Aila remembered how they got to know each other. They were in kindergarten and still very ignorant of the world. ( Aila regarded her early memories as a dream until she got older to realize that this is her new life.)
She remembered the bliss of those simple times and how it got shattered when her friends' parents met her. She was thoroughly confused as to why they didn't like her, as far as her young memory remembers, she hadn't done anything bad that warranted such hate. Cold eyes filled with disgust and unknown emotions are the constant things she receives from them.
But in her third life, she vaguely understood why they regarded her so.
Aila was not an original resident of this world. At some point, or to be more precise, the people of this world had some resistance towards foreign souls which she is, creator or not.
Proven when even the undead seemingly cannot see her even if she stood in the middle of a huge wave of them. The had some hand in that, but so far, most people she met in her second life have some sort of line in regards to her being. If they are nice to her, they are certain to hold some hidden agendas.
Pure souls are exempt from this. And one of the nights before this conference, she asked the World > why her friends seemed to be among these types of people. Because it made no sense why they, unlike most people outside her family, do not hate her or somehow have some prejudice against her.
The cannot verbally answer her and directly knock her to sleep to show her why. Apparently, in every world there are some souls that are comparable or greater than the darlings of the creator or the protagonists of the world. These are called [Pure Souls]. These individuals were created in order to counter the world's destruction should the protagonist decide to be crazy.
Pure souls don't care about foreign souls, instead they are most likely to hover around them to explore for a while or, in some cases, for life. If they take a liking to you, they will most likely appear once in a while throughout a person's lifetime. But if they otherwise don't like you even for a little bit, it's very likely that you will forever be a stranger to them.
Think about it in w*******l troops. It would be the people they acknowledged– their sworn brothers and the like. They will take care of the other, depending how intimate they are. These souls will do many things for others.
As stated, Pure Souls are back-up pillars of the , therefore these souls are strong and willful. Nothing can stop them from having the things they want. If they refuse to let go of something, it is really hard to change their mind, even the had some hard time doing so.
Be it sheer coincidence or not, Aila encountered them in her early life. One way or another, she has earned the souls’ recognition, so they are likely to take her as someone who should be a big part of their lives.
From experience, they are quite possessive beings too, given how much they want to have some control over her in one way or another. Given that they thoroughly monitored her daily life. They are also contrary creatures who respect her privacy, but intruding enough to make most people creep out.
Their families are another story. Ordinary souls tend to reject foreign souls, so they have been trying to separate them ever since they met. And with how mundane they are in the order of the world's hierarchy, they really cannot take them apart unless it was the Pure Souls themselves who decided so.
"I never thought you were a gambler, Aila," Harry said as he took off his glasses and wiped them. "You are always careful and don't believe in chances."
"Indeed, I don't believe in chances. But this time I need to stake myself in this whole ordeal." Aila stated, unwilling to tell more details about it.
The hyenas furthermore fixed their gazes on her as they had been earlier, but only hotter. They are not satisfied and are even distressed with what she had said. Various imagery should be swimming around their minds now at the moment.
"Is there anything we can help you with?" Eugene said. Amethyst's eyes searched for any particular signs that he could take note of. He may or may not take another further look at what is happening to their resident maniac.
Aila smiled and felt warm inside. Although they are still hell bent on getting answers, they retreat whenever she shows discomfort about it.
"Rest assured. You don't have to worry about me. I'm fine and I can take care of myself." Aila reassured them. " If it makes you really ill at ease, I promise to tell you whenever something comes out."
"You better honour that promise, little eagle." Said Felix with a gentle smile. "I don't take broken promises well. So are the rest of us."
"I understood." Replied Aila with the obedience of a soldier. "Now, are there any more questions about my presentation?"
The group said nothing and Aila took it as a sign that her part is already done. Silence filled the room for a while until Bella took the lead again.
"With everyone already having their turn and there is no longer any agenda to address. This conference is dismissed." Bella said in an official manner. It sounded all serious and all, but considering that their meeting was in fact not any official proceeding of the sort.
Aila breathed a sigh of relief that finally things were temporarily over. It will take another three months to undergo this nerve-wrecking ordeal again. She really wonders how they have agreed to have this kind of thing and how she even got on this kind of pirate ship. This seriously made her think again about whether her life choices were right.
"So now that the serious things are done," Liza said with an ambiguous glint in her eyes. "Can we talk about some lighthearted things?"
Eugene groans after hearing Liza's words. He thought to himself, 'Why do we have to go through this again?'.
The others had some interesting faces on them and Aila just wanted to run away. Aila had forgotten, given that her mind was focused on future matters, the real horror of these conferences is not the actual discussion. But rather it is what comes after the said meeting.
"Dearest Lord," Aila prayed in her mind to whatever God there is. Though she had paused for a moment to seriously think that, since she was the one who made this world, would the one she was calling on be herself? It made her momentarily at a loss and coupled with her present situation. "Why the hell are you making your life hard, Aila?"
"Now why are you making those displeased faces? I'm not biting anybody. I just want to talk about things called 'Love' and not somebody's death." Liza said, pouting as she took note of her friends' frightened faces.
