I waited fifteen minutes for him at the bridge, but when he didn’t show up, I sent him a text message. When he didn’t respond, I gave up on the one person I loved the most in the world and headed for home. As I reached the head of the bridge and was about to turn the corner and walk toward Charles Avenue, my cell buzzed. I dug it out of my coat pocket, swiped it on, and read the new message on the screen: I’m parked in Vale’s lot. Meet me there. Will wait 4 you.
