no bargainings, no nothing, you lucky b*stard." Mak pitched in
Listening about Athen irked Bane as he wasn't on good terms with him, he knew that he'd be at a disadvantage in his presence.
Just then Bane shouted aloud, “That’s enough,” his eyes filled with fury as he shouted at everyone present at the table looking and lusting after Adira.
"No more nonsense and sh*t talks on who's here and who isn't." Bane looked fumed up
Adira finally felt relieved that Bane’s good sense prevailed and he stopped this entire act.
“Bane.. please stop this, just let me go , I know you are a good person, thanks for stopping this nonsense.” she said hopefully with teary eyes.
Bane looked at her then at his family, he saw his father and others drooling at Adira, He looked like he made a resolve, suddenly he let out a loud shout in anger
“I've changed my mind, this can no more happen as planned.” he looked at everyone with eyes dipped in anger.
"Bane!" Tania looked at him in panic
“You forget what I said, you can have her only If I loose, I haven’t yet played my next round, what gives you the right to do all this to her” Tania’s face went pale thinking that she had lost her husband to this pretty girl.
“Bane, too late, now even if you don’t bet, we will have her, you better think twice.” Uncle Tom spoke as he leered at Adira.
“ Well, in that case, what can I do against you elders.” Adira’s heart sank at his words again, “ But... I have a condition even if I loose, only if you agree will we continue,” Bane placed his words calculatively.
“Bane, you really think you’re in a position to place conditions?” snorted Tom, “Shut up and come to the table”
“ I am,” spoke Bane as he stood firm, “I am in the condition to set terms, at least for the sake of getting her here, and...” he trailed off with a sly smile
“Spit it out,” said his father impatiently
“okay.. If I loose, she is yours,”
Adira’s face fell, that little hope in her died and she knew she was in the web of dangerous spiders, there will be no return now.
“But.. I want the documents for my office, car and villa back.”
“......” snorts and smirks filled the air around the table
“ You got cheeks sonny, what makes you think you will get all that despite you having lost ?” Mak spoke
“Because..” he paused deliberately to tease them
“s**t it out you a*shole”, spat Mak
“because she.. she’s a virgin.” He finally completed
“...” men began to drool all the more, loud cheers, jeers and hissing sounds were heard from the crowd.
“Nooo,” when Adira heard that she almost died, this was getting seriously hellish, she was so defeated and humiliated as she hung on that bloody ring , suspended in air and her body on complete display. When you hear things happen to others in life, you never imagine them happening to you, like you hear about other girls getting raped or killed, but you never think for once that someday, just someday, by a stroke of sheer bad luck, it might even happen to you, if you’re careless.. if you’re reckless and if you’re too trusting.
“Oh Mom, dad I miss you so much, I’ll regret this day of my life, I’ll regret that I may never get to see you again, never be able to meet Dave, God!” Adira’s tears fell as she recalled her mother’s gentle eyes and father’s love, she was his pet, spoiled to the hilt because of his love, she was known as a spoilt brat. She recalled how her mother always warned her to never befriend strangers, never eat or drink Anything offered by people whom you do not know and never ever trust anyone blindly .A sad smile spread across her lips as she thought about her loved ones and about how casually we treat our parents and loved ones advice .
Adira realised what an i***t she had been. She prayed for a miracle to happen , that someone would barge in from the door and save her. She suddenly recalled Aryan, his innocent love that she kept shunning, maybe this was her retribution. Tears rolled out non stop from her beautiful grey eyes. She shivered as she felt like a prey, broken, defeated and chained.
“Done,” all men replied in a chorus as Bane had a victorious smile
The next round was lost too by looser Bane, but still, he got to collect his documents, some cash and Tania, he walked out, stopping before Adira whose eyes spewed fire.
“Bane, you shouldn’t have done this, your not a human being, I curse you Bane, from the bottom of my heart , I curse you that you shall meet a death that no human was served, you will rot and have worms all over your body, even If I die, Ill come back to avenge you and give you your death... I promise, Ill kill you.” she cursed him aloud and all went quiet.
