I stepped out of the room and went to the hospital's cafeteria to get a bottle of water.
I had just gotten the water and was scrolling through my phone as I walked back. I was a bit skeptical about going back to the room so I was counting my steps carefully while walking through the lobby.
I was still contemplating Jason's offer and his plea for a second chance, I had yet to come to any final decision concerning his request, and I was still sceptical about giving him the second chance he asked for because I still did not trust him despite all his efforts to prove to me that he was a changed man.
