'This place is packed huh?!' What kind of question is that Veronica? I internally asked myself. I was sat on a rickety and sticky bar stool in one of those nautical themed bars you can find in any seaside towns. I wrapped my lips around the lip of the cold bottle, earning for the liquid courage to stop making such awkward conversation and I craved the cold to cool my pinking skin, even with such a high factor sun cream I had still managed to have those sensitive tight pink patches across my nose and chest. I noticed a cold drip.of beer escape my lips and trail down my neck and collarbone heading south, the coolness was refreshing and I flicked my eyes swiftly enough to see him tense as he watched the drip make its way to my cleavage. My hand swiftly wiped up the sticky liquid before it made it too far down. 'Yeah your right, hey Imma a grab a smoke, wanna come with?' he replied coyly. 'Oh I don't smoke' I replied 'Come out and talk to me then' he fired back instantly, with those dark eyes looking directly into mine I felt a pull. He held his hand out and I swear as I took it I felt a slight shiver, a small spark and by the tightening of his hand, my guess was he felt that too. 2 day earlier 'Come out Veronica, you can't stay in that bathroom forever' Justine bellowed in through the gap in the door. She was right, it has been 3 days since I found Ethan cheating with his co-worker whilst I was on my bacholerette with my girls. My bridesmaids had wanted to surprise me so had kept the location a secret and it seemed Ethan also had the same location in mind when he decided to take his side piece on a city spa weekend. Cue a very awkward meeting when us girls went to unload our luggage only to see Ethan and Wendy from accounting checking in. I hadn't left the suites bathroom in 3 days and the girls were getting understandably worried. I was hurt so deeply but I knew I had to face reality some time 'Just come for some pancakes with us, I know how much you love maple syrup' Justine teased in. I shook myself back to reality and let out a weak okay through the door. 'Just give me a minute to shower'. I could hear Justine squeal with excitement as she bounced away from the door. 'Shes coming for breakfast' she excitedly sung out to the others and a chorus of excited voices rang back to me to in the bathroom. I looked in the mirror and with bags under my eyes and the air of patheticness around me I knew I would need more than a shower to look half decent but that's all I could afford right now. The cold water sent shivers to every part of my body. The cold refreshing water ran through my hair and washed away the stale tears caked on my face. I quickly lathered some soap and washed my body, feeling although in some way I was scrubbing some of Ethan off me. I watched the water circle the drain and pledged to myself I wouldn't cry today. Just one step at a time and it starts with pancakes. I brushed my long blonde locks and plaited them to keep them off my face in the seaside heat. Even the ice cold shower couldn't help my puffy eyes I noticed as I finished applying the last of my suncreen. Thank God for big sunglasses I thought. 'Hes such an asshole Vee, I can't believe the slime ball would throw away what he has with you for that tart!' Cheryl spewed in between bites of her blueberry pancakes. For such a beautiful and petite redhead, Cheryl would have even freightened Hades in that moment. 'Im just glad he left, if I would have seen him and her still here...' Justine chimed in and made stabbing gestures with such emphasis that her raven hair and bulbous breasts jiggled back and for. All 3 of us broke out into hysterical laughter at Justine, while she gave a serious shrug. 'I know girls' I said wanting to acknowledge the events and my current relationship or should we say now ex relationship with Ethan. 'Something always felt off ever since he said he had that new work project but I trusted him, and to see him here with Wendy just shattered me.' I could feel the tears begin to well up in my eyes as the wounds in my heart began to reopen. The warm hands of the girls all quickly engulfed me as they comforted me. 'Oh Veronica, our sweet pea...' Darcy cooed in her southern accent. Although myself, Justine and Cheryl had known eachother since we were kids, I had met Darcy in college and she fritted in although she had always been there. 'Do you know what Veronica, your on vacation right now, yes it may have meant to be your bachelorette but this could be your rebirth after Ethan instead' Cheryl said. 'We have four days left in this gorgeous beach side resort, soak up the sun, sip on cocktails and use the spa and wel deal with Ethan when we get back home' she continued. I didn't have the strength in my body to argue and I really wanted to just relax so I agreed. How bad could a few days by the beach be for my wellbeing? 'Okay' I said and with that the girls erupted I could see they were so happy I agreed to stay. We continued our day with the resort spa and then spent the night in Justine and Cheryl's room reminscing about our college days and bad boyfriends, I felt I could add cheating fiancee into that mix. The next day was mostly spent the same but they suggested we hit the local town nightclub scene but I didn't feel up to it. I promised them I'll think about it tomorrow. ....
