As Emma got to know John, she found she wasn’t really surprised that in the time they’d been in Eden, he’d kept himself apart from the women under his command—he was not only a gentleman, he was an honorable one as well—but she was surprised he’d made no attempt to start a relationship with any of the female scientists.
She did notice that he spent a good deal of time on Thuban, and so she assumed he was becoming involved with Kadelia, who was a beautiful woman. If Emma wasn’t still missing Peter, she might have made an attempt to attract Kadelia herself. She’d noticed the Thubanese were extremely relaxed when it came to s****l proclivities.
She smiled ruefully to herself and looked up as Dr. Tremayne tapped on the frame of her office door.
