The feeling of my paws in the dirt and the wind in my fur has gotten old.. right now, I'd love to feel the breeze in my hair, the fresh cut grass underneath my feet, the feeling of a dry throat from talking too much. My wolf has made all the decisions, I have been forced to parade around in wolf form for over a decade it seems like, and he talks to me every once in a while bossing me around, although he doesn't mind. Today I will be getting us out of here, although I kind of like it here, there is no one but us. Plenty of food and water, and no one to go and stab us behind the back and trap us in an alternant realm, the wolf explained, I sighed mentally. You have said this everyday for however long we have been here, you only like it because you get the control because they force me to stay this way., I reminded him Yes, but today is different, I can feel it in the wind, he explains further, I just let him go on with thinking that, but how he had described how he could feel today was different, I could feel it too but it wasn't the way the wind was blowing that set me off. It was the feeling of dread, like something bad was going to happen. Just keep your head up and your eyes and ears open. Something isn't right, I advised him. He huffed in agreement before taking off and allowing more air to rush through the tangles in the fur, dirt kicking up from the ground when each paw left it. Suddenly, in front of us a portal opens, we slide to a halt, digging all four paws into the ground to stop ourselves from going through the random portal. We stopped just a few feet from the strange thing, Fenris taking a couple sniffs in front of us before sitting of the ground.. Fenris, dear boy, a female voice came from the portal, Fenris took a defensive stance and the voice continued, I know you are not what Loki says you are, I hope my apology will be accepted, I know it has taken me a long time to realize the truth but you would know better than anyone what influence Loki's lies have on us all.. Please step through this portal, and you will be able to stop living as this wolf, and live peacefully... Fenris didn't trust this one bit, it was a goddesses voice for sure, but neither me nor him could tell which goddess it belonged to. Fenris slowly got up, huffed and slowly made his way towards the portal, stopping to sniff it first to see if it wasn't his imagination before sticking his head through and looking on the other side of the portal. When our head was through the portal, I immediately knew it was Earth, just from the smell of it, Fenris took in scents of nothing but wolves and the wilderness around him before taking the steps through the portal, as he looked back the voice spoke once more. Fenris, you are free of your imprisonment and can shift when you want, I will warn you: Earth has changed, it its now a world of Wolves; good luck Fenris and I hope you can forgive me, the voice advised before the portal disappeared. Fenris walked once more to explore this new world, taking cautious and careful steps. He slowly walked up to a creek and sniffed it before taking a lap at the fresh water. He took note of his surroundings. From the looks of things, we were deep in the forest, somewhere in the mountains from the rough terrain and the higher elevation. Evergreen trees poked out of the ground, some taller than others, the sky clear and deep blue, the grass waving in the breeze, telling me it was summer time. Fenris walked on, revealing more and more of the forest that the strange portal had taken us to. Where are all the wolves that voice mentioned the wolf asked. I'm not sure we want to meet them, we are new and on our own, we don't need a pack of wolves on our hands I warned. Well I was just asking, he reminded me before stopping at the sight of movement not far ahead of us, perking up his ears, and staying absolutely still, he watched for the one responsible for the movement to show themselves.. The object took off in a sprint after some prey that was about the same size they were, it was a wolf. I think humans, when they were still around called them timber wolves, but this wolf was half my size. Wolves must have gotten a growth spurt as well. We kept our distance and moved on, in the back of our mind we thought.. Lets just hope we're the biggest wolf out here.. All we could do... was hope.
