Chapter Thirty-Seven
Water I had been very shocked when Kalani woke up only a day after she had transformed. Well, more like 36 hours after. After my transformation and Aileen's, I would have thought that Kalani would take from two to four days. But something was different about her. I didn't know her much, aside from the small talk we shared before she transformed, but I could tell something was off about it. Maybe it was just my instincts telling me that was the case, or maybe I was just seeing things where there weren't. It had been close to a week since she woke up and I was beginning to feel restless. No matter how I tried to approach her, to talk about leaving and finding the others, Kalani would make up an excuse and shrug it off. I didn't like being here, so exposed to any monster that could be lurk
