Chapter 27My five texts to Rocco went unanswered. That night, I called him over and over but all the calls went straight to voicemail. An hour before dinner with my parents, I decided to sneak out of my bedroom window and walk a few blocks to Rocco’s house. I had not seen or heard from him since our Trig final when he left me standing in the dust outside the high school. Before leaving, I locked the door and turned music up on the stereo to ward off my parents until I got back. I walked slowly down the dimly lit cul-de-sac.
