Chapter 4 of The Gem

Upon hearing this, the girl stopped and laughed. She then said, "Everyone has secrets in this world. It is alright to have one once it isn't related to anything bad.God is always there for you, so don't be so serious about your secret. I doubt it is really a secret if He knows about it. Aren't secrets supposed to be personal?" If it is bothering you that much, why don't you open up to me?". Hearing this, the guy said," I was sent by Mom to bring you along with me? Dad died, so she did not want you to be alone or feel lonely. Before you ask, yes, we have the same birth mother. I know we have a messed up family but aren't all families messed up. Before you get angry, think about it." Jacey was so annoyed and angry that she tried to punch him over and over again but kept missing or so it seemed. She replied, "Why are you nutjobs so screwed up? Why, could you not just leave me alone. I am so so angry and annoyed. Do not ever come near me again. I am done with family. Go and have your own family." She left the guy's presence after saying that. The guy was so angry and said,"Why did I have to go and tell her about our cruel mother. It is all my fault after all that we are separated as a family."

One year later, Jacey was in university and received a call from an unknown number. She decided not to pick it as she was in class. After the lectures were over, she decided to have a meal at one of her favourite diners. When she opened the diner's door she saw her favourite person in the whole world. She greeted her and had a seat. The woman said," Back again for some more spaghetti. I do not recall it being that tasty and delicious. Anyway, how is life as an assassin treating you? Is it nice? Do you want more work or you are okay with the current jobs at hand? I am Roberta after all." Hearing this, the girl turned her head towards Roberta and said, "How many more jobs till I reach my target? When can I start the jobs? Life as an assassin is pretty nice. I make quick money from just throwing knives at people." The woman said," How about tonight, then? Do you have any plans?

The job has no time limit." Jacey then said," I have to finish an assignment with one of my classmates. After, I guess I could swing by and earn some quick money. How does that sound? Is it good enough?"

She then said," You know that I am still waiting for the famous delicious spaghetti. I have not had any food the whole day. I think I could get an ulcer if you do not bring me that spaghetti. I am always so busy." Roberta then said," It is all part of the job. Remember, I have been there before. Your childhood was pretty interesting, am I right? We used to go on so many missions together when you were a child. I am sure that you remember because I cannot forget that. I wish that I was still young so that we could on every mission together. Anyway, what do you want with the spaghetti? Special egg or basic egg?" Jacey then laughed and said," Who would want basic in this world. The day I am going to have may require a little more than your usual special special egg. I guess I could grab some food on the way to the group meeting so the special egg then."

In less than a few minutes, Roberta prepared an extraordinary meal for Jacey. She then said," It is a new recipe. Try it. You are the first one to try it. It is so delicious by the way. It will leave you wanting it every single day. Eat up and come for more if you are still hungry." As she took the fork and was placing it in the pasta, a car drove into the diner. She heard it so early and instinctively jumped over the car before it could hit her. Roberta also jumped over the car as she used to also be an assassin. Suddenly, five more cars parked outside the diner. Both men and women got out of the cars and started firing their guns at the diner at a constant rate. Angry and annoyed, both Jacey and Roberta ran faster than the speed of light towards the cars. They quickly dodged all the bullets being fired at them. Jacey took a very slim but sharp dagger from her long socks. She drew out two of the men by stabbing their legs and slit their throats so fast that they had no time to see her doing it. Roberta also took out a pocket knife and cut the hands of one of the armed women. She punched one so hard that her jaw became dislocated immediately the hand landed on her jaw. She punched another in the stomach and slit her throat so fast that blood sprayed out of the throat. She threw the pocket knife into one of the men's legs. He screamed in pain as the knife landed in his toe. She punched him to silence him. Jacey kicked one of the men in the balls as she threw her dagger at one of the armed women. The woman begged Jacey to spare her as she was about to be killed by Jacey. Jacey saw the sorrow in the woman's eye and had mercy on her but another hit woman tried to kill her. Jacey quickly used the dagger to slice the bullets into half before they hit the woman on the floor. The woman thanked Jacey but Jacey kicked her in the face and the woman blacked out.Then Jacey quickly took out all the remaining men who were armed and alive. Roberta also killed the remaining women with one of their guns as she used to be a sniper as well.

After taking out all of the armed people, they made sure all of them were unconscious by knocking each one of them out once more. They then checked in the cars and saw bombs one of them. The bombs were about to blow and it had a very wide range. Jacey then said to Roberta," Will you clean the place up? I will take care of the issue at hand. I will drive it to a safe distance from your diner and deactivate it. Hopefully, I will succeed and come back alive and enjoy your famous pasta." Roberta replied,"The pasta is really what you are thinking about? What about your goal or school or yourself? You cannot put yourself in danger all because of trying to save me. Think about how young you are. You have a lot of years left to live if you do not end your young life today. Just let me do it. I am an expert. Do you know that I also learnt how to deactivate a bomb through military training. It was tough but I survived. I will also survive this. Do not do this because I am grown or because I have aged over the years. I still have it in me. Do you not think so?" Jacey tried convincing Roberta but she did not succeed. She then pushed Roberta quickly into the diner and ran to the car as fast as she could and drove miles away.

She reached her destination but the car door failed to open so she tried kicking it but failed. The bombs then exploded along with Jacey.
